  1. Non-disposable air filters is what ruined the MAF unit in my Tacoma. P0171 FTL.
  2. The ones I purchased were made in Japan. Customers who order parts made in Korea are real particular about them. Many require a little label about the size of a green bean with "Made in Korea" written on it. Of course the German made equivalent is a good chunk of change more. I work for INA www.ina.com and our sister company operates next to us, it won't let me spell out the name of it but its a real bearing company. www.colinx.com and look for the red lettering.
  3. I bought two bearings. Plan to have them replaced, MWE axle installed, balance rotate and front end alignment tomorrow. Thanks for the info guys. When I seen the part number tonight I was quite shocked. I work for a larger Schaeffler Group warehouse and see a ton of these bearings each night. Just about all of them are made in Korea.
  4. Looking on Autozone's website they show a timken bearing for my Brat 1 for 19.99. I am fairly certain that it takes 2 tapered wheel bearings. Please confirm this for me. http://www.autozone.com/R,APP305321/vehicleId,1682502/initialAction,partProductDetail/store,353/partType,00168/shopping/partProductDetail.htm
  5. Please tell me that I can get that Brat at Wal-Mart.
  6. That is one my favorite EA81 colors right there. Nice dude.
  7. The paper filters do the best job of filtering junk from going into your engine. I personally have had terrible experience with the oiled non-disposable ones with the oil they are coating in collecting on my MAF.
  8. Samneric, You also would have to admit that the Brat would be a dairy cooler going down the road.
  9. Here ya go, problem solved. I have considered taking my t-tops out and having them tinted darker to try and combat the summer heat months. Has anyone else ever gave this any consideration?
  10. Good job. Keep these EA81's on the road.
  11. I am not a big fan of those after market filters but to each their own. Did it sound anything like my Legacy?
  12. That looks awesome Rob. That could pass for a very nice used car with those sweet new interior bits. I don't know how you feel but, I have thought about taking all the stupid crap that the PO did and put them in a box and mailing it to him. You should do the same with all those crayon colored interior pieces.
  13. I would check the connection on your fusible links for starters.
  14. GD is right. A lot of the bearings that we ship out of INA (I work for Schaeffler Group) comes with little lables that say "Bearing is designed to never be greased".
  15. A speaker will stick to the side of an 83 model. Confirmed on my end.
  16. Your right about the wagon. I think its funny how on the 02-07 WRX's it was largely sedan based and now on the 08+ its wagon/hatch based.
  17. The EA81 u-joints are not staked in like the EA82. When I replaced mine in the Brat all I had to do was unbolt the driveshaft and remove the u-joint and use a vice to put the other back in. An extra set of hands makes this job so much easier.
  18. If on the white spoke wheels then have them facing out. I wish I would have.
  19. Audio, That's not exactly what I was looking for but you provided over-kill to the extreme. A lot of problems can be solved just by that demonstration. Thanks for finding it.
  20. Autozone has the pilot tool listed for $2.99 I would just spend that and save myself the headache. I think they should include one regardless though. http://www.autozone.com/selectedZip,70112/initialAction,partTypeResultSet/initialN,16700435/initialNtt,/initialNo,/shopping/selectZip.htm
  21. I tried to find the animated image of the pistons moving but had no luck.
