  1. Did he say where you can get that lift kit? I'm curious.
  2. That place in dangerous to the wallet! Not too much there for Subarus other than lights and tow straps. (and cool redneck stickers lol) But plenty for the Toyota. I left with superswampers and then a whole truck so I could have the bumper and rollbar. (sold it to a good friend with too many projects who's yet to get it on the road) If you have a jeep, you're really in heaven. I'll be avoiding it this year, although I could use some gears and lockers. . .
  3. Here's a link to RallyX results proving that. Note that the 323 and the talon are full on rally cars with rally drivers ar the wheel. The other OBS has a WRX swap in it. Ken and I were being somewhat timid because one of the rear tires was getting torn up from the harsh track. ( I had new rims with more offset and hadn't prepared for it) http://www.historicbrooklyntavern.com/RallyCross7_29.htm

Are you just guessing, or speaking from experience?

You mean like this one? 2.2 AT AWD + nissan transfer case and 12 inch lift and 32s?
  6. But back to the topic of getting into an ea81 hatchback. . . I locked my keys in my first one a couple of times. The rear window was my way in. (It as a DL, no hatch release.) A little wiggle and yank, and the rear window can be made to open. Then with some dexterity, a screwdriver can be used to take off the screws holding it to the car. No damage, no scratches.
  7. Gas tanks aside, keep in mind that I'm going to organize another Hatch Patrol Meet at Evans Creek somewhere about the time of next year's WCSS. We can camp, 4X, drink, party, make noise, and carry on any way we like. I'll give lots of notice as to just when, but probably in July before it gets too dry. I'm thru dealing with the trouble that comes with inviting these young kids in their new hot rods. And I could personally care less about seeing a bunch of new imprezas and or WRXs parked together in a row. OOh a blue one! With green hoses! and a perrin intercooler! OOOhh. . . The only kind of trouble we ever get into at EC is with a busted axle or radius arm or something. So yeah, keep it in mind.
  8. Yeah? My big reason is just that. I was there in my prettiest Brat, the dark blue 86, and the chick filling my tank busted the latch on the gas cap cover. Now why should I have to go to the J/Y, find one and then rebuild mine just because of some stupid person at a gas station? Now I just stand there and watch them like a hawk, arms folded in front of me. lol

hilarious. lol Try the Scorpion website. Google Subaru Scorpion. Prepare to pay.
  10. Tomorrow, Reiters. No really, me and B are headed up for the day. At the end of the month at Walker Valley. Maybe on the 16th. . . I'm ready for rain man. Screw Summer wheeling, I want some mud! (sorry for the hijack Ed)
  11. What about Tex and Monica's wedding on the 23rd? Fix your 4X!!! I need my old 4X buddy back. Far less expensive and time consuming than Rally X bro. Get that 4X running man!
  12. Yes we will. Last time I went there, all of us got our asses handed to us by the trail. Nobody made it out without breakage.
  13. Well put, that means a lot Dan. Especially from you who left WCSS7 pretty mad at me. Only took you about 9 months to cool off. lol Sorry about your wheels, I tried to warn everybody to wash off wheels and brakes after each mud run. I wound up losing my fans on the way home due to mud keeping them from turning, so my car overheated and spent the last 60 miles of the trip on a flat bed. (good old AAA) I'm glad most of you had a good/great time and that our efforts are appreciated. Whoever takes over next year will be some one we pick. We have a good idea just who, but we'll wait till we have a meeting to talk it over with them to announce any successor/s. I'm gonna make it my thing to organize that trip to Evans Creek so we can finaly have the Hatch Patrol Meet 2 next Summer. The only problems at 1 were breakdowns on the trail.
  14. lol You would have got stuck. The guy who ran the backhoe makes off road obstacle courses for a living. He assured me nobody would make it. The next hole was 6 feet deep. You would have got stuck.
  15. But I've got the way to run it next year. The same way I organized #4. Or wait, we didn't attend, we went to Evans Creek and had a 4X meet all weekend and only fun happened. 7 miles of rough pot holed gravel road just to get to the parking lot. Sounds like we need a repeat.
  16. I haven't had any time at all to get started. I'm thinking I just want to put the 2.2 and AWD AT into the wagon. Should make for a pretty sweet sleeper. No lift, keep it on 13s and everything. I expect it to be ready in 60 days or less. I have another project lined up first.
  17. Thanks for sharing Brian. Fun to watch the little imp whip around. Doesn't sound too bad for having a stock exaust.
  18. Ya know, I didn't get any sleep for a week before the show too. Each and every time I woke up in the middle of the night, my brain was going crazy thinking about the planning and all of the loose ends. It was an hour or more each time till I could get back to sleep. I complained to my family and friends the whole week, ask my wife. Ever heard of sleep psychosis? It's brought on by lack of sleep. http://menshealth.about.com/od/lifestyle/a/sleep_depriv.htm I first learned about it while recovering from a stroke I had a year ago. They came in so often to check my vitals and stuff that I couldn't sleep. That and the bed made for elderly people that kept inflating and deflating itself all night. About the time I was apologizing for yelling at a nurse for waking me, she explained to me why I was getting so upset. Last night I finally got some sleep.
  19. Not sure what I did to piss you off Erik, but I'll take that statement as you vollunteering to keep the peace at WCSS9. You have no idea how much I hate being the cop. But nobody else stepped up to help me. It's a HUGE thing to have my name on the X at the bottom of the contract. To be liable for any and all problems is scary as hell. We'll see how you handle it next year. Or maybe it would just be best to go back to a dusty parking lot for 2 hours where no alcohol is allowed, no music is allowed, and no driving over 5 miles per hour is allowed. "Here's your hamburger, your trophy, now go home." Heck, it doesn't even have to be a dusty parking lot, we'll use the Wallmart parking lot on a Sunday evening. And for the record. You let me down too. At the beginning of the planning, you were all gung ho about setting up a TSD rally. wtf?
  20. I'd also like you all to give photos and videos to Noah, he's going to make us a DVD to distribute to make some $ for the cause. I know we have lots of it. Maybe make a 2 dvd box set? lol
  21. Those Canadians are great. Here's one in action. Probably the last photos you'll see of him for a while, his Dad's gonna be pissed! lol Speaking of smiling.
