Any plow info please

Featured Replies

Plow I have is a "SnoWay" blade.Hyd. unit has "John Barnes Corp." from Rockford Ill.

I'm going back to the guy I got it from tomorrow and hopefully he'll help me out a little more. But he's almost 80 years old so....

General questions I have are about controls, seems I don't have any right now.The plow is an hour away at another borad member's place.I barely looked it over before dropping it off.We were both in a rush to get going.

Where do they mount(controls)?Any help from experience is greatly appreciated.Hopefully I'm wrong and the control is a little shifter that I just didn't see.

Higher lights?Add wiring or cut and paste some factory connectors so I can plug my headlight harness into the high mounts when needed?

I'm going to be using a Hatchback for this knuckleheaded project.Just have to try it.The plow rig is made to fit EA82 cars also.So says the dealer I got it from.He says he had it on a sedan,Loyale style up to a few years ago.I also have a beater 3door that I could make useable for this if it's better suited.

Anything else to consider?

Paul, I will try to locate for you the info you require.. .. Email me or post if you get the info you need in the meantime...... I will work on it ....... If all goes well maybe I will end up with one also... Joe

Well that makes one of us.....personally I don't see why this re-surfaced.It's May,the grass is green and my plow sits at Wagon78's place.....but go ahead and talk it up as long as there's some sense being made.

I now find myself with a decent plow vehicle,or two,or three...so come next fall I'll be hot on this again.Right now I could care less.

Hint-it's a good time to make me an offer on the plow.....:brow:

91loyale..."bump" is a dance from the "70's" when 2 or more people bump there hips together to the beat of the music.

I'm glad this got bumped. I was just talking to someone about these the other day. Anyone have info on the plows that were offerd on "new" subarus back then? Was this just a limited dealership deal? How rare are they? What do they go for if you do find one?

Thx

I did a little research last night on the info Paul included in an earlier post. The plow is made by Snowway. They're still in business and make a fine (albeit expensive) product. They make a 5'9' plow (and larger) that would fit a subbie. The name on the pump used to lift it is from a hydraulics manufacturing company with a faction in Rockford, IL. They're still in business, but it appears they have moved on to bigger and better things. Last winter I also looked into Blizzard plows, and they make a smaller one that will work on a subbie, too. Just some options, if you're interested.

THanks for the info. I was hoping there was a Fuji Heavy Ind. snow plow :(
