  1. OK, got the Brumby back from panelbeaters and paint shop and ignition switch is working as normal. However while at the panelbeaters it was driven in and out of the workshop with the choke full out - hence it wouldn't even start when i went to drive home, ended up getting a tow start and after half a km it burst (roughly!) into life! I gave it a good run and it's now running OK.

  2. One way the CTS can fail is to read incorrectly when hot. If the engine temp is not reported correctly to the ECU, it will not trigger the injector to supply the correct amount of fuel. The result is running poorly. A cold engine needs a lot more fuel to run well. A hot engine will not run well with that higher amount of fuel. I had a CTS fail so it randomly varied making all sorts of drivability problems. But it never went out if range to trip a code.

  3. Take it easy guys. The question was clear, and relevant. And there are a lot more ratios available on the newer cars than that. Legacies and Outbacks with a turbo and a 5EAT have very tall diff ratios. Looks like 07-09 LGT 5EAT cars use that one in particular. Car-part.com lists that option for a Legacy 3.0 5EAT, but I couldn't reproduce it in Subaru's catalog.

  4. Good question. Excellent answer! This is better than watching TV! (Not that I do that so what do I know?).

  5. I joined this Forum back in 2011, under a different name (UberScoober), as a way to learn more about my first car, a '88 GL 4wd Auto Wagon. I have never stopped learning since that day I first joined... and it wasn't long before I wanted to change my Username to something that held a candle to Subaru, instead of making light of Subaru. I had an idea of just how good Subaru was in terms of their quality and reliability before joining the Forum, but now I am a firm believer in that aspect as well as a believer in the great people, the enthusiasts here that help make it all happen. There is nothing quite like the Subaru community, it is something very special indeed, and I'm glad to be a part of it. -6 Star -Chad (IRL)

  7. FWD Life. My trusty little gas sipper. In Other News... I added a Table of Contents (So far, for just the brochures) to the First Post. And you will find that they all have Hyperlinks to their location in the Thread. Plus, I've uploaded more of the Japanese brochures. (Fixed their broken links, and added them to the "Contents") Check it out More to come...
