  1. Will do Jared. Can you have porn if I send it?
  2. That's usually the bushing in the disty. Pull the cap off and wiggle the rotor. If there's play, there you go.
  3. Anybody besides me see his wallet sitting there? Auto-winged-Doh!
  4. That should be Jeff "One Eye". That mud would be compliments of Evans Creek.
  5. I understand. Especially for just a day thing. You should have made it up to Evans Creek last weekend. Maybe next time.
  6. Near Monroe, WA. We'll see what the weather is like. I'm not pulling my 1000 dollar camera out to get ruined by H20. I have hundreds of photos and hours of video already. You've got my #.
  7. One of the HP guys called to ask if I'd make it up to Reiters Pit this Saturday. There's a special reason, but I ain't sayin' what. Anyways, Qman has his Brat all up and running again, along with a bit of modification, that as far as we know, is the first to be done to a Soob. This will be a big chance to see a few of these offroad and doing the dirty stuff. Anybody wanna join us to see what he's done to it? And the other thing too.
  8. I'm with them. It's not what it's worth here, it's what folks will pay. Not much. You may or may not have any luck with eBay. Autotrader is probably the best place for it, people can view it nation wide. I've offered up a few of my lifted rigs in Auto Trader, and mostly I got calls from folks saying they had a brat and wanted to know how to lift and upgrade theirs.
  9. Austin got a little footage and some still shots, hopefully he'll post 'em today. MORE NEXT WEEKEND!!! Reiters here we come!
  10. MAN O MAN!! We got ourselves into some stuff today! The bummer is, it was raining so hard all day that the cameras mostly stayed in the cars. . . Had 5 lifted Soobs, a big rump roast FJ 40 and a Bronco (which broke before we hit the trail). The guys from Mt Vernon had their share of trouble today. Another "unhatched" among them. It went to go thru teh mud hole and lost its tranny. The wagon they brought ran out of gas on the trail, on a big hill climb ta boot. Austin is a pro with his ej22 powered wagon. Even open diff'd. He just keeps at least 5 people in it for traction. My little hatch performed perfectly, impressed some Jeep guys pretty good as they pulled over to let me go up the gnarly trail they were coming down. Got it good and muddy, and even put a little dent behind the drivers door down low. The fold below the doors lived, and is still pretty. It will clean up real nice.
  11. I can't guarrantee open seats, but I'm guessing the North guys might each have open seats. There may be room in Brian's FJ too. . . I'm leaving at 6 sharp, feel free to follow me down.
  12. I'll be heading down Sunday a.m. See you there. Or at 5 to 6 Sunday morning, I leave at 6 sharp. This is gonna be cool. Spent all day accessorizing the hatch. A-bar action with a little change to the A-bar. Bring on the bumps! Brian will be camping along with at least 3 from North. Expect a few guys from the SNORT board to show too. Should be 15 vehicles at least. . .
  13. You can stuff a 4500 lb winch in pretty easy. But I just alwasy use a come-a-long. It's rated at 8000 with its snatch. That and a few straps and a chain for trees and 2 people can get it out of just about anything. That stuff's all lighter too. I can keep it behind my seat and dry and out of the way.
  14. The only thing that stopped me was the gas tank. That was as far as I could cut it.
  15. Qman is in the middle of moving the front end forward on his Brat. He still has no internet at his new house, so you'll have to wait for him to be back on line before he can tell you what he did. I think he used some ea82 parts.
  16. Here's a couple of photos of my Bob'd Brat. I think I was the first to do it like this. http://community.webshots.com/album/37919799NGXlOA
  17. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16945&highlight=cyclops+wiring McBrat has a diagram somewhere too.
  18. When I first looked at this thread, I read . . . approved by France. lol I thought why the F would he care what France thinks? lol My wife is always behind me with my Soob projects. She allows me all the time I need to complete them. She can't understand why so many board members' wives are so pissy about their hubby's Soob enthusiasm. She likes to 4X too, so that's a bonus.
  19. Yeah, she makes sure me and whoever is helping have lots of beer. I kinda can't wait for this one to be offroad at Evans this weekend.
  20. Looks like a good group of vehicles. Jeff +2, maybe Todd and Jake, Austin, Me, maybe Qman, Brian in his Toyota FJ. Couple of winches on board, plenty of people to push! I'm about as psyched for this trip as any I've been on.
  21. Should be pics and video next week. Maybe dents and dings, who knows?
  22. We're gonna do the trail accross from the campground at Evans this Sunday. It was Hell dry and dusty, but mucky and wet. . . hoooboy! There's no rust on this one.
  23. No turning back now. (notice anything missing?)
  24. I think that's the perfect car for you. You said you wanted to have room for family and stuff. It will make a good daily driver. As for SPFI, I can't comment, everybody in the HP runs carb'd Soobs with Webers. (except Austin with his 2.2 conversion.) As for no power with the Weber up a hill. . . I'd like to see that person say that after seeing me tackle upper 311 at Evans Creek. (or see attached below as Austin makes it up the gnarly hill with plentyof poop to spare) They usually only cut out on radical sideways tilts, or down hill. You also said you don't need it to be super baddass off road cuz you have your 4runner. There you go. The wagons don't measure up as well offroad as the hatchbacks or brats. They're just plain heavier, so you'll go thru clutches. Add a family and gear for all and it will be overloaded. Ask Austin about that. And like a few folks said, the rump roast end is a mile long past the rear tires. No departure. As for a modern interior, what do you need, a tach, radio, and heater? The older ea81s have oil pressure, temp, and voltage gauges stock. Add some GL10 seats to a hatch if you want it modern. The rear axle takes about 5 minutes to swap in or out on a hatch, go with the welded diff, it will make the LSD seem like an open diff. No shnit. Aaaanndd. Hatches can climb up on bigass stumps, we just look funny doing it.
  25. Looks like me and Austin. . . My buddy will meet us there in his big Toyota FJ. He'll be at the campground. I may stay the night down there too, depends on weather. Shoot me a call Jeff.
