  1. EA82 wagon-1987 Anyone ever solder or clamp on a new slug at the hood latch end? I am not currently concerned with the interior handle end,but we all know they bite the dust too. Anyone score one from the dealer?Cost??

  6. "WagonsOnly" has a '62 here in CT.THere's also a few more in CT but I'm pretty sure they're '68 and '69s.
  7. Brian,I think these are all for the Stage I cars.THey're all marked 1975.Could work but won't be correct,if that matters.Send some pics of this Safari Package please.I just got an old gas can that looks very "safari".Should look cool mounted on the rear. wagonpowaa-thanks,looks just like the one in your avitar.
  8. Went up there today.I have a huge pile of stuff to "check out" next week. The day flew by.I sat down with the owner to start pricing stuff and he decided to just have one of his guys do it next week. It'll be later in the week. Thanks again to Shawn and Skip for loaning the parts manuals.I've barely touched them, most not even opened once. It's just alot of stuff to gather. There'll be some misc. boxes that I'll need all the help I can get from the manuals. Some notes: THere's a set of hood decals in his pen, locked up.He said they were for all older Subarus but mostly Brat owners used them to compliment the other stripes from the factory.I did not see any "BRAT" decals or targa stripes, etc. The stripe kits seem to be all 1975.THere's one "5speed" and a few "4 wheel drive" ones in black, gold, and maybe one white. A roll bar sits in the corner. He knows I can get a buyer for it so it'll go to one of us here.Still not sure if its Gen I or II.It's a 3 piece with the rearward legs mounting to the wheel well(curved mounting foot)....is that Gen I? Lots of trailing arms for EA82 cars and a few others too. Some brake drums, rear plates with brakes complete.some calipers.... Racks for a 3door,Justy,and others.A couple EA82 racks. Some rear deflectors for EA81 wagons complete with feet,etc.... Look back next week.
  9. OOOPS! Sorry about that 'duster...hope you guys work it out. So,what's the actual dimensions of the parts that are different?Just so we all know.
  10. you....are....beautiful!!!!!!!! OK that answers that. Now who's down for the road trip and how soon are we talking? I could be just as happy letting you guys go nuts and would be fine with waiting a little to get my heap.If it's an easy go I'm there. But if I'm just having a hard time I suppose I will have to hold back the tears. :-p 15 boxes isn't so bad to go through.Sounding like we'll be done by Saturday night and tossing back some beers.Oy!! OK start kicking around a date and I'll do my best.Could maybe even get some discount flight(ahem!)and rent a oneway ride back too. That'd save the redeye mega coffee haul.
  11. Plow I have is a "SnoWay" blade.Hyd. unit has "John Barnes Corp." from Rockford Ill. I'm going back to the guy I got it from tomorrow and hopefully he'll help me out a little more. But he's almost 80 years old so.... General questions I have are about controls, seems I don't have any right now.The plow is an hour away at another borad member's place.I barely looked it over before dropping it off.We were both in a rush to get going. Where do they mount(controls)?Any help from experience is greatly appreciated.Hopefully I'm wrong and the control is a little shifter that I just didn't see. Higher lights?Add wiring or cut and paste some factory connectors so I can plug my headlight harness into the high mounts when needed? I'm going to be using a Hatchback for this knuckleheaded project.Just have to try it.The plow rig is made to fit EA82 cars also.So says the dealer I got it from.He says he had it on a sedan,Loyale style up to a few years ago.I also have a beater 3door that I could make useable for this if it's better suited. Anything else to consider?
  12. Guys,I woke up a little sick today and had my daughter to watch.Just couldn't swing the trip today.I plan on going tomorrow. I should have most of the items I said I'd get for the people who posted on my original thread. Then I'm going to attempt a bulk buy for the remainders. Please don't reply here.I'll bump up the original post as I can.Might take untill Sunday night.I should be going to PA to get Dennis' dad's hatch on Saturday in the afternoon. I'll kill this thread when I bump up the other one.Cheers
  13. tra la la tra la la la tra la la tra la la la.......4:dead: 3:dead: 2 1 I think they take the stage Sunday night around 10PM
  14. We'll see....tough to get people together as is....getting people to agree on a weekend coming from all corners...this I gotta see.Sorry to be pesimistic. It's a great idea. Personally, after seeing all the other offers to help I just assume sit tight and let you guys without kids do the legwork.I'm just hoping to get the parts and manuals I asked for.You guys can play the role of hero to the board. Well,I guess I did my part. Thanks to the guy who notified me of Billy's presence on the SVX board. At least we've got things stirred up.Now we'll have to see what the mix tastes like. Having gone from a whole warehouse full of stock to 15 boxes kind of concerns me.I'm wondering just what's actually there that I can use.Am I going to travel all that way to find a very minimal amout of 70's parts?Am I going to find the items I put dibs on?It'd be nice to know without travelling all that way. Good luck, let me know what shakes.
