patrs transport-NM to KY (south/southeast)
Sorry everyone, I had to work an extra shift and did not get to go to the JY. I am off of work today and am heading to Harbor Freight first, then to the U Pull U Pay. I am taking the camera, going to snap pics like mad...I'll post here later. Also going to the other JY's here...there are at least 12 I counted on one road (I Love NM for that!) and ask about Pugs, brats, coupes, XT6....well, you get the pic.... I think I need to stay in NM for awhile longer...maybe I should extend my contract with work another 3 months and get a storage unit!:headbang:

1977 1600 wagon found
I found a 77 wagon here at the U Pull Yard in NM. Great shape for that year...check out the Meet/Greet section for my post about parts transport for anyone who needs it. The engine and tranny are intact. If no one wants it....I may pull it myself in case I find a 70's soob later...

patrs transport-NM to KY (south/southeast)
Went by the U Pull It Yard this am when I got off of work. I'll only be here in NM for about 2-3 more weeks then I will be heading home to KY. I am willing to do a parts transport along the way-whatever I can fit in the back of my Baja besides my stuff. First come, first served. I'd keep the receipts and charge what the part cost plus we could work out some kind of trade on the labor-parts, etc... :banana:First item was a 1977 four door wagon...1600...with the engine and tranny intact. Back seat is good...back passenger door is dented-other doors decent with minor rust. Hatch was good. One 1980 hatch. Color code 36 I believe. Yellowish color. I remember the passenger door was good, hatch good with glass, rear side windows good. I took the 3rd eye. One 1986 white hatch. Took third eye. Taking passenger side door for Brat. Driver door with rust along bottom and one continuous hole. Various L Series wagons and a few sedans. There is one sedan 86 or 89 turbo. Blue. I got the disk brakes. One turbo wagon an 86 or 89. I got the disk brakes. Great metallic green color. Minor rust. Some outbacks, Imprezzas, as well. Several Loyales... I did not have my camera but will be taking it back with me later in the week so I could snap photos for those who want them. All soobs are in various conditions...bodies are in general good due to the NM climate. I say that in relation to what I am used to since I am from KY. Glass is intact on some, majority seem to have had some NIMRODS go around and throw rims and various other enginge parts through the glass-many of the interiors would be great if it wasn't for that... Post your requests or PM me. I'll do what I can...basically anywhere from NM to KY along I40 will be my route. I can meet to drop off or once I get back to KY would be able to meet within reason for surrounding states. Oh and if any of you have access to a machine shop that can do a 6 lug conversion we could talk a trade....

85 Brat Update
Gee, like that is not obvious...and I will be putting ones up-just felt like posting until I get the pics up. Like I said, pics are coming...so if you want to see them, you'll have to wait. Kind of difficult when the Brats are several states away. The eyes I just snagged today and had not slept for almost 24 hours so pics of those where not on my priority list.

85 Brat Update
Went to the U Pull It yard this am after I got off of work....spent 4 hours looking over the yard. No Peugots, but many, many soobs. I scored 2 of the 3rd Eyes with grills, one of them has the shutter shattered but the other is totally intact. These will be going on my 85 and 86 brats. Also snagged a round metalic gas cap door and hardware off of an 86 hatch. Look for my post in the Meet and Greet about parts transport from NM to Ky later this month....

85 Brat Update
Yeah, NM....I've seen numerous rust free or virtually rust free older soobs here....I'm amazed, being from KY I do not see them in this shape! I plan on hitting the JY's this week to see what they have. I'll keep you guys posted on what I find here in case anyone needs anything. This isn't related to my Brat update, but why start a new thread until I find something good here...?

85 Brat Update
So far here are a few things I have noticed: The rebuilt axles that were installed definitely have a problem. Vibration is intense and noisy when first taking off at low speeds 5-10 mph. Once Brat gets up to 45+ it only does an occassional "jerk" and "pop" along with it. At the 60mph mark (when I could hold that) it was non-existent. After driving it to the DVM for a tempoary tag and stopping to get gas, the clutch went out...would not go in gear. I tighted up the clutch cable and it was fine. Had to do this several times on the way back. This happened on my other 86 Brat. I replaced the clutch and cable on that one because of the issue. What's the deal? Does the cable itself stretch? Need to research this more and any knowedge from you guys is appreciated! When turning in a parking lot for example, the right front axle/boot area makes a loud grinding/poping noise...sounds like the CV joint but the boots are new and intact. The oil was low, added about 2 quarts before taking off on the return trip and noted there was much oil on the underside-as is expected with soobs....when stopped to eat, oil noted to have dripped out onto parking lot-nice size puddle. The glass is intact, no leaks I could notice. The cab/front is actually realatively rust free, except for the rocker panels...as compared to the bed, which has your usual Brat rust areas in the wheel wells, also along inside bed in various spots. Interior has an electrical issue, there was an aftermarket radio placed in it and i see wiring sticking out the side, so I hope that can be fixed. Basically, I'll hit the Axles (MWE axles I think), oil issue and then the clutch. Just depends on what parts I get first. I have plans to eventually take the roll bar out and realign it...it was bolted in crooked and it is rubbing the cab on the passengers side. More to come...pics will be about 3 weeks in coming...I am back in NM now finishing my contract with my job, but am going to hit the Junk Yards here for soob parts before I go back to KY!
