  1. well its replacing a few beaters. I will try to keep it nice. I found the rear seat cupholders to be MIA when i flipped down the hinged door to access them, no cupholder arms. When i bought the 04 outback heated seats for my BRAT, I bought the center console thinking i would use it in my BRAT (that didnt fit) and so I locate the center console in my parts stash, and it has cupholders. Remove them, remove the broken one in the 06, and guess what, they are the same except for the door cover which the 06 is light tan and the 04 was brown. I snapped off the covers, swapped them and made a good cupdholder with the right color and installed it. already getting things done to make it even better. first project will be deer lights mounting somehow. I still got the brand new 96-99 subaru oem foglights (rectangle) and tinkered around with where to mount them, grill seems to be good. But I may just get the Hella 500 and do that as I know they would be bright.
  2. thanks bought the car on a Sunday (october 3 or 4th) and payment didnt clear til Friday that week (the bank screwed up the wire transfer the first time). that delay....followed by a shipping company that took 15 days to tell me they coudlnt locate a driver. then i had to call a new shipping company since the first one couldnt do the job, and then that 2nd shipper ended up having the car on the hauler with cars behind it that had to go 760 miles west of me, so then they finally got it to me..... whew. the car came from east and ended up all the way to Denver before getting to me on Nov. 3rd night lol
  3. Ben. someone here in town plans to buy it for a daughter, but they have yet to come up with the cash til next weekend. so a better hurry type thing cuase they said they might have the cash by Friday. I dont think they will take very good care of it, they need a car under 2g and this fits their bill. I would rather it go to someone who knows subarus but with my outback here, there is no reason to keep the 92 SS I have advertised this on a few other boards, and nothing yet, so my motivation to sell to whoever needs a car in this price range.
  4. I like it so far. This will be the new winter beater for me so the BRAT and SVX stays out of the salt. My big 95 pound dog already jumped in the backseat with muddy feet when i wasnt watching when the door was open. Already disconnected the daytime running lights module, and turned the gauge sweep function off. Took the dogs for a car ride (both in the far back) and the backseat has 3 headrests, so one dogs head was between the left and center headrest, the other dogs head was between the right and center headrest. Kinda cute i will probably need to get a pet gate but they did stay in the very back. Have oem Subaru all weather mats to go in, waiting for snow forcast before i put them in. BTW this replaced the 83 GL which was sold last weekend. Still have my 92SS for sale as this replaces it too.
  5. 06 Outback, winter package (heated seats, mirrors, windshield) with new tires one owner 88k miles, clean title. Even has compass mirror with auto dim. deal of the year. $x,xxx.xx took over a month to get it here but this is it.
  6. very nice. We should have a easy to medium difficulty offroad day somewhere in the middle between Iowa and Arkansas, I would be willing to do a drive in my BRAT (i have the same lift kit),
  7. I think someone said a voltage regulator/circuit breaker before the digi dash to keep the voltage at a constant level somehow. like a surge protector to keep high power, unstable power surges out of the digi dash parts. hopefuly someone has electronics parts number or something.
  8. thats a pretty big mouse turd eh. that hunk of metal was put there by the factory.. Only it was part of a gear/bearing and not supposed to do that. And you are out of warranty. trying to make things better somehow. I guess you will have to find a tranny then, or else keep driving it til it gets worse. might go for a long while, depending on where that turd came from.
  9. i think the ski wagon model had the ea81. Mcbrat might know.
  10. wagon or sedan? this should be the ej22 right? I think if the tires are decent, no rust, could be a good ride. what are you going to do with Guido?
  11. manual windows. Man i thought all the legacy's had power everything, i know the 91-94 series everything was power. Does this even have a tach? need pics to determine value, or kbb.com
  12. got my first turbo legacy (94 turbo wagon) about 6 years, or 7 yrs ago. then got a 93 turbo sedan auto with a bad tranny, to sell for profit after i fixed it (yay), then got my 92 SS 5spd. then decided to sell the 94 turbo wagon. now my 92 SS is for sale, getting out of the too fast and premium fuel only cars. my 06 outback arrived today. no need for fast turbod cars as a daily driver. i am getting older...not wanting to pump the premium gas at out of town stations. My town has one gas station, only selling 87 and 89 octane, NO PREMIUm, so the turbo i have to plan my gas fillups for when i am out of town where they have premium. Not a good thing when you cant buy the gas required without a 10 mile drive. yes i knew they required premium. I got a bad batch of gas once that was priced as premium, but for sure it was not. Car knocked, bucked, i called the gas station hotline to report the bad gas. Well, about 2 years after, that station is shut down. probably that batch of gas burned a exhaust valve never did get the same mileage after that fill-up.
  13. driving that trail in reverse would be even more exciting
  14. its not safe. you can blow out the side of your exhaust valves, or the top of the piston when it detonates. Either run premium, or get rid of the car and get something not requiring premium.
  15. i google searched speaker spacers and came up with these. They look kinda like strut top mount spacers too
  16. This all will depend on how much "pressure" you exhibited on the TC when it was out too far. Were you really squishing them together tightly with the engine to tranny bolts when trying to mate them? If you put a lot of pressure force on it, you probably DESTROYED the transmission pump. not good.. but if you didnt go to far, then it might be okay. you need to wiggle, rotate wiggle rotate, the torque converter into place there are threads on how to do it. Its a learning experience, hope you did not ruin your transmission. You maybe should consider not doing this kind of work if its your only transportation, unless you just want to learn how things work the hard way.
  17. if anyone is going to do welding on the car for any reason, do it after.
  18. CAP a year ago http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp132/bheinen74/denver%20subie%20junkyard/
  19. plywood will also work, make a donut. MDF will get moisture in it and crumble. I recommend something made of plastic or polymers to prevent the crumbling when it gets moisture around it.
  20. you just need to install a spacer ring between the back of the speaker and the mounting surface. even several thick washer collars behind them inside the mount screws will work, but spacer rings will make the air seal and speakers will sound better with the solid ring. Or, you could just buy proper speakers with shallow mount and not do anything else.
  21. without the car running, and the car in neutral, front end in the air, can you test something on the right side? turn the wheel round and round, is there noise. Put a screwdriver up to the front spring coil, does it vibrate when you are turning the tire? Does the tire feel wobbly when you tug at the very top or very bottom and try to shake the tire? Bearing? i think once we elminate this stuff, maybe we can find out if you have a bad axle or something within the trans.with the front up, you can compare both sides results.
  22. http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp132/bheinen74/denver%20subie%20junkyard/ that one is in Denver.
