  1. Remove the old bulbs once you get the cluster removed and take them to autozone or radio shack and have them find the bulb for you. What I did when I replaced all the bulbs in my BRAT.
  2. These are WRX 16's with stock REO70's on my 91 Legacy. Zero issues with rubbing and made it handle a lot better too.
  3. Thanks man. Luckily I don't owe anything on it. I sold my two BRATs, Hatchback, and a 97 Tacoma so that I could pay cash for it and still have funds left over. I do need to get a set of rotors for it as mine are warped like crazy.
  4. It is located right under where the coil would go. It should have a gray cover of it red and green wrote on the top of it. If you pull the cover off, you will have three wires inside of it. Those are your fusible links.
  5. First attempt should be finding the under dash connectors. I thought the EA81 cluster was as much fun as a root canal to pull and replace. If you do have to go this route, replace the cluster bulbs that are burned out if any.
  6. Stock motor 99,927 miles. , AEM intake that came on the car, whiteline rear sway bar, and a 5ziegen exhaust that will be traded out for my STi catback when I get time/money. 99,927 miles. I drive it 90 miles a day to business school so I can't afford to have any down time, and risk breaking things with it swapped.
  7. Connie, will you be weber swapping the new motor as well?
  8. It does sound like an appealing idea but I'm not sure about how one would go about starting one. I guess contact SOA directly would be the best bet. I assume that these would be handled like franchises and would also be based on the area that you are wanting to set it up in. I have seen where many dealers have been closing, you sure this is something you would like to do in this day and age?
  9. Thank you! Almost, 2000. I searched for six months for a Blue Ridge Pearl RS. I wanted a sedan but those are just as rare, especially in a manual transmission. Its dirty as crap right now being winter time, can't wait to detail it come spring.
  10. You have no idea how bad that made me miss my 84 Hatch. That is awesome you can run without a fan, my BRAT would have overheated at the North Pole.
  11. I guess thats not too bad of a price. The dealers around me were dropping the prices of the '08s like crazy since the '09s was more desired.
  12. I had a MAF fail on my 91 Legacy (EJ22). If you can get it to start up and run for long enough, you can tap the MAF with the handle end of a screwdriver (Slightly of course). If the idle changes then there is your problem. Did you pull your check engine codes? Another thought: We had an incident here a month ago where the driver of a Pilot fuel truck put diesel in the gas tanks and people were filling up their cars with diesel instead of gas. It is possible he got a bad batch of "something".
  13. It happens. A lot of people just assume that Subarus have been AWD since the beginning of time. I got that a lot with my 2WD hatch, "Subaru huh? So it's gotta be AWD".
  14. Yeah it was very slow and would almost stop at the top of the cycle. The replaced motor fixed the problem.
  15. I changed out the wiper motor on my old BRAT a year before I sold it. It is a real PITA. First you need to take the cowl cover off and inside you will see the output part of the wiper motor. The subaru factory service manual says to fabricate a tool so you can push the plastic tabs inward on the wiper control arms. Best I could do was two sets of needle nose pliers, don't pinch the piss out of yourself like I did. Some people have used sockets to do this. The wiper motor is held onto the firewall by three 10mm bolts if memory serves me correct
  16. That photochop is the product of Phizinza's handy work. He is a highly active member of this board too.
  17. Yes! Stick to searching for an '84, many members of this board have had similar problems where they get parts for the EA82 3-door hatch.
  18. You don't have a video of this thing running do you? I would love to hear it.
  19. Good to hear man. Keep that thing on the road, just remember the headgaskets.
