  1. Chux, may I recomend spending the night in the Cabela's parking lot? I know they alow people to camp there overnight, so no one will bother you. you can just get off at the Clinton Falls exit, just north of Owatonna. Take a right at the end of the off ramp, and then at the stop sign, take a left. I think the camping parking lot is the one on the south side of the store. See you tommorow, Kurt
  2. Hello! I am trying to fix my air conditioning before I head down to the Midwest meet today. I got the things I need to convert it over to the new r134a. I removed the r12 from the system, an dnot i am tring to add the ester oil charge. I have the hose hooked up, but the oil charge does not seem to be going into the compressor. What are some things i can check? Any help is appreciated! Kurt
  3. The wife and I are going to stay at a hotel in Ames Friday night, although we might stil make it to the campgrounds Friday night to say hi to everyone. We wil be there for the show on Saturday for sure! Good times, good times! Kurt
  4. I am really excited! I am going to do a few last minute things to the Brat, but I took all day Friday off! The wife just has the afternoon off, so we will probably be down in time for dinner. Is everybody just doing their own thing for food? Not to sound like a drunk, but is alcahol allowed in the campground? I know its not allowed in some state parks. Anyways, I am really looking forward to meeting everybody! Kurt
  5. Hello! Do all xt6's come with a limited slip differental? And would that be a direct bolt in for my 85 Brat? Thanks, Kurt P.S. Are there any other really good parts a person should snag off of these when they find them in junk yards?

  13. Alright, just a little update on how I turned out incase anyone comes across this problem in the future. There were two things I found wrone, one was a inline fuse holder that the insulation was wearing away on. We checked the ohms, and they went all over the board when we wiggled the wires around! The other problem was a short on the back of the printed circut board. I dont know if I had scratched it when installing the gauges the first time, or what, but we soldered in a jumper wire, and now its as good as new! Kurt
  14. Knock Knock Whos there? Bump! Anyone haven any ideas? I dont belive that the ea81 cars had a gauge plug on the firewall like Karen speaks off, plus my temp and oil pressure gauges seem to work okay. The only specific ground wire I found is a black wire with an eyelet on the end. Does anyone know where this is supposed to go? I had it mounted to my parking brake cable mount, which seemed to be a good ground according to my multimeter. Also, is it possible to switch the two round plugs that mount to the back of the dash? I was wondering if it would have been a possibility that I have them hooked up backwards! Thanks again for any help or advise! Kurt
  15. what sets the rocky mountian edtion apart from a regular outback? Thanks, Kurt
  16. Okay, I just went and filled up on gas (how embarassing would that be to just be out of gas the whole time?!), and took the brat for a long drive. After 10 minutes of driving 30 mph, the gauge slowly rose to almost half a tank. The volt gauge also went up from 10 volts to about 13. This lasted for a few minutes, then back to no gas and 10 volts. So I am thinking it is a bad ground someware. I replaced the negative battery cable, with no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions on specific places I should check for bad grounds? Thanks again, Kurt
  17. Hey everyone! I just got done swaping dashboard and gauges from my parts car to my 85 Brat. Everything seems to work okay, except that the fuel guage doesnt work, and the voltage gauge seems to be reading a little low. Everything worked okay before in both cars. Any help or advice is apreciated! Kurt By the way, the gauges are analoge, not digital!
  18. Yep, mine does the exact same thing! Better to be too cool then too hot, I figure! Kurt
