Anybody have RC cars to bring to WCSS9?
The big ones. They'll be fun in the mud.

What's in your offroad squad? (56k no way)
I think most of you guys just don't get the point of this thread. He means WHO do you roll with, not WHAT DO YOU DRIVE AND HOW MANY PICS OF YOUR OWN CAR CAN YOU POST? Great job reposting all those pics of yourselves though. Anyways. It varies these days for me, but it tends to look like this.

Which car do I take to WCSS9
fixed I say bring the Brat. You'll have the most fun with it, there's mud to get into.

Off Road Poster? Getcher submissions in soon. Just about ready to roll.
I'm thinking a collage of many many pics. I'll put it together if you guys will start posting pics in this thread. When we have enough, I'll start a thread in the For Sale Section to sell them. Only submit pics you own. As in you took the photo or your car is in the photo. No grabbing random pics off of the web. By doing so, you are giving me permission to use them in my poster which I will sell. When I have 50, I'll get on it. So let's see them. 5 submissions per person max, I'll choose one or two of them to use later. ALSO. Size them down a little please. No HUGE rump roast pics, make them say 6 inches by 6 inches. They'll have to be squared up to fit in the poster, so try to sumbmit ones that are square in shape. It'll make it easier, since they will get shrunk down to about 2X2 inches anyways.

Offroad Calender ??
OK, I gotcha. Maybe there's some heavier weight paper to be found. . . Hmmm, now you got me wondering about it too.

How to lift my 97 Outback?????
There is a new thread in the vendor's section from Allied. SJR might be able to help as well. . .

Offroad Calender ??
I miss having mine up on the wall. I'd love to have another. But I know what a pain in the butt it was for the Fly to have them printed. First he had to wait for everybody to agree on the pics, then the long wait while folks drag their collective rump roast paying up. He needed a certain number to be able to get the deal he was after. Not to mention it's kinda the middle of the year Scott. lol This is something we should tackle about September, eh?

why not a 4eat offroad.
If you don't get too big on the tires it might do OK. Keep in mind, it won't have the clearance or travel to actually do any "rock crawling" and you should do fine on basic trails.

ORG National Rallycross results; Pix link added.
Thanks for posting the times Ed. That was about the best time I've ever had Rally Xin'. It was also the first time I was glad it was over. That was a lot of pressure. Not very much sleep and lots of driving over three days time really took a lot out of me. Ken's little brighton is a blast to drive. I'm kicking myself for not bringing the camera and tri-pod. Congrats to Pablo and also to Charles!!

Pretty scenery.

Evans Creek run 5/12/07
You know I'd let you borrow mine. You'd fix it if you broke it. I'd trust ya. That's half your battle. lol

Open Source EJ Lift, let's get going
I like that Scott. Pretty simple. The OB swap gains about 4 inches of height. The OB strut has an extra 1 1/2 inches of travel at each corner too.

Evans Creek run 5/12/07
I'm preparing to move. My next 6 weeks are all booked up. If I wasn't gonna be out of town all next weekend, I might be able to swing it. . .

Open Source EJ Lift, let's get going
The Ozified kit is this >< close to being ready. The website says available by Summer. He's going to do a 2 inch kit that will mate to the OB strut spring swap. It'd save you some time and trouble. . . :-\ Why is your car out of commission? Why will it be that way for a year?

215/75-15 General Grabber AT2 on my lifted OBS
Bring your pics over to SubaruOutback.org They have a forum for the OBS. I bet they'd love to see a fresh face. http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/

215/75-15 General Grabber AT2 on my lifted OBS
That does it, my bumper is definitely getting chopped off. Looks sweet! I think the black rims really dress it up. How big do those measure out to? They look like a 28-29, judging by how hard it was to cram 27s under my imp. I'm really fearing for my clutch. A D/R is gonna be necessary if I'm gonna try to offroad it.

