  1. In my opinion, and some might not agree with me. The t-tops really make the BRAT. You would be a lot happier if you have them.
  2. Yeah man, got them on my RS and 91 Legacy. I noticed a difference when I put them on my Legacy.
  3. Little caveat: In 84 some auto GL Brats came solid roof. Old guy I worked with had one.
  4. Don't want to be the bringer of bad news. Did you see this? http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1648372
  5. I believe the 98 will have the DOHC engine which is notorious for blowing the headgaskets violently. I would just assume throwing down on a new motor.
  6. 270,000 on my BRAT when I sold it, but I swapped the cluster to one from 75k.
  7. I still don't understand how those things can cost $5,000. They do look like fun though. I bet if you stopped fast enough in it you could do a stoppie.
  8. My 84 Hatch's rear cabin light would come on when you blowed the horn. That wasn't annoying at night.
  9. Looks like the exhaust broke off right from the Y pipe. Wonder how about someone riding in the jump seats would take that kind of crash.
  10. Replace the alternator first thing and still see if the problem still exists. My second thought would be MAF.
  11. Judging by your screen name I can only assume that you have a 360. I would love to see some pictures of your WRX with the old 360. Kinda like an old meets sort of thing.
  12. I had a hard time driving the car when I first got it. I have owned several manual transmission cars, drove countless WRX's and never had any trouble till I got this one. Will do some pedal looking this weekend if I get time.
  13. Well that does make things interesting. The clutch fluid is fine, I put a new slave cylinder on it in November. One of the techs at the dealership drove it and thought it was really weird too. I will give it some looking over this weekend when I get some time. I do have a squeak when I push in on my clutch. I greased the point at which the slave cylinder nipple pushes on the work but that didn't seem to help. Its hard to diagnose inside the vehicle but I think its down inside the tranny.
  14. Well the PVC brush guard is certainly better than nothing.
  15. Thanks for the advice Evo. My clutch is hydraulic so I'm not sure if I would have that spring or not. I really doubt it though. Its not biggie, its not slipping so I'm not complaining. Thanks again.
  16. First of all my clutch does not slip at all. It is difficult to describe really how it operates. When releasing it, it feels like it has two different release points. It feels like it releases slowly and I usually end up riding the clutch. Its more of a nuisance than anything. I let a good friend of mine drive it and he said it felt like the pressure plate was not active at all. When I bought the Impreza, the dealer told me they put a clutch in it. "If" that was true, I think it had an aftermarket/performance pressure plate and they used a Subaru clutch. Anyone else help me diagnose this? Its really weird.
