Annual Xmas tree run-this Saturday! WHO'S IN?
I'm gonna make you change your name to Eeor or however he spelled it. Just show up Mike. We got a couple others to drag themselves to the gathering that will make it worth your while if hanging out with Ken and me and my 7 mo preggers missus isn't worth it. The main group will be at the sand pits probably.

Most embarassing place you've been stuck in your Ru?
BTW. He did ask for Subaru stories. Stories about getting stuck are cool, but ones about quads and chevys are off topic. Let's hear 'em.

Most embarassing place you've been stuck in your Ru?
I've been stuck so many times in Subarus, I've forgotton more than I remember or could be prompted to remember. All of your stories are seriously lacking pics. So, I dug up some picks of me stuck, I'll type up a quick story for each. Stuck1, 78 4X wagon, my first Soob. I was eyeing a big long hole, sure I could make it thru, it just looked like a puddle. I went in about 15 feet and it got really squshy fast. So, being a rookie, I stopped and tried to back out. That was that, it just sunk. So, my buddy thought he'd drive around and push from the front. (we had no tow ropes) He got just as stuck as me just as fast. So two of us headed out and hiked 5 miles to find a guy with a Jeep to get us out. The Jeep got the Soob, but not the Jeep. We had to get anothre guy with a winch and a snatch block to get the Jeep out. (I'd kill that hole with my hatch!!) Stuck2, 83 brat, 3 inch lift, 28 inch swampers One of the first serious trails I'd ever been on. Mike W and I discovered it when we first took out our hatches together. Reiters Pit, we call it the Hobbit Trail. Mike got kinda stuck the first time he went thru goning the other way. That was WWWAAAAYYYY before the trail had been used and abused and dug out. Heading out in the Brat, I thought I'd give it a try. What could happen, I get stuck? Sure enough, there's a tree root that has a deeeeeeeeeeeeeeep rump roast hole on the other side from guys with 36s getting stuck in the same spot and digging it out worse. I was resting on the rocker panel, with the font tire dangling over. The water ws so deep inside that the passenger seat was under. It splashed over the console and soaked me when they pulled me out. 2 Soobs had to tie to eachother to get me out. Stuck3, 86 hatch, 3 inch lift, 28 inch swamper ssrs Just plain forgot to put it in low range when I shoved into the deep snow. Booged down, lost momentum, and that was that. Stuck4, 82 Brat, (Bob) 3 inch lift, 28 inch swamper ssrs Tried to be the brave guy and tackle the impossible. Clutch got wet. Say no more.

I'd get a second person to help you with the front. You'll need someone to pry with a bar of some sort to get the tranny crossmember lined up. If you force the bolts in, they'll cross thread. Make sure you can get them in a few threads by hand first before going at it with the rachet. The rest of the front is cake except the steering extension. I've had to pry the new one good and open to get it to fit onto the knuckle. To attach it: Leave the front 6 bolts to the crossmember good and loose, so there's room to attach the extension/knuckle. Fit it on, then tighten up the crossmember bolts. Don't worry about getting the extension on so your steering wheel is straight. It's super simple to pull off the steering wheel and realign it when you're all done.

Not my point. If you don't see the wrong in racing with 16 year olds in hot rods, then I don't know what to say. My first car was a 1969 Mustang with a Boss 302. A WRX wouldn't have stood a chance in a straght line. Some how I lived thru all the maniac driving I did with it. But in retrospect, I was dumb as hell. I had no idea how low my driving skills were, at 19 I knew everything, you couldn't have told me different. With some time and experience, I've learned some lessons, and one would be that 16 year olds have no business racing on the street in WRXs. I race with my impreza plenty, it goes like the wind, but try to choose sensible times and places and situations to do it. When the young kids come up along side me in their silly Hondas, I bite the bullet and let them go. When the little bit older ones do, I let them have it.

Old gay opinion huh? Figure'd you'd say something like that. Now I have a new opinion about you. I've said my piece, I'll stick by it.

Repremand. I don't see the reason to buy a kid a rocket for his 16th. Maybe his parents think he'll be responsible and not race with it. I kind of have that same sick look on my face that I can imagine the kid did. But my look would be because you raced him, therefore encouraging him to do it more. It was your big chance to refrain and drive like a responsible adult and set an example. I have a 16 year old daughter, I'd kick your rump roast if you told me you raced her. Time and time again, I'm the leader of a group of cars headed out the hills. That would be me keeping light on the pedal to keep the kids behind me on the road. When it's just me, I get crazy, but when there's a 19 year old kid following me, I take it relatively easy. Ask 'em, they'll probably tell you I don't, but they're always able to keep up.

subaruclub.NET worldwide subaru forum
Hey! lol The one that's bugging me just makes pop ups. I went to Norton's site, it's described as pretty harmless, just annoying. They actually identified the exact onee I have. But yeah, I think he's done a really good job at putting together the site, it's well done. If not deserted. I emailed and asked him to come over here and make himself familiar.

Betting the captive nut broke loose. You may be able to drill a hole in the top of the bed to get to the frame rails so you can grab the top of the nut.

Mud flap mounting
pics indeed The ea82 mudflaps work great. I just hollow out the innards, see pic, and attach them to the car with self tappers. Mudflaps! I did indeed get a 77 dollar ticket for no mudflaps from some ******** cop in a Suburban with no mudflaps.

Is Subarus extended warranty worth it?
ezapar replied to AB/S05Bean's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXMy Mom bought an ' 03 Outback. Came with 6 years of warrantee. They wanted to sell her a couple more years for 2 grand or so. I asked her if she really thought she's own the car for more than 6 years. . . She said no. I advised her that Subarus are by no means as durable as they use to be and told her to sell it after 5 years and get something newer. She opted not to buy the warrantee. The saleman at Carter Subaru, who'd been the friendliest guy on the planet, immediatly turned into a wongleflute. Dummy thought he'd come down a little on the sticker so he could sell a warrantee, psyche. When I bought my 97 impreza used, they tried to sell me a warrantee for 1700 bucks. I asked him if he was selling me a quality vehicle? He said yes, but that the average major repair cost around 800 bucks. I told him that even if I brought it in 2 times for major repairs, I'd still have 100 bucks left over. He also turned into a wongleflute. lol Haven't had to do any work on it so far, (knock on wood) I think I made the right choice. Screw that warrantee unless you plan on keeping the car for 9 years.
