  1. OP talking about the injectors. Almost sure they are fired in pairs.
  2. Unless I tossed them, I should have a set of front calipers back in the corner of the garage. You can have them if willing to pay shipping. PM me if interested.
  3. Where is all the air coming from to support idling at 7K rpms? I'd determine if the butterflys are open or still in a nearly closed position. If the butterflys are in a normal position, then major air leak downstream of the carbs. If butterglys wide open, then determine why.
  4. Contact Edrach if you decide to just replace the pump. He has a good one.
  5. May want to check the vacuum line to the modulator before swapping transmissions.
  6. It is the rare 87.5 model and the transmission is the 4EAT. Will also have the spider intake manifold.
  7. Someone here recently had the same problem. Turned out to be the igniter on the firewall.
  8. My thinking is the engine has an air leak downstream of the AFM and as a result has low rpm power. Reason engine seems to run well in reverse probably due to torque multiplication: reverse gear geared lower than 1st gear.
  9. Just replace it with one that is used but newer. . Thinking all models up to 2005 or thereabouts are plug and play. My 95 has a radio from a 2002 WRX.
  10. Ball joints and tie rod ends are cheap so just replace them. Also check the bushings holding the steering rack.
  11. Check the fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum hose. If fuel drips out then replace the FPR. Can't believe all 4 injectors opened for some reason but i guess anything is possible.
  12. If you really screw up the intake manifold, I have a spare one you can have for the cost of shipping.
  13. No. My XT6 essentially has done the same thing for the last 11 years. Replaced the pump and the sender and that changed nothing. The HLAs have never developed the TOD so regardless of what the gauge shows, I know the engine has oil pressure.
  14. This is a FWD model so no need to swap differentials. Also the FWD turbo transmission will have a 3.54 differential ratio. Not sure anymore about the axles but still think the turbo and NA axles are different.
  15. If an automatic, insert the fuse in the FWD holder under the hood and report back.
  16. No, totally different. A turbo EA82 transmission will work but you have to use its CV axles.
  17. Sorry, didn't see that in your original post. When my car had the same problem, problem was the front coil pack had failed.
  18. Swap the coil packs front to rear and I think you will know the problem.
  19. Dump the stock exhaust after the turbo except for the flange that bolts to the turbo. 2 !/4 inch exhaust all the way back from the turbo does make a difference and fits the original exhaust flange perfectly. Ran 12 pounds of boost for 5 years/almost 100k miles in my old turbo wagon with a few modifications and never had a lick of problem with the set up.
  20. Some west coast company (Kenny or something like that) years ago actually manufactured an adapter for the rotary/subaru combination. I even saw one on ebay maybe 8 years ago for sale. That company I think is the same one that still manufactures kits to install Subaru engines in VWs.
  21. More like instantaneously. That splined shaft that runs through the TC, if not fully seated/engaged, will break the internal fluid pump. Been there, done that.
  22. "Pin socket". Something like this: http://www.etoolcart.com/fwbearinglocknutforgmfordtrucks-otc-7090a.aspx
  23. XT turbo axles and XT6 axles share the same inner joint so don't buy on spline count alone. What I am saying is a manual FWD transmission from an XT turbo will swap into an XT6 without changing the axles.
