  1. Darrell, when you get this car,be sure to contact me.
  2. Can't commit just yet. Working Saturday, and maybe Sunday too. :-\
  3. If you guys don't get it,I might. Buyer will posess one of only a handfull left as we know it. Too complete to mess with. I have New Old Stock for this car. Between us we should have exhaust pieces, light lenses, bumpers, switches, gauges, some ornaments, carb parts, brake parts,etc....
  4. Wow! Talk about Karma :-p Uhh,weren't we just talking about loud exhausts. I'd say you cursed yourself that day. I have to laugh because you told me then that you were fairly unfamiliar with Subarus having loud exhausts. I was thinking you were the only one on the planet. Welcome to the club. Glad you're all set now.
  5. Right on!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting those great pics. I'll be getting my '74 4door pretty soon. Cheers!
  6. Thanks Jon. Yes,I remember the sign out front. They are kind of strict but I don't blame them. He can hang out for a little bit. He's got studying and plenty to keep him busy. And I won't be grabbing any engines or trannies.....I hope.
  7. Yo , give up a good report. Sorry, can't make it soon. But I do think September will yield a good weekend. Plan is to take the son, camp, hit Pine Barrens, and the Yards of PA up 61 to Harry's and the northern run home, probably I-84. Friday night to Sunday afternoon/evening.....when Harry's closes. AND,probably in the '78 or '79 if I register it like I want to,soon. Have fun, safe ride.
  8. :slobber: ... infinity........ Wow. I have a hard time finding the appropriate words. You were blessed, consider that to be fact. Oh well,so it's got a single carb. We'll forgive you. You've got one sweet little buzzbomb there. We had plenty of them -the 1400's- and although problematic with the headgaskets they are one of the greatest "Fun Per Dollar" vehicles I've ever owned. I should have a complete bonnet cable assy. for you. Make your list, communicate with me,and I'll do my best for you. Power door locks ???? !!!!!!!!!! That'll be one item I can't help you with. Can't recall when we fist saw those here but it wasn't in our EA71 cars, not any that we ever had,let alone an EA63 car.!! Man,I'm so tickled, sorry but I probably have a million things to say but just can't. Congratulations once again!
  9. Yes,from '72 on there's a Coupe or Hardtop of some sort. Or a 2door sedan from '70 on up several years. If you can find a 1300,you'd be the man. No 25+ year laws? Could you get by with a '78 FE? My '73 Coupe is back there in my gallery. Andrew's '73 wagon too.
  10. Oh ok,and I'm not supposed to get excited. chrome covers? !! You're killing me. Japanese collector?? One dollar? I just hit the floor, call the men in the white coats! If we had a Vintage Subaru newpaper this'd be front page material.
  11. Ignoring you....... Seriously,I know there's several of us very excited about your steal of a deal. Pics please!!!!!
  12. Those copper rings are shims. They came in various thickness. I have some NOS of those so keep it in mind. Most oldtimers here say because the 1300 was punched out to make the 1400 that the walls of the cylinders were just too thin and allowed more heat to transfer to the heads. The 1300 has the same liners. Same for the 1000 and 1100. But yes,the twin carbs don't help the heat. I'm not 100% sure about this yet but I might just be installing a 1600 in my '73 GL1400 Coupe Does the GSR have a fivespeed?
  13. I couldn't see the weatherstripping on the website.
  14. Grey driver's door lower panel/pocket. Or even the whole panel. Grey driver's seat FWD flywheel-maybe clutch pieces if not too worn Brake rotors -either or both front and back within tolerance Probably more, but shipping most of these would be as much as the gas money to Harry's.
  15. Score of the Year! GSR = disk front brakes, twin carbs If it is rotting out you still have one excellent parts car. I'd buy the twin carb set up as long as its complete for way more than what you paid for the car. BTW,please help me out and send some pictures. Mostly want the twin carb set up and all the brackets, linkage, etc. associated with it. And in turn, keep in mind that I have some new old stock for early 70's Subarus.
  16. Is that the guy who has some Gen I fenders (new) somewhere tucked away? My son is really wanting to hit NJ and we might do a weekend dedicated to PA yards on Saturday and the Barrens on Sunday. Maybe we can hit the ORV Park in Hazelton too on Saturday? We'll see.
  17. That's a front air dam. Just curious to see who'd spend for one. I can't jump into producing these just yet,but I'm going to try my best to learn to make, and produce copies of this air dam and assorted items. It's going to take some time and machinery before I can really get started. In the meantime I'm looking into established businesses doing the same to do some brain picking, maybe shop out a batch of them. Also have a friend who is a writer and editor for a sailing magazine who is due to go visit a high end sailing products mfg. to write an article. He's going to score lots of info for me.Maybe even bring me along. Where I work I see the process, but I need to see how I can take a small time approach to it in a smaller setting.
  18. Headgaskets tend to soak along the lower edge when old Subarus sit a long time. But I doubt you'll see any problems, just keep an eye on the headgaskets too. Consider getting a good engine cleaning done and that'll make it easier notice any leaks. The Gen I Brat you have is becoming more and more accpeted in the world of vintage automobiles, there's no doubt about that. I hope you enjoy it and keep it healthy. Exhaust systems tend to rot out where condensation is an issue, and the car sits for too long. Probably not a problem for you out there. Expect the brakes to be rough, you know the deal. But most of all, show us some pictures! We just did our second group purchase of windshield gaskets. For around $50-60 total, shipping included,we all have security from leaks. And they all leak eventually regardless of climate, location, etc. I'm pretty sure I can swing one more out of the remainders I have here if you need one. Give it a good walk around and make a "Wish List" and please add yours to our "Wish List" in the Historic Forum, right here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=39656 Good luck with it! Paul
  19. Getting very serious here. I will make a run within a month, maybe 6 weeks tops. I want parts for my '92 Legacy wagon FWD 5spd,mostly.
  20. Oh yeah, that's why I always mention that people bring dust protection. I'll always remember us running in the back of the group that wicked dry day we were there.Cough! Cough! Well,we absolutely NEED to go down there. My son and I will probably camp overnight Firday. We might ask our neighbor to join us in his lifted Ford.
  21. Sounds like a plan to me. Thanks for the report!
