Wiper Bladess
Durania replied to mrtoyou7747's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI run rain-x ones on my Impreza and my wife's Accord. They have a nice initial performance but after about a month they lose their luster. I have yet to find a wiper brand that I like though.

I enjoyed it. Get that thing back on the road for the next snow, not too many left.

why do they make timing belts so hard to install?

Need cheap ideas before towing to the shop
Durania replied to dmanaenk's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXBit of an FYI. If car is AWD make sure it is towed with all 4 wheels on the ground and in neutral or on a roll back. Or, if they must tow with the front wheels off the ground, the driveshaft is disconnected.

Watch your speed!
Durania replied to brus brother's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIts cause they can do it in their outbacks and not worry about their insurance taking a big jump. I do it in my RS or someone in an WRX/STi does it and theirs shoots up. That or the officer couldn't catch the STi.

Nextautos article: Top 10 Most Beautiful Subarus
I want to say that its not a factory BRAT color. Think someone just had it pained Impreza teal for their liking.

Guy has an 85 GL Hatch 4x4 for sale locally
If its a GL 4x4 there is a good chance that it is going to be dual range. When looking at the car and it is missing the console emblem just lift the lever till it lights up "Lo" on the dash.

+1 There will not be any timing belts as it has an EA81. Check the valve covers for a gold sticker to signify that it has hydro lifters.

Well shoot. moving from one problem to another Ea81 running hot
My mistake, I misread.

Gloyale he said it was an EA81. The secondary fan he is mentioning probably means that he has A/C, which will not run unless the A/C compressor is running.

Carfax and Opinions please: 2000 Impreza RS
Durania replied to badjer's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXJust make sure it doesn't need headgaskets and I heard the wheel bearings are notorious but have no first hand knowledge of it, just hearsay. What color are you looking at getting? I'm sure you know how rare they are, it took me 6 months of daily searching to find me one that met my criteria. Here is mine:

You are correct, two bolts hold it on and there it is. Also remember to get the Subaru gasket that goes with it. Here is a picture for reference:

The thermoswitches are notorious to go bad on these, I went through 2 of them. If its not working, you can always ground it to where it comes on with the switch. I would also replace the radiator cap while your at it, never can hurt to do that. Like The Scooby said, stick with the Subaru thermostat.

AfterMarket thermostat
Durania replied to screwbaru2's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIts better just to stick with Subaru thermostats. They are not that much different price wise and I and a majority of the board swear by them.
