  1. Walmart here sells it. Ran it yesterday in my brat just poured some into the carb seemed to help but I have a blown intake manifold gasket and is hard to tell with that thing.
  2. Just got back from the dealer. They sold this Turbo BRAT for $5000. I explained that if he only wanted that, I could have gotten a loan right then and there. Also told them he could have gotten double on ebay.
  3. From the looks of it, it seems with a weber it will be easier to change. Would I just need to undo those 6 bolts and basically just pick the manifold up and move it back into where the spare tire rests leaving the respective lines hooked up? Of course I will need to disconnect the PCV.
  4. I heard a vacuum leak today when I was giving the carb a good bath. Started running my hand over the manifold until I found out where the vacuum was coming from. Talked to my dad and he said it was best not to drive it the way it is. Luckily I got a toyota for a backup vehicle. Here is a pic:
  5. Just discovered I have an intake manifold gasket leak on the 1 & 3 cylinder side of the manifold. Already plan on getting two gaskets from Subaru. Is there any temporary fixes I could do till I get the new gasket on next week?
  6. Jerry I appreciate it. Gonna try and figure out if they're bad or not. The idiot I bought it off of said he replaced them but I am willing to bet he fouled them up like he did everything else on the car. Whats the signs they are bad? -Kyle.
  7. How would I know if my BRAT has bad mounts? I already have motor vibration.
  8. I like it, reminds me of legos.
  9. There is a ton of differences out there depending on the year. Example would be how some EA82s had a 4 headlight front end (DL) and the two headlight (GL). Might consider giving this a good read: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/specs/general/specyears.html
  10. +1,000,000.5 My BRAT has a completely different driving style than my hatchback did. Mine takes a few seconds of idleing to a minute to get the tranny fluid around the syncros to get the gears to mesh smoothly.
  11. The dude that rebuilt the alternators on my brat, hatchback, and legacy all screwed them up. I was lucky to get 10K miles out of each. Not going back to him. Ive had great luck with this reman one I bought from autozone for like $60 when I spent $55 getting the other one rebuilt. Not doing that again. This is the pulley that came on my reman one from autozone. Is it the type of pulley you guys speak of?
  12. Brian, you just provided me a meens to kill a whole day off from school with those pictures. Thanks! -Kyle
  13. On a side note. I been considering going to the auto zone and have them give me and XT6 alternator and give them the one off my hatchback and upgrading that way. Told my dad it would be a good Christmas present, is there a threat of me burning up my wiring harness with that much more amps?
  14. Im in the middle of trying to trace down where it's leaking on mine as well. My hatch did the same thing.
  15. Yes, I changed the flow several times on the core. It rained tonight so I really got to use the heat and its quite a bit hotter so that made me feel better about the whole thing. Daeron your lucky, wish we didn't have to rely on a heater up here but we get some awfully cold winters, especially in the mornings. I figured I would take a good step by flushing this thing instead of driving around with no heat like my 88 Bronco II was when I learned someone removed the heater core in it . Thanks for all your help on this matter guys.
  16. Just got done flushing the old girl. Seems like the heater is hotter than before, didnt see too much nasty stuff as I expected though. We will see how it does when it gets a little cooler here.
  17. Picture of the week. Take me for a ride?
  18. Yes Yes I have heard the whooshing sound for about 6 months now. Thanks for the advice.
  19. Sorry, I am talking about the big Yakima rack on the hood.
  20. In TN that would get you a big ticket, does WA have a different law?
  21. Which heater hose does which on the EA81? In my searches I read that the EA82 was something different. Gonna try and change my oil in a few days and will pick up a new radiator cap while im at it. Will just a standard garden hose do the trick or do I need to bum a nozzle off someone? Should I start will sticking it on the upper hose first and directing the lower one to the ground and then alternate?
  22. It seems that sometimes it will blow hot air and other times it will blow cool air. Both heat and vents, would a good heater core flushing be in order?