  15. Saturday is THE day for the baord to meet IMO Ben is local,he's the lucky one. My intentions are to stay over Friday night probably camping to save dough.Motel if too crappy out or the back of the wagon like last year.It was too wet to pitch the tent at 11PM and maint. hadn't truley started at the campground. The grass was about 8 inches high and soaked.Otherwise I recommend Gifford Pinchot St. Park...I'll call them and get the fire lit under their asses so the place is fit for Subaru owners and their high class ways. There's a chance it could be a full weekend for me if my family comes along. We'd leave Sunday late afternoon, after I win my award.:-p
  16. Well first I want to thank Billy for making this effort. It shows he's got more integrity than a lot of other folks in this world. I can't help but wonder, was there or is there a pile of stuff from the 70's and a few manuals that I had claim on?If so I'd really like a shot at them first,as I had committed to getting them.OK Selfish reasons aside.... I offered to help and I'm still willing. It'll be a tough weekend of travel and I'll surely either take my son,the family,or have to hear some squawking from the old lady and maybe her divorce lawyer too..... but I really think I can do this.As a decent family man will have to do,I'll need to make sure the household won't be distupted or lacking during my asbsence. I'm thinking a wicked mega coffee redeye run on a Friday night.Get into GA around Saturday AM.(I'll have another driver too somehow...a friend or a board member). As for what to do about it well that's a tough one, sort of.I can surely help on that weekend by getting most or all of the parts tagged so we all know what they are for.I suppose if we have a list of who's spoken for which parts already I can handle the shipping.I know what you're thinking and if you know me you know that right now I'm blowing out all the FEW items left for people. And I'm in the process of clearing out my workshop. I'm not going to attempt this and have you guys all upset all over again. This is a serious endeavor.I'm doing a resto and am always involved with older Subarus so you know how much this means to me.I also know that you feel the same way. As for waiting untill Summer...well,to me winter time is the time to get to these resto projects.I'm itching to have my '78 looking like it deserves to be at Carlisle in May....but at least we have Billy here and I'm sure that sometime within this year, hopefully by summer or well before winter,we'll all be much happier about this. OK,you guys speak up and let me know what you think...if someone else can meet up that's all the better.I'm in no way trying to wedge anyone out or snag items beforehand.Infact,I'd appreciate it if we all showed old emails, etc that indicated what items we were committed to.That way some guy on the west coast doen't think old Moosens cut him off,etc,etc.... That was my main thought.Sort the "want list" now before anyone gets their hands on it to avoid arguements.
  17. Well the link to this post is posted there and the link from that post is posted here so.....??????? Come on Billy, speak up.Nobody wants to kill you. This has gone on way too long.
  18. wisecracker answer first-----move further south. Seriously,it sounds like you've got something blocking the defroster vent. The air coming out is warm right? You may hear air blowing but the flap to shift it to defroster instead of lower or bi-level may be shut.THere's cheapy dash mounted defrosters that might help.Better than having to take the dash out. They go for like $20 if I remember right.Check the vacuum hoses all around for pressure.Good luck
  19. I was there Sinday last year and didn't see this ricer chromed 'baru you're talking about,thankfully... I believe the ricer show was scratched, see above. hahaha typed Sinday instead of Sunday......well,it'll be a sin if you aren't there-so says the Rev. G.L. Fivespeed Amen bruthuhs 'n sissuhs.
  20. Keith,I really don't know if it's people or cars. OK I've supplied links,Dennis has supplied links...use the freakin computer for something besides this board and porno....go! seek!! The answers are out there. If someone needs info not seen on a web page try contacting the organizers. Guys, just stinking show up with all you can bring.Don't bring excess vehicles if its a burden,I won't if its a pain.I sure will try but I'm not sure I can bring more than the one I'll be driving right now. Do I sound a little flustered?Too bad!! LOL Carlisle is THE show of shows.Whether it's the Corvette weekend,Chevy weekend,Mopar,Moped,Mickey Mouse,Banana Splits,Popeye,Little Rascals,Snoopy and the Red Baron weekend, whatever!!! Just git yer butts there.
  21. Saturday is probably the best day.Weather is often the deciding factor. Great camping nearby. And plenty of rooms too.
  22. ..where is dey is? Sounding like its out near GD....gotta have one.I mean two....damn I'd get 2 sets if I had the dough right now.I really don't want to have another deer waste another wagon.Especially my rust free baby turbo "waggin" from the southwest....every night I drive home I have to look extra close for eyeballs glaring back at me from the side of the parkway.
  23. 3 CT guys who all own vintage Subarus!!!! The trifecta baby!!!!! You guys haven't met yet....lucky for Scott hahaha just kiddin' Andrew. Scotty, good talking to you tonight.Good to see you here too.Check the Meet/Greet Forum and get in on the Carlisle post.Let me/us know if we're all going together. By now the snow HAS to be hitting Norwich. It's all powder amd FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!!! Had a great time after I hung up.Damn near wasted an alloy on a curb shot...EEEEEEK!Not bad though.Hopefully I wake up and there's 4 tires holding air. Talk to you soon.
