  1. Stop leak seems to do more harm than good. Not sure about the newer model radiators but on the earlier subarus the lines inside the radiator were small enough that the stop leak would partially clog the radiator creating more problems.
  2. Love it when someone else admits to watching that show. My Name is Earl is one of my guilty pleasures.....I wish I could say I only watch it for the Brat appearances.
  3. No, the school is a separate item and is not mandatory for the rallycross entry on Sunday.
  4. Yea, I'm hoping my engine is good for one last event; we're putting together a replacement to get rid of the blue smoke.
  5. Held in conjunction with Primitive Racing's rallycross school on May 2nd and 3rd. Rallycross info at: http://www.oregonrally.com/rallycross.cfm Rallycross school info at: http://www.writerguy.com/primitive/nwrallyschool.htm Weather info for the area: http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=Hillsboro%2C+OR
  6. Lots of fine reading here on the Rally America 'site. http://www.rally-america.com/event.Olympus.2008.php?section=live_updates Not a big surprise to see Block and Pastrana finish 1st and 2nd overall. My good friend Marc Goldfarb (east coast buddy from my previous life) finished 4th overall co-driving an EVO. Subaru took 8 places out of the top 10!
  7. April is a good month for birthdays. Have a good one!
  8. Here's the first of the pics, enjoy. http://www.shutterdriven.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=9845
  9. It was not a hard gate to miss; I never saw it and walked back to the crew working it to see what I had actually missed. Then I wiped out 5 cones on my second run. No help for the handicapped.
  10. You are not alone. Cones wiped me out too. Oddly, I didn't hit a cone in the afternoon.
  11. Results are up: http://www.oregonrally.com/files/RX_4_13_08.pdf Great job ORG.
  12. Nice pics Connie. I'm sorry we couldn't talk more. A pleasure finally putting a face to the posts. I'm sure I won't see you again before you head back east, so have a pleasant stay and a good return trip.
  13. Craig and I visited the rallycross field this evening. Interesting condition; field is pretty dry except for the large puddles of water in some spots. With tomorrow being quite warm and dry, Sunday's run will be quite dry unless they bring the water truck.
  14. Welcome back, Caleb. Nice to see you around again.
  15. Hi Jerry, I would have to have been senile not to figure it out; but anyway it was fun while it lasted. Pamela should explore the other forums as well and decide where she wants to enrich herself.
  16. Safe trip Connie. Sleep on the plane. Looks like the weather might warm up for your arrival.
  17. I have a set of these for sale in the FS forum. They are 15"x7" width and 34mm offset. The reduced offset gives a wider stance since the tires are further out than stock. They came off a '98 Legacy and I bought them before I realized the significance of the offset. They are fine for most Subarus but there is that issue of long term reliability resulting from pre-mature wear on the wheel bearings.
  18. I think he's mis-reading something here. Most American Racing wheels for the Subaru are 38mm offset; they will fit but the reduced offset has the potential of premature wheel bearing failure.
  19. 14" wheels were the stock size on the early Legacy and Impreza. Nothing wrong with them and they will work just fine on those models. Later models went to 15" and 16" to accomodate the larger front brakes and the desire of "bigger is better." I run 16" WRX wheels on my '97 Impreza with low profile tires to keep the odometer error to a minimum and they look just fine. However, I run 14" wheels on the same car for rallycross to reduce weight and because 14" tires are less expensive than 15" sizes (besides I don't know of anyone who makes 16" rally tires that I could afford).
  20. PM'd my guess. Welcome to the board.
  21. 14mm offset is unacceptable. OEM alloys in a 14" size run 50 to 55mm offsets. I suspect the 14mm offset is a typo.
  22. Yes, check qman's post about Jason and Subiegal. Either would ship to you. I deal mostly with Jason and his toll free # is 1-866-528-5282.
  23. Aftermarket versus OEM is an issue that comes up often here. There is significant anecdotal evidence to support OEM parts (especially the thermostat and PCV) to convince me. If you're not convinced, that's your perogative. As to the cost differential, I buy all my OEM parts from my favorite on-line dealer in Auburn, WA. Even with the $5 shipping cost, there isn't a significant price differential for me to consider aftermarket for these two items.
  24. I mis-read his original post and didn't realize that he had also swapped transmissions. Generally speaking, if you swap engines use the original manifold so as not to confuse the ECU.
  25. Best place down your way is Pacific Import Auto in Tacoma. 1-253-536-0389. They are open Tuesday through Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday. Today is a good day to call and talk to Dave or Steve. Tell him you got it off the USMB.
