  1. What I did for the sami case was use these parts from the samurai; 1- complete shaft minus the transmission slip joint and two bearing caps/needle bearings and then just use the subaru slip joint with 2 subaru caps/needle bearings, assembled onto the samurai cross link. I will try and get pictures up later tonight. Matt
  2. I actually was trying to stay away from copper due to myself being lazy right now, but is it looking like the way to go since soldering and copper is easier and cheaper than the flexible stuff. Matt
  3. In my 84 wagon I had no lift with the radiato on top of the engine, it did fit but was really close to the engine. So then it went in front of the it all, but looked funny, so now it is going to the back. Matt
  4. Does anybody know where to get decent lengths of 1.25" semi flexible coolant lines? Something to connect the engine to the radiator? I am putting my radiator in the back of the car and cannot find anything for less than $22.00 per foot. I have searched the area around me and have come up with nothing. Thanks, Matt
  5. I found out they run approx. $70.00 dollars a set for the lines and fittings. That dosent include shipping thought, but I might be able to get the sales folk to make some sort of deal. Matt
  6. I will look tomorrow at work to see how much they will run. How long do you want them? We stock them up to about 30 inches long with AN-3 fittings on the ends. Here is the link to our website, but I dont think there is any information there. http://www.precisionbrakescompany.com Matt
  7. But from one picture it looks like a DOHC motor, so now ER-27T . Maybe a bored/stroked 2.5L? Matt
  8. The White wire is the one you want to use, the second is a sheilded ground wire so the computer dosent pick up noise. So you will want to just splice the universal sensor into the white wire as close to the O2 Sensor, as to retain the sheilding. Matt
  9. Here is the conversion I just got. 1,200.00 CAD 1,016.02 USD Are you actually going to do it? Matt
  10. Arn't the vanagon diesel engines inline, aka the same as the jetta, golf...... Matt
  11. I talked to the local VW people at work and they say that the later 2 bolt super beetle cartridges are the ones, post august 73 cartidges. Also I found a 1981ish toyota starlet front cartridge will fit into a stock body(with the replacable cartridge) and has 8.875" travel, at least according to the monroe book. But I ordered one and it has 8 inches of travel. But for a direct replacement(with the factory replacable cartridges) even easier for people that don't have access to a welder. Matt
  12. Get a coat hanger, bend a slight hook in the end, insert the coat hanger hook first from the middle of the window, move the hook toward the rear of the door, and snag what ever you can, and pull. My first time i didn't even realize that it opened, I thought that it was just hanging up on random junk in the door. But it was open. Matt
  13. My engine spins approximately 210,000 reveloutions. in my 45 min commute down the highway, thats over 11 miles the pisons travel. And that dosen't bother me, just kind of suprised. Matt
  14. We ran a pict-30 on a EA-81 and it had way better low end torque than the webber. but then the head gasket went and so the carb is now living on a sprint. Matt
  15. Where is it? I think it would way be worth rescuing. Matt
  16. He is actually running a EJ motor mated to a EA-82 box, but go one step further and mate WRX motor and box to the justy and you have.... http://sites.rapidus.net/lheureum/justywrx/english.html Matt
  17. I have done the MSnSpark on and ER-27 in my 84 GL, and currently have it running. No EDIS at this time due to a shortage of parts in the valley(and the car running off of the disty). So far it runs great, but crappy when cold(no Fast Idle Solenoid), and still fine tuning the maps. I also am working on a program that will "tune" the fuel maps on the fly right now but am working out the bugs. If any body wants a copy, I will upload it when it is working to my satifaction. Matt
  18. The one major problem I see is that the transfercase portion on a suby trans axle just engages the rear drive shaft. The lower gearing actually happens right off the bat on the input shaft on the transmission, before the power can even get to the cluster of gears. Matt And also the two would yeild a 1.96:1 low gear.
  19. You just need any sort of 'trigger' so MS can calculate RPM and Timing if you are doing the spark side also. I am using a modified wheel and optical sensor inside the stock disty on the ER-27, and on the EF-12T I used a 7 pin HEI module in conjuction with the VR sensor. Matt
  20. If you plan on using EDIS or any ignition control in the future then just load the extra code before you get started and just play with the fuel half for now. You can reconfigure the MS to run the stock sensors using the easytherm program but you will still need to add a IAT sensor. And you can use the stock computer to run the ignition and have the MS control the injection half, or install the extra code and have MS do all the duties for ignition and injection. It is all pretty simply if you take you time and have the computer in front. Matt
  21. I believe he was trying for transversely mounted aka sideways mounted engine. Quote: Originally Posted by Jibs ...You will have to deal with the fact that the Justy has inverted 3 cylinder as well... Matt
  22. The driveshafts in the car turn counter clockwise from the rear while the car is moving foward. So I am corrected from above. Matt
  23. Or you can just keep the disty for now and have it trigger the MS, just to get it running or do it all at once so you cant procrastinate doing it. Matt
  24. If you dont mind building it try http://www.glensgarage.com/He sells an excellent kit for all the ECU stuff you need. Matt
  25. Ok this is what I rember, The front diff in the old hardbady cars are all R-180's. some were 3.9:1 but most were 4.36:1 and some 4.??:1, or somwhere in between. I here that there are front LSD's from the factory and lockers(air or automatic) and LSD's availble aftermarket. Also look for the late 80's trucks with the solid stubshafts that have a snapring holding it in, that way you can use VLSD R-160 diff stubs in the diff so they are solid. All driveshaft turn the same way no matter if they are in the front or the back it dosent matter what car it is, or I have not seen any that reverse one side in the T-Case(or that dont spin the 'common' direction). I believe that it was clockwise if looking from the back but dont hold me to that. Matt
