  1. Welcome! The more Minnesota members, the better! I live in south central Mn, but I do make it to the cities quiet offten, so let me know if you need brat parts! Did you buy the Brat that was on Ebay in Kenyon? Kurt
  2. Hello! I am looking for the oe part number for the little plastic clips that go underneath the tailgate chrome on a 1985 Brat. I tried looking them up on 1st subaru, but they dont list the brat under collision parts! Thanks, Kurt
  3. Hello again! I was wondering what others have replaced their original Bridgestone Potenzas with? I really like the raised white letter look, but the tires seem to be more of a summer/touring tread. Being in Minnesota, I need something that will do well in the snow and rain. Thanks, Kurt
  4. I still love it! Four days and counting! I have heard roumors that Subaru is going to discontinue the Baja after 06! I hope that doesnt happen, I think its a great vehicle, and plus, I think it would looK great based off of the new Outbacks! Kurt
  5. Who-ho for me! I new it was just a matter of time before I found the right Baja, and it happend last Tuesday night! It is black over silver, and it has the upgraded speakers with tweeters and sub, plus a tonue cover and bed extender! I love to drive it, and I have had fun showing it off to all the freidns and family. I told the salesperson that i also have an 1985 Brat. I said "This is like the modern day version of the Brat, but the back seat riders get to sit inside this time!" Anyways, its all good (is that even cool to say anymore?), as long as I can keep the wife from stealing it! Yep, I told myself that someday I would get one since I saw the Orange STX concept at the 2000 auto show. Kurt http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=5735&sort=1&cat=500&page=1
  6. Very nice car! By the way, I have spare sunroof glass, if you ever want it. Thanks, Kurt
  7. Please note: That is NOT this Kurt "deing an idiot!" Kurt (The non-idiot one that doesnt own a Liberty!)
  8. I do have a window in the 86 Brat that I am parting out that opens in the middle. If you are interested, it may be for sale or trade. I know that it is aftermarket, and you still may be able to order a new one from an auto glass shop. But that wouldnt have all the cool stickers on it like mine! Kurt
  9. We look forward to seeing you in Minnesota! Sounds like rain off and on all week here. Hope you have a good trip, and I hope a meet and greet will work out! Kurt
  10. We could smell fumes in the interior of our 01 outback. When we opened the hood, we discovered that the oil cap was missing! We had just had the car in a day before to get the oil changed, and the kid must have left it off! Needless to say, he is no longer there! Kurt
  11. Problem fixed! Okay, on my 85 BRAT there are two of them. On each there is a metal line that screws in to the valve. Just unscrew those, put a quarter in, and screw them back on! I found that on the drivers side, it was easier to just pull the whole valve and metal line off at once, then disconect it out of the car. If anyone ever need help on this, just drop me a pm and I'll do my best to go into more detail! It solved the problem, and it only cost $.50! Coming soon, pics of the finished ehxahust setup! Thanks, Kurt
  12. Yes, I "forgot" to replace the cat when I redid the exhaust. That makes perfect sense just to take the asv off, I dont know why I didnt think of that before! There are no emissions to pass here in Minnesota, so its no big deal. Thanks, Kurt
  13. Boy, that Brat sure looks cool with the dirt bike riding in the back! Sounds like you guys have discovered why everyone loves Subarus! Versatility! Kurt
  14. Hey everyone! I just got done installing free flowing exhaust on my 85 Brat, and now I am gettng the backfires. I did a search, and it seems that the auto suction valve can be a common problem. I heard someone mentioning the quarter trick, and I was wondering exactly what hoses I need to put the quarters in? I see the suction valve, and it had one small vac. line on top, then in the middle, there is a good sized hose that goes to some sort of a canister. Below that, there is a metal line that goes down to where the manifolds bolt up. So, I assume that I need to put a quarter in the middle hose, that goes to the canister. Is this correct? Also, do I neet to put a quarter in the hose that goes out of the canister? Thanks, Kurt
  15. 14th of May? Sounds like a great time for another meet and great, and possibly some of that good tutionos pizza? We'd all be happy to welcome you to Minnesota as a future resident! Just dont expect to got to the jy's and see alot of ea81 stuff sitting around! Kurt
  16. Yes, Jibs, I do belive you need another Brat! Please start sockpiling them, we need to save all we can! When can we expect the Brat museum to open?
  17. Boy, I think that looks killer! I have always wanted to see a bar like that on an outback sport.Soobmater, I think your signature would make a great bermashave sign series! Kurt
  18. Dude, is your room the parts depatment warehouse? Thats frikin' cool!
  19. My vote is for in August, so I can get the most done on my Brat before I show it off! But I am going to try to make it no matter when it is! Kurt
  20. I ran into this problem on my 86 Brat, and it turned out that there was alot of corrosion and junk in my fuel tank. I took a rust free tank off of a hatchback and put it under there. I never had any more problems with it! The hatch back tank isnt as long, so I had to make a bracket for the rear bolt holes. The front bolt holes lined up. Also, when you do this, make sure to change your filters! There are two, one under the hood, and one under the box, on the drivers side. I am not sure what is causing your brake loss, but best of luck to you! DOnt give up, or else they(?) win! Kurt
  21. I have had alot of luck with spray lithium grease in the tracks! Woked good for me! Kurt
  22. Dont leave your car parked in the ghetto, or those tight wheels will be jacked fur sure! Kurt
  23. Last Decemember, there was a meet and greet at the ol' tutiono's pizza/Archemedie's shop. If I remember right, there was a guy who just moved to Mn with a Brat that was thinking about going. And if I remember even more righter, Arch had left a note on his Brat asking if he wanted to sell it! Kurt
