February 19, 200917 yr We have the same car. nipper NICE nipper! Is that on lift blocks or king springs or both?? I've been looking into springs to push my car a bit higher and have seen a couple OBs on raised springs (and new KYB struts). Looks good!
February 20, 200917 yr Hey Nipper, how much larger of a tire are you able to run and what lift kit are you running again? I wonder what Kings would do with that lift of yours:brow:? September 11, 201114 yr Nipper,are they Blocks you did or from someone else ? at 1st i thought my 97 OB had reg Legacy struts cause it seemed to be sitting low but parked her next to coworkers 98 and they looked to be the same height.. all i would like is maybe 2-3"s..
September 12, 201114 yr on gen 1 OBs you can put gen 2 Forester (03-08) strut assemblies on and get another 1-1.5" lift over OB suspension.. It's a simple Bolt-off -- bolt-on job, otherwise king/scorpion springs will do about the same (about +1 "), but really extend your OB struts so they're at near full extension always... that'll shorten the strut life :-\ and strut spacers/blocks will push the body up off the top of the strut = lift and more clearance for taller tires. a few companies around make 1" spacers, and you can find 2" and 4" spacers... Over 2ish inches TALLER that stock and you'll want to space down your drive line components. September 15, 201114 yr on gen 1 OBs you can put gen 2 Forester (03-08) strut assemblies on and get another 1-1.5" lift over OB suspension..It's a simple Bolt-off -- bolt-on job, oh good..i'd prefer something as simple as replacing the strut assembly.(along with maybe spacers too as long as it won't effect CV joints) currently have 205/75/15s on now..how much more tire you think i could fit ? 215/75/15s maybe ? September 15, 201114 yr I really like my Pedders HD lift springs. They took a long time (4 months) to get here, but are worth it. They're $100 less than the King springs. I'd run Kings if I could afford it. The rears needed a 1/2 inch spacer I made with HDPE off of ebay. Stock camber adjustment is adequate for an alignment. The car is up 2" all around and corners better than before. You can put 200lbs of cargo in back and it sits nicely and handles great.
