  1. Dam! Jared. That looks like the same position Ken was in today when he broke. . . The middle part. And the last part. Yes.
  2. Ken doing some daredevil stuff he would never have tried in his Subaru. Or his Toyota if I hadn't done it first and egged him on to follow me thru so I could get pics. Pucker factor to the max when I found out how deep it was. Remember, my little truck sits a good 4 inches lower than Ken's. yeah, those are 35s. . .
  3. Yep, we finally got his rig back on the road. It's been a while, over a year even since I've got to wheel with my buddy. The HP's morphed a bit, but we're still pal's. (miss you Mike) Then Now Funner than it looks? The shot doesn't really show the pucker factor. It was there alright.
  4. Hey Jared, cut these guys some slack. You sound like someone peed in your cheerios or something. Bypass is a bypass.
  5. This first one's in Auburn. Not so far, even from Sammammammammish. God, I can't even say it much less find it on a map.
  6. Nice price on the struts and springs. Did the install include the alignment? The install is pretty straight forward and simple if you posess spring compressors, but 150 at a shop is still decent. 30 minutes a corner. . . I got a screaming deal thru a friend and got the struts for 210, the springs I got used for 50 bucks and did the install myself. I guess what we're getting at is 500 bucks is pretty steep for used stuff.
  7. I ahd planned on making a surprise visit to your meeting this coming Thursday, as it's the only one that's remotely close to me. But, the wife's schedule changed. . . SO no go. Any word on a venue for the first race?
  8. It's good to see groups of Subarus out playing. God knows it's pretty rare around these parts any more. Somebody around here needs to step up and start organizing meets.
  9. And for those of you who STILL say you haven't seen Soobs do "hardcore" stuff, here's some pics and a vid that might set you to thinking different. http://s136.photobucket.com/albums/q183/jrgaylor/?action=view&current=greg.flv
  10. I'm glad I went with you the last time, I can recognize all of those places in the pics. Hopefully next weekend we'll be able to generate some shots that are as worthy as those. Thanks Rollie and Scott for sharing. This one's getting a little redundant though. lol
  11. That's ok, it's a friendly place. Say "Zap" for the referal.
  12. Ok, you guys can argue on the other thread, but this here just made my top of the list as far as tough things for a Subaru to do. And that's make a Jeep guy give them any kind of props. Good job Scott!!! http://nw-wheelers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9898
  13. Looks like good fun buddy. Now get up here and add some mud to that and have some real fun. lol Remember, Jared's only as (ahem) *tall* as you are.
  14. Great guesses Rob. Any of those would have worked. see below. Pretty good little shindig. Filled my little house right up to the brim. Here's the HP type people.
  15. That's right, my boy's gonna be 2. I've called a couple of you already and invited you, but if you're any kind of friends with me and my family, feel free to drop on by at about 4 pm or a little after. There's gonna be a Super Secret Special Guest Appearance by Someone You'd All Like To See. Well, you old school Hatch Patrollers that is. You don't wanna miss this chance to see this someone.
  16. Have you looked to see if one of your axles busted. I've seen them break at the joint and still stay inside the boot, looking like they were intact.
  17. A broken stub axle will do the same thing.
  18. Dude, you really should proofread before you hit the "post" button. Not much of your post makes any sense.
  19. It's called reckeless driving, or at least neglegent. Probably cost a license too. Yep, enroll in the rally school. Everybody I know who took it said it helped them. Rally video games work too. They'll give you the basic idea of how to set up a car for a turn or drift. They'll teach you about how to pick a line too. The school will let you apply what the game teaches you. (this from a guy who never took the school, but consistantly places on the podium)
  20. Here's me in Ken's Impreza doing a lap at last year's Subiefest's RallyX, Ken went before that, And the other Ken before that, Thanks to Ed for shooting it and Tex for putting it online.
  21. So I wonder. . . How come your aren't hitting up the AUSubaru board? Those guys lay claim to the gnarliest offroading you can do in a Subaru. (Although I still haven't seen any pics to back that up) They'll tell you they invented the sport. . . As for wanting to see pics and video of Soobs going up stuff like that. The video exists, (the rock climb under the power lines at Reiters for example) you just live too far away to send off my hard earned video to. For a couple hundred bucks, I can buy a ticket and show up anywhere in the US to kick the crap out of anyone I find out is pirating my vids. (I'd do it too ) AU is just too far away to police. See, the cool thing is: Folks have to trade me a physical addy for my vids.
  22. It's funny to log on here and find you had posted this pic. I was just transfering the footage I shot of that climb (essentially the last time Ken's brat was seen alive) onto DVD. . .
  23. Sorry, I'm sworn to secrecy. :-p
  24. I heard a rumor about a pretty sweet Soob off road vid coming out on DVD.
