January 14, 200422 yr Hey all, here are some new misc pics of new tires and fender cuts. so let me know what you think. And yes the lift is next, soon, not soon enough:D -Sean http://usmb.net/gallery/albup14?page=2
January 14, 200422 yr That post looks REAL close to the tire. Looks like you need a lift Car's looking great tho. -Brian
January 14, 200422 yr Nice job. Who makes Wildcats, and how do the compare (cost and performance) to Cooper sst's?
January 14, 200422 yr Man, you must be close to Columbia Helicopter. I'd love to get a few of the Sky Cranes to see if I could get one going. That looks like the bone yard for the Sky Cranes that Evergreen has.
January 14, 200422 yr Author northguy, Im not sure who makes the Wildcat but i got them at Les Schwab. Got all 4 mounted and balanced for under $300. they are on sale now. Someone told me they are a wild country bootleg, not sure:D -Sean
January 14, 200422 yr For one thing - the wildcat's come in several different tread patterns - the Wildcat EXT is the Mud Terrain. The ones he has here are All Terrains. Also - a lot of LS tires (I think the Wildcat is one) are made by Cooper. The EXT's are good MT's - not sure about the all terrains - I like a more aggresive look personally, so haven't had experience with them. Lookin good - you should have got the lift first tho - cause afterwards you will want bigger tires GD
January 14, 200422 yr Author I know the lift will be the next thing. We are only going 2" i think not too much. But i was limited to the tires for 14" but these will take me as far as i need to but the pattern is pretty aggresive they just dont have everyother one out on the end tread. but they are goog looking tire. -Sean
January 14, 200422 yr Author The sky crane is the S64 military heavy lift, the Evergreen in WA is the crane we sold to them and also do all the overhaul for them as well asc sell them all the acc. for their lift:cool:
January 14, 200422 yr ru4X4ever, yes I know what a S64 is, I use to fly CH47s, OH6s, UH1Ds, so I think I know what it is. I thought Columbia Helicopters was there in Oregon, maybe I was thinking of Everegreen. When did Evergreen move to Washington?? So where do you work?? I used to see some helicopters at the Albany airport, don't know if they are still there. I actually bought a part Brantley B2 for the Brantley that I had as a personal helicopter at the time. A friend and i were talking the other day about that company that took S58s and coverted them to flying campers, some with turbine conversions. We thought you could just get a S64 and pick up a motorhome and fly anyway.
January 14, 200422 yr does that bracket come on/off ? cuase the first time you stuff that tire up the brackets is gonna either rip off or chew the tire good! how about some fuarther away shots of the ladder?
January 15, 200422 yr Originally posted by ru4x4ever We are only going 2" i think not too much. No way, we're going to go 14"s!!! yeah! with like 36x12.50-16.5's!! yeah! And like stuff one of those chopper motors in there, with like 4 transfer cases, and all HMMWV drivetrain!! Oh yeah, and another ladder! and lights, lotsa lights like 15 airplane landing lights!!!! Oh yeah!!!
January 15, 200422 yr Author Dr RX alot of people dont know about air-cranes or where they are from so i wouldnt think you would get upset ! -Sean
January 15, 200422 yr It looks real good and I do like blue wagons. Sure wish I'd kept the one I had for a short time. On the ladder, I was wondering if it was removable too, but my concern was about ripping it off when you go to squeeze between trees and stuff. Guess it's one of those finesse things knowing how wide your vehicle is. Anyhow, nice looking rig.
January 15, 200422 yr Author yeah it comes off with 2 self-tappers on top rack and 4 in fender-well, it tips out then drops down. I have already been in the rough and it has had tree debris wdged and attached the the darn thing. It is built and attached, very stout:headbang: -Sean
January 16, 200422 yr looking good. now you need a lift... i'm real sorry i couldn't stop by on my way down. i was really looking forward to meeting you.
