Having trouble with xt6.net
joostvdw replied to richardstanley's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
it's already fixed you addicts (alright alright, I admit, I was also checking every 2 mins if it would load...) -
sorry to burst your bubble, but my guess is he wasn't seriously racing you, or the turbo didn't spool in time always cool to try though, I always do anyway :-p
-
I thought you were going EJ on the RX? you never seem to make up your mind do you?
-
oh yeah why not, just shovel some more cash towards it I think it is great you are willing to spend so much time and money on something you end op blowing up again j/k but now more serious, I really do think you are doing a good job, I might have done some things differently but it's the results that count
-
you can always put a new piston in and have a almost new SOA short block

2wd tranny not going into 1st?

try shifting into reverse first and then into first gear, it works the other way around if reverse doesn't work like mine -
Gen 2 turn signals stopped flashing

blinker relay? that would be my first guess, or the connections going towards it. -
you are right gary, I did solve the worst part of the stumble/shaking, it was a timing belt being off 3 tooths on 1 side, but it still has the same stumble, only 10% of what it used to be and mentis, yes, you are right, joints like that can get a car shaking, but like gary said, it's also at idle and not speed related but rpm related. I was working on installing a BOV today and I heard something odd, maybe it has something to do with my stumble; at idle, I can hear a slight burp or hickup coming from the intake, it's quite faint, so it's definately not a backfire, almost sounds like flapper valve or something shutting on occasion, not that there is any valve there

remember that I live on the other side of the world, so that last 10 hours I've been sleeping, that's why you didn't get a answer, don't draw conclusions too fast. and as I said earlier, plugs and wires are fine, it's not a miss, I know how that feels, it kind of feels like when my cam timing was 3 tooths off, only less shaking this time, I'm positive I got the cams right this time though.

drive belts? you mean the one going to the alt and waterpump? running without that would mean no water circ right? what's the logic behind that?

Seafomed, my first timer use..
joostvdw replied to Indrid cold's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
usually the brake booster hose is used, because it is large and easily accesed. -
rotor, plugs, cap, all is new, and it doesn't missfire or anything, just runs rough, I can feel the rpm's really good through the GO-pedal :-p
-
hey any progress to report? I'm constantly checking for progress, I really want to see (or actually, HEAR!) this happen! great work, keep up!
-
I have the same with my EA82T, my guess is motor mounts, because the whole car shakes with the engine, at every RPM
-
if you really want to use a flow meter, you can mount one in the supply line and one in the return line, then calculate the difference you just have to use some electronics to do this calculating for you and display the results flow meters are expensive though, just thought I might warn you.

weld a pipe inside your cat, it will still look like the original cat
-
you can also lean out the mixture on emissions day and enrichen to the normal level for day to day driving.
-
it's definately doable, it just depends on how much work you want to put into it I've seen cars with throttle on the left (physically impaired), so just spacing the pedals can't be that hard if you were to remove the pedal box, cut the pedals you want to modify and just weld in a piece on a 90 degree angle, (or perhaps more like a Z shape) you'll be fine
-
oh yeah, well, I'm from the netherlands "smoking" in the car isn't THAT illegal here, so I never thought of it...
-
I'm sorry, but I kinda miss the point on the "air conditioning"? I can think of a couple of things, but none seem very logical
-
BUT, if it has U-bolts, you can easily remove it to test without the stupid thing.
-
a quick check would be to just to unbolt the cat and run it around for a bit, if it runs better, your cat is plugged (boy this sounds stupid ) instead of poking a hole through your cat, you can cut it in half, gut it, and weld it up again, I did that on my XT, just to find out it was empty it had the shape and heatshields of a cat, it just wasn't.

I believe it was steveman09 (the guy with the emanage results) who had a special clutch made and was very happy with it, you should speak with him his latest thread was something like, "AWD installed and XT6 tranny" it was recent.

EA82T, Easy 130-140hp? (not asking for directions)
joostvdw replied to Zer0d's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
.7 bar will be fine, my car runs stock .6/.7 so that won't be a problem, 14psi is more like 1 bar, and that may be a problem (wait for will's response, he knows )
