87 GL Wagon?
Actually, the Canadian Dollar hit a high last week, topped 80cents to the US Dollar. I sold one with 235k once for 1700. Car was solid as hell, the guy was glad to pay it. Are there others around you could get for less? If not, grab it up.

PK can't contain himself anymore
Lift away PK. This one's gonna be cool. AWD wasn't meant for the street. The legacy ws originally a rally car for Subaru, they're at home in the dirt. Turbo or no. Thanks dustyrider for pulling out that photo, you beat me to it. And yeah, what you said about it.

lift is done... now I can't shift!
The weird thing. . . I just put a 4/3 in my hatch. 0 problems shifting into any gear. Had to extend my front brake lines, but no shifting problems.

Check out my new Hatch!!! Traded off the XT6
I've been wanting one since I first saw this years ago. There's a dream soob thread going on somewhere, here's mine. This color scheme would do too.

Check out my new Hatch!!! Traded off the XT6
Yes. BUt 2.2 imprezas didn't exist until 95. They're still 4gs and up in price.

Check out my new Hatch!!! Traded off the XT6
No, I'm saying I'd trade my hatch for a Legacy in good shape. Sooner or later, I'd love to lift a legacy.

Check out my new Hatch!!! Traded off the XT6
Ken loves his conversion. He moved the front wheels 2 and 1/4 inches forward so has 0 problems turning the 31s lock to lock. He just welded the Nissan rear and got spacers for the wheels to bring them par with the fronts. My hatch. . ? It did everything all the huge ones at WCSS6 did, made it thru the mud pit 3 times and drove back 250 mile to Seattle without breaking. . . It's gone everywhere I've tried to point it. Remember, it's my daily driver, it's as extreme as it's gonna get while I own it. Wait, that was my last one. LOL This one has been thru the paces the last couple of weekends and didn't bat an eye. (the diff was Jared's before me, went to and from Arizona and has been my daily driver/weekend locker for over a year) Really though, this one has the exact set up as the last one, just an inch more in the front and the modified A bar. That and 73k less miles on it. Might trade it for a young Legacy wagon with a 5spd and AWD. . .

Check out my new Hatch!!! Traded off the XT6
Glad you guys found eachother out. I saw it at WCSS, but didn't look close at it. . . Cool car. Just go with a solid rear like Ken did. His works great offroad.

OK Who's Brat?
I can't remember the name. But, I remember that photos from when I first came on board at ezboard. I remember thinking the guy was just plain nuts, but now after wheeling with lifted rigs myself, that's nothing.

Cryogentic Treatment of CV's?
Hence my question if anyone has tried this for you Subie Guys in making a strong CV. I am refering to the actual CV's and not the shaft beween them. I blew an outer one last week, driving around the block. It was only 3-4-- miles old, a re-man though. "New" axles don't exist as far as I know, so I wonder how much cryo treatment an old re-man could take. I've only blown one outer up untill that one. The inners go from timre to time, but that's usually after running it with a torn boot and it getting mud and stuff in it. The weak spot on these use to be the bell. People fixed that by welding a small ring to the outside lip of them Then the guts starting to go and then Bobby Long started welding rings on them and cryo treatment of them. We call the "bell" the cup. They do explode from time to time, Scott Subarubrat welds something around them to beef them up, he'd be teh guy to ask just what and how. Also I guess almost every professional motor sport now from indy cars to lawnmower racing uses cryotreatment of parts to make them stronger. USMB = professional motor sport? Hence my question if anyone has tried this for you Subie Guys in making a strong CV Like I said, I think only Scott has gone and done it. But the next thing to go are the stub axles coming out of the diffs. And after that, the spider gears themselves. . . As for carnage, I can swap in a front axle and have the car ready to go in about 25 minutes. + or - a few. Thre rear in about 5. If the stub axle breaks off inside the diff, then it's a bit of a pain in the rump roast. I'd rather swap an axle. The ones I have have a lifetime warrantee.

SAS = Solid Axle Subaru
You've been doing what you say. I wasn't so sure at first, but I figure'd it out pretty quick. Hope I've helped some. I hope you can make it up here, I'd love to take you for a ride in my hatch, you'll see it can on quite a bit and spit it right back out. Maybe you can make it up fot our annual Hatch Patrol X-mas tree run this year. We had almost 30 vehicles last year. You'll get to see a little bit of everything as far as offroad Soobs are concerned.

SAS = Solid Axle Subaru
I've been lovin it since I first saw it rolling into WCSS6. Then I was crazy about it after watching it play in the mud. The reason you wanna sell it is ???????

Mild lift options....
I see the simplicity of the quickie/cheapie lift with air bags. But, I've found that the best results off road are to be had with the suspension dialed all the way down and the sway bar removed. The more movement the suspension has, the better chance it has of keeping wheels on the ground. Wheels on the ground = traction. Traction is good. I'm even against "clocking" the torsion bar because it makes it too stiff in the rear. And yeah, what he said about the cvs.

Mild lift options....
None of these guys have answered the question youve asked. Your 85 GL wagon has adjustable struts in the front, and adjustable coil-overs in the rear. You can gain a little over an inch on the front and 2 or more from the rear. That would be a "mild" lift. I kinda-totally disagree. For my first 2 offroad hatches, I refused the lift kit, and followed Qman everywhere he went in his 4 inch lifted hatch. But one day when we went to drop off a big rock face, my front bumper caught, causing me to teeter on 2 wheels, stuck. Qman barely nudged his front bumper on that same rock because of the clearance afforded by the lift kit and drove right down with no problem. Exact same line, I have it on video. He sported 28 inch Coopers, I had 28 inch Swampers. That day sold me on the advantage of a lift kit. Big tires will give you clearance under your Y-pipe, but clearance under your bumpers and rocker panels is good to have too. High-centering is a bitch, even with 28s.

Tex's Wagon on a Hip-Hop Website?
He detailed the HEll out of the car for that show. They have a thing about tracking mud into the place. I asked if I could show up all muddy, Tex said he'd already asked. . .
