  1. I have an EJ25 shortblock that I am wanting to pull the pistons out of. I already have the oil pan off. How do I go about pulling these pistons out and will I need any special tools?
  2. I didn't think '95 model vehicles would return with OBDII check engine codes.
  3. After doing some searching, I seem to have found the cause of my sticky rev issue at cold startup. If I don't give the car about 2 or 3 minutes of sitting idling it will hang rpms when I push the clutch in and make shifting annoying and difficult. Whats the best way to clean this thing on my car? I cleaned the one on my 91 Legacy and it seemed pretty straight forward. I believe it is the piece on top of my throttle body that meets the intake manifold. Thanks, Kyle
  4. The 2001 Forester is going to be MAP based, just like the RS's. So that means that 98-99 is MAF where as the 00-01 is MAP.
  5. Got an email from them today and it said my credit card had been refunded. It has yet to be reflected on the credit card but we will see tomorrow. Also got a message sent to me today on Nasioc from a guy stating that he got a similar kit from the same company and that he doesn't have high beams either. Told him just to send them back and pray for a refund.
  6. Its easier to say: "Sorry dude, I don't like lending my car out" than it is to replace a clutch. I'm not fussing at you man, just trying to help save you some trouble at a later date.
  7. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=79590 The J hooks I bought for the topper I bought at first did not line up with the tie downs in the bed. I later got a gem top that had them with it. In the link you will see the J hooks I got at Lowes. They were over in the nuts and bolts section. They didn't work then so I took them back and used the tie down straps.
  8. Well said man. I put my silverstars back in the other day when I was pulling the HID kit from my car at the Subaru shop. The kit was bought for me as a Christmas present and I wasn't going to be a BRAT and gripe too much about getting 8000ks. I am probably going to end up going with either 6000k or 4300k with yellow skins on my fogs.
  9. You tell the guy he smoked the clutch in your car and he should come over and help you replace it?
  10. Here in Tennessee we got enough problems with prescription drug abuse for the police to care about what headlights Kyle has in his Subaru. To prove a point. Back in the summer when I was getting my windows tinted I called over to the police department (work IT for the City) and inquired about the legal tint law. They were under the impression that as long as the front two windows were 35%. Upon further web searching I discovered that its 35% all around. Also, who are they to tell me my headlights aren't OEM? 04-05 STi has HIDs in a non-projector housing, along with the idiots in the Prius.
  11. I am just shipping them back to the company from which they came. I am not exporting the package so it shouldn't be a problem.
  12. Jordan, I appreciate the offer. I got the wife chauffeuring me around for a while. I am just glad it broke when it did, not on the side of the road going to school.
  13. Got it ready to go back tomorrow morning, both kits are packed up. I wonder what kind of crap they will give me when they are delivered. Was it that hard?!
  14. More than likely you will have an external head gasket leak and will leak coolant or like I did, spew coolant all over your engine bay.
  15. It will be legal after this evening. I got to go pull my old ones off my car that is in the shop getting the head gaskets and water pump replaced. I am shipping both the kits back to them and putting the old ones in, I will get a new kit from someone locally eventually. I am not worried about them being road legal as the police here are very uninformed.
  16. DO NOT BUY FROM http://www.hidxenonheadlights.com/ Here are the replacement parts I got sent in the mail, to the wrong address. The website shows a pretty enclosure, this is what you will get. I am sending both kits back and going with someone else, this is downright crap. This is my $160 screw over. What their website shows:
  17. You sure its not an EA82? Never heard of an EA86.
  18. Look for Miles' great youtube tutorials on EA82 maintenance. They helped me kill a slow afternoon at work.
