starfire 46/50-3 door coupe?
Yeah I know..been off here for quite some time... Here's the deal, had to put all projects on hold but back at it now... This particualr coupe, been looking over it... body is great in the fact there is only surface rust/faded paint... basically the front end was just pushed in a little, doesn't seem the radiator took any mayjor damage, doors still open..hood is just little crunched up-looks like the hinges/moutning brackets just need to be straightend out... the windshield is cracked due to PO opening the hood and thus cracking window at base... at first I thought about using this body for my Brat rebuild... but had to put the brat on hold.. I need the cargo space of the coupe...etc etc.. Ideas on pulling the front end? Just hook front to another truck the rear to a tree and go that route? While I have long term plans, I need a daily driver for awhile... this looks like the easiest fix of all my projects...

86 Brat in Need of Rescue
That freakin' blows...when I was in KY before moving to NM... I could NEVER find a Brat! Worst part is, I've an 86 in my Dad's barn there... that I would kill to be able to have this one to put both together and get a sweet BRAT... FIGURES....:-\

A first post-request 78/9 dl?
glad to see someone on here picked up on this one. I'm no expert, buy from reading on here I thought it was a rare soob. Funny part is, I printed the CL add out at work a few nights ago and was prepared to call today about this one. Definitely check it out, let us know...if you don't take it and it's a good one I may snag it to keep it from going to scrap! Of course, that would be 4 soobs plus the possible XT-6 I'm working on getting...hey, can't let these good ones go to waste!

86 RHD Brat Build~Project
Thanks, it sure does turn heads...when I picked it up and was driving it back I stopped in a parking lot to look at my map (I'd taken a wrong exit) and a cop pulled up and circled the car...when he finally came to the right side he rolled down his window to check if everything was alright, and I explained my situation. He just laughed and said, "I first looked through the back and didn't see any driver and thought....now where did the driver go? Then I realized it was a right hand drive...nice truck..." I was relieved that's all he had to say!

Floor Jack
I saw the 2 1/2 ton is on sale this week here. It's listed between $60-70, can't remember exactly. Going to pick that one up. I notice their larger size jack stands, the big steel orange ones are on sale at times too. I've a set of those, very durable and elevate a good distance. For some things, you can't go wrong at harbor Freight

Now that reference, I haven't heard in a long time. It's about 11-12 hours from Albuquerque to Casper Hey I know how you feel, no problem. I'll keep my eyes out for anything. I could always stash it at my house if I found one until you could pick it up...that is if it was in great shape and worth your trip...etc

welcome James! This is the place to be, as you already have probably discovered! What's the maximum distance you are willing to have a soob shipped or to travel? Price range? I find 80-84 soobs here occasionally in NM and AZ, but unfortunatley do A) not have the space for all and usually have just spent the alloted cash I had saved on another project! I'll keep you posted on what I find....

For us pre-80 guys... The motherload just showed up on Craigslist

86 RHD Brat Build~Project
That's probably the case, technically...but it was designed here to be a mail truck. The RHD models still have the "Brat" stickers and were and are still called A BRAT here... Funny you say that...all the Aussies I know call the Brats a "Brumby" even if they are LHD... I think it's more of what continent you are on, or are from...since my RHD model was originally sold here, had the stickers that say Brat and is for all practical purposes a BRAT...I'll stick with that for simplicity... Call it what you want, it's an anomaly in the States...hence, that's one of the reasons I named it: GRENDEL

Hydraulic/scissor lifts?
I forgot to mention this....of course, there's not much I can add to that!
-
Hydraulic/scissor lifts?
I've often thought of a pit when I build my garage, and that's what my Dad wants too so he's pressing me for it as well. True, while a post lift is great they are so costly (relatively speaking when you don't have a business that needs one) and like you say, room in a small garage. The pit you posted the link to, their lifts are virtually like a few for sale here in Albuquerque...too bad I don't have a pit already

Hydraulic/scissor lifts?
GD~Thanks, that was what I was thinking myself. For the money it's not worth it then...I'll continue to use the good ol' jack and jack stand system then!