Torsion bar lift?
I really don't see how the camber can be set on an ea81. . . It all just swings like a pendulum. Clocking the torsion bar will gain you some clearance under the diff. But it will make it super tight in the rear, and you will lose up travel. Tire wear won't be affected. Prop wear? not sure what you mean, the drive shaft can take quite a bit of angle. Axles will only complain if you use shocks with longer down travel than the stock ones. Here's what an ea81 looks like with a PK/BYB 3 inch lift in the front and no lift in the rear. Only the torsion bar clocked. I chose to do it to my first lifted hatch. I've found that in order to get the best performance out of an ea81 lifted rig is to unwind the bolt that tightens the torsion bar. Just let it relax, your butt will sag a little, and your wheels will be mush free-er to travel. You'll lose a bit of clearance under the diff, but who cares. You only need as much as the y-pipes or skid plate in the front. After all, that area goes thru first.

OMFriggin'G!!!!!!!! Did you guys see how old Ed is????!!!
Wishin' ya a Happy Six Six Ed!! I sure hope I'm as baddass as you are after I age another 30 years.

Ssr Vs Atv?
No, bumpers won't help your angles. Your radiator/core support is your approach angle. If you protect it with stuff, you lose even more approach angle. Your Y-pipes will always be there.

A trail, A run, no real event, and some news.
Whether you want to argue or not, I think your statement is full of crap. You've got me pretty pissed off, and I'm not gonna bite my tounge. Where exacty in the clip to you see my brat have wheel hop? If so, do you know what wheel hop is caused by? Not by bad driving or "thrashing" but by having bad shocks. I assure you, mine were replaced with new ones. And spitting rocks comes from spinning the wheels. Wheels spinning comes from no lsd or welded diff. You'll notice that once the wheels spun, I let off the gas. I suppose next you'll tell me you've never spun your tires. You know what, I'd believe you. You know why? Cuz you've neve once showed me a pic of your ride doing anything off road except lifting a tire while you posed for a pic on the way down a hill. I'll bet you that you've never ever had a chance to wheel in a place like that spot in the clip. If you had any idea how steep and crazy it is, you would have never made such a comment. Nor if you had seen as many big gnarly rigs as I have break their stuff trying that climb. The video is due out soon. My bet to you is this: If you can produce a vid of you doing any kind of decent wheeling in your brat that doesn't invlove you spinning your wheels, I'll send you a copy of the video free of charge. I'll pay for shipping and everything. If you cannot produce a vid, then you have to stay out of any thread I create from here on out. How about that? We got a bet? (it's my opinion that everything you know about wheeling you found on the internet, you have very little first hand experience.) (articulation)

Not lately, but I have.

A trail, A run, no real event, and some news.
They'll do a lot if you know how to drive them too. FYI, that was the first one I ever lifted. It had over 200k mile on it. I bought it from the local Subaru only junk yard, thye had used it for a deliver vehicle for years. It never broke, I didn't put any dents in it. I can't say I've ever "thrashed" any of my Soobs. I can say I've laughed at others doing it though. I've always been able to drive my cars home, I've only used my AAA twice, and that was to tow buddy's Soobs that were broken. When I sold it, it made the trip to Texas without a breakdown. That's almost 2000 miles I believe. It's down fall was getting rear ended at a stop light by a car traveling over 50 miles per hour.

which kit
You really need to quit talking bad about that kit and take a look at the Ozified web site. The kit has been re-designed in the rear. Also. He's talking about an ea81, so your knowledge of the ea82 kits, whether on the mark or not, is irrelevant. period. I've installed 13? or the BYB/Ozified ea81 kits and I've never seen one have a defect. I've only seen bolts fall out, and that's because the user didn't go back and retighted them after a day or two. Scott's my buddy. I've never installed one of his kits, but I do know that Noah complained it was not that easy to install an ea81 SJR kit. The only problems I've had installing the Ozified kits was with rusty bolts. The "horse shoe" in the rear has been replaced by a longer shock.
