  1. I had the same problem on my RX and it turned out to be the plenum going to the intake was loose and when it would almost create boost it would blow off and vent all sorts of 'metered' air into the engine bay. Matt
  2. I would second the megasquirt also, way more tunable and if a problem arrises then 'you' can solve it. Matt
  3. On my justy and ER-27 I have found that taking little steps and seeing what all it affects will make it way quicker in the long run. Also remeber were you started so when you go the wrong way it is easy to go back. I would say go with the wideband O2 if you can afford it. Matt
  4. I would rather rally my justy over anything else, it is very nimble handleing and all the roads feel like there much bigger. If you want to wheel it put a skidplate on the front, take the swaybars off and advance the timing a bit and have fun. They are great cars for most everything. And yes the turbo power is incredible, and semi reliable. Matt
  5. I am almost done putting one in a stock 84 wagon, you will need to get rid of the hill holder valve and make some sort of new mount for the engine due to the mounts being a little an inch farther forward and a little wider. Mine I am putting the radiator on the top of the engine and going to run a megasquirt computer. Also the top core support will need to be cut out and the lower needs to be "clearenced for the filter and pressure sender. Matt
  6. I hear it is ok if you mount it vertically but otherwise dont waste you money, it will run good then let you down. Matt
  7. Subadoom and I are workin on converting a brat over to just LPG. So far it is extremely do-able, and so far are about 100 dollars into it for a used Impco CA-100 mixer and a new model J converter. We just need the tank and fuel lock with a couple little pieces of hardware and it should be up and running. Matt
  8. I have one on my justy that is mainly a light bar and skid plate and soon will house the winch mount, I will get pictures later when I can. Matt
  9. If you have problems finding it let me know and I will show you, I am about 3 min. away from gold hill. Matt
  10. Are you sure it didnt break off the crankshaft? The only pulley on the cam shaft is the on that is driven from the crank to make it spin. If it is the crank then as long as the crank shaft isnt broken off(highly unlikley) and the end isnt all bugered up then just go fin your self a new pulley and key. Matt
  11. What where did you see this car and when, also color? I would like to try and find it. Matt
  12. Mine had over 2000 miles on a used clutch and only had a problem when I would shift gears real hard, or while changing gears with the tires spinnin'. I was runing 2" PVC for the intake charge and it would rub on the hood every now and then. Matt
  13. Does anybody know where the timing mark on the pulley is in relation to either the dowl pin or the key? Or any other reference on the pulley, my pulley dosent have the mark on it. Matt
  14. If it has a Varible Reluctor it is not a turbo disty, turbos had optical disty's so the computer could 'see' where the crankshaft is in its rotation. Matt
  15. Cant do it the 5th. have to work but sundays are always good expecially in the morn. Matt
  16. Where in CP are you and how hardcore do you want to go? Right now I could get a couple of stock people together and go but all the big rigs are down for now. Matt
  17. Stub Shafts are the weakest link right now from my experience. Matt
  18. #1 The dirveshaft spins CW if you are looking from the back I believe like all cars. #3 The eariler pickups that have a bolt in stub shaft, have the same spline count as the subaru ones and they will fit in. But the bearing race diameter is different(I have put the stubs in but never tried driving it). The main problem I see is finding one with the right ratio. I hear though that the actually shaft uses the same spline count as the nissian outer so just use our outer joints and the nissian shaft with inner joint and stub. Matt
  19. If the car still drives or not and you are looking to get rid of it let me know, just needs to be reasonably priced. Matt
  20. It should be on the transmission on one side near the rear of it. What tranny is it? Matt
  21. If you know were a EA-82 turbocharger is for reasonably cheap, or about 15 dollarsish. Matt
  22. I have one on my silver car with the thrown rod, sunday I will go get it. Matt
  23. I would say to anybody out there tinking about doing this, if you take your time and are able to follow directions, do it. I have been contimplating this since I first saw it about a year and a half ago and have always been sort of hesistant. But after just ordering the kit and doing it and actually have it running in front of me I would say go for it. The assembly isnt that hard if you have some time and a cleanish area to work on it. Matt
