disable rear torsion bar?
So no un-clocking it? Just do the opposite of putting it up a notch.

In the For Sale section, AKA the Marketplace, there's a forum just for posts about stuff for sale on craigslist/eBay. Mods?

Subaru! The most versatile cars on the Planet.
No, it sold with the Bobbed Brat. I had it custom made.

Need Good Advice for Sale of 85 Brat
Well, I was right about the no more tabs part. . . My Brat would still fit, cuz it's not insured as my daily driver, the truck is. Cheapest that way. Imp is insured as a second car.

Need Good Advice for Sale of 85 Brat
I think that here in WA, anfter 25 years, a car can become a collector's vehicle. Means you buy the plate saying so, and then no more tabs. 2 more years for 2 of my vehicles. lol

Rear 3.90 LSD
- Rear 3.90 LSD
Here ya go, a pic of it exploded. Tell your friend to call while in LA. Maybe we can get it shipped to him over night or something. PM me for my phone #.- Suberdave, Qman... I challenge you!
Tex, pm me your email addy, I'll send the 5 or 6 pics you took.- Suberdave, Qman... I challenge you!
Tex was in some pretty sweet company. Before him was a baddass XR4Ti turbo. Beautiful noise out of the back. Couple of friggin' volvos too. I didn't stick around to ask.- Rear 3.90 LSD
USA's a pretty big place. Where exactly? 200 bucks max around Seattle, Washington. There's a junk yard 6 blocks away from me that's Soob only. They ALWAYS have one or more laying around. YOu could just take the innards out and bring them back home. Then swap them into your diff. (read Mick's write up in the repair manual. Qman did one too I think)- Every one Read Ive got to get something off my chest.
I'd agree with the term "cult" being used to describe the folks of the USMB. Cults worship a certain item and shun all others, shun outsiders. Ask most of the folks in the off road section. They all tend to get hissy and stuff if a non-Subaru shows up there. I've owned some 30 Subarus. I've lost count. I love the AWD. If Subaru didn't make AWD/4WD, I'd drive a honda or a toyota. (I do have a Toyota for wheeling, it'll chew up the average highly modded, big tire wearing, lifted Soob and spit it out. And it's stock except for 33s and a 3 inch spring lift. Cost about as much to build a Soob.) But I'll tell ya something I've aquired here at the USMB besides knowing terms like "clocked", "4X140", "topper", and "pitch stopper". I have a place to stay in: All over WA State Oregon: Portland, Medford, Eugene CA: Sacremento, San Diego, SF more Idaho Montana Iowa Nevada Texas Minnesota (I'm sure Numbchux'd put me up if I needed it ) Connecticut Indiana (you still there Fox?) Utah Colorado South Dakota And maybe a few other States in a pinch. I've met some 120+ USMB folks in person, done business with half of them, and broke bread with most of them. I've had maybe 15 different members stay at my house, probably 50 have been there at one time or another. I have 10 or more of their numbers in my celly on speed dial. I'll be 40 next year. I've owned 2 Fords, 1 Chevy. No Dodges.- #$^$%%# roll pin!
What Miles said. The right tool for the job. Buy two in case you lose one. Home Depot should carry them too.- Suberdave, Qman... I challenge you!
Got back a minute ago. Tex's Ultimate RX did very well. I'll let him tell you exactly just what the numbers were, but let's just say it did better than a stock WRX.- FAILED emissions test
Almost certainly what your problem is. You can go to an emmissions specialist, pay 150 bones, get a waiver. Or you can go find a Weber 32/36 for about 3 bills, hook it up properly, pass emmissions and have a better running more powerful brat.- Brat Hauling Trailer? Trailer build?
I came >< close once to to cutting a brat in half and using the rear for a trailer. Still might someday. But Richie couldn't stand the thought of me doing it, so came and took it away.- straight axle soob
Some coupel of years ago, I went to PaP and checked on axles. I can't remember the exact year, but an older Carona had a solid axle in the rear with what appeared to be 3.9 gears in it. (we counted wheel/driveshaft turns) It was small, and would probably mount with the same mounts from the Toyota.- Suberdave, Qman... I challenge you!
I'd like to show up to watch. Might too.- Should I put a Toyota build thread on a Subaru message Board?
After seeing that pic, I've got a feeling that the most lowered soob in the world would have gone on its side or worse. Cool pic Brian. Wentworth Springs is the way we entered.- Should I put a Toyota build thread on a Subaru message Board?
So uh. . . pics or what? And what's up with your already putting it on its side 2 times? lol I've (knock on wood) kept mine wheels side down, although I've wheeled it a bunch in the 2 years I've owned it.- My Demolition Derby build...by. harpua
Awesome Donny. How do your feet handle it? I can feel it from here. Killer car. Wish I woulda caught this thread before.- 4runner
Switch the wheels to "locked". "Free" for 2X. Then select 4X while in neutral. NEVER switch between 4X or 2X while moving.- Headed out to the cabin on the weekend of the 11th & 12th
lol Fine, but I'll move the thread. Here's Jared as the truth about simple Toyotas vs highly modded Soobs hit him. The photo is pretty dark, but you can get an idea of how gnarly the mud pit is. Just how muddy it got. I had to scrape off most of the mud from the wheels to get rid of the wobble.- Headed out to the cabin on the weekend of the 11th & 12th
Had a blast. Only took a few pics, not enough to start another thread in the "other" vehicles forum. Don't wanna piss anybody off by posting them here. Jared got the bug for sure now. I let him drive it. He was pretty amazed at how being basically stock it easily did stuff his monster might not have done, or at least not without a fight. Did manage to get it stuck the last run out. It must have been midnight or later. Took my sister's Mom out for her first 4X run ever. She survived. Did real well at not panicking while I was winching it out. It's very muddy now. Thanks for showing up and hanging out Jared. - Rear 3.90 LSD
