  1. I checked on the my.subaru page and they had previously put the HG treatment in the car. I needed to get the coolant changed because the car came from Georgia and was only rated for 20 degrees.
  2. Please tell me you got some pictures of it.
  3. It was doing fine up until the day I sold the BRAT to buy my RS. I say go with it man. I used the same technique for tightening the water pump bolts as you do with lug nuts. Start with one bolt then go to the opposite side.
  4. Here is my thread from last year: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=87147 It should get you going. I took the gasket and coated it with RTV before I put it on there. I did have to seal up a bolt a couple weeks with some more RTV. In all reality, my cooling problem was a $5.00 radiator cap.
  5. I had my RS's coolant changed at the start of winter. They told me that the new (green) subaru coolant came with the HG treatment already in it.
  6. EA81's do not have an overflow tank. They just overflow onto the ground. Make sure and catch all the coolant that drains out when you are taking this thing off. Don't want to be causing extra trouble for yourself. Also make sure and follow the correct burping procedures or you will get stuck with a big air pocket in your system. If you do use RTV make sure and let it cure for more than a hour before firing it up.
  7. Really good advice. Remember to get the surface where the old water pump was nice and clean. That old gasket material is hard to get off. I used black RTV for the gasket. 5 10mm bolts and your off, just be careful with them bolts.
  8. Wait till you rattle GeneralDisorder's cage. My point was to get the most relevant information to the original poster in the fewest posts as possible.
  9. ^ Useless post. Here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15309&highlight=speaker+size
  10. Correct, do NOT waste your time on aftermarket junk.
  11. Looking good. Make sure and get a video of it in action.
  12. Start searching for an XT6 for doing the five lug swap.
  13. Nice solar setup, Les Stroud would be proud.
  14. Cheers for not driving like a douche when given something like that. Most people would have been doing doughnuts in the Arby's parking lot on the way home.
  15. Take that Stant thermostat out and take it back. Order a new thermostat and a gasket from the Subaru dealer and start back over from square one.
  16. So did they come out and say they would sell you new wheels? You sure it just wasn't a sales pitch?
  17. I love the LSD with the question mark, could put that on my car.
