  1. Pretty hatch haunt. Aren't you glad you didnt' sell it? That's not necessarily true. Mine's been lifted for 6 years, and it's still pretty beautiful. Just because you take a Soob off road, doesn't mean you have to trash it.
  2. OK, Update. Don't think it had anything to do with the temperature. Was kinda skeptical about that initial diagnosis, cuz I've had several of these Webers on my cars, and never that problem. Cold or otherwise. Even with the temps in the 50s, it still had problems going up the big hill to get to my house. (about a mile long or so) I'm probably 200 feet above sea-level, maybe 3, so it's not an elevation thing either. Long steady hills seemed to be what pissed it off. I got around to changing the fuel filter in the front and I cleaned and re-oiled the KNN. Took it for a drive, attacked the big hill, and had no problems, it growled right up to the top. I think the problem is solved.
  3. No. That stuff usually wouldn't come up unless you had wrecked the car. Then they check #'s and make you show receipts from where you got the replacement parts when they inspect it for a rebuild title.
  4. Got it. 874364 I sent you an email about 10 minutes ago. EZ
  5. It's not too bad. I let it run for about an hour when it first got here with the AC cranked.
  6. I'd vary that to say "gently" rather than HARD. It'll go out of 4X if you press it down gently whle driving in a straight line. Goose the gas just a little while doing it. If all of the above suggestions fail, just jack up one side off of the ground. The wheels will unbind. Tell her next to only drive it in 4X when NOT on paved surfaces.
  7. Thanks bigtime. I never woulda found it. There was just the smallest hint of gold metallic showing. I wiped it off, and it was in perfect condition, very readable.
  8. I need to match it to the body if I'm gonna send it to Australia. It's friggin' freezin' outside, so if I know where to look, I can maybe keep my fingers from falling off. Thanks. EZ
  9. Very nice wagon. The black pugs look sweet. How do we get a few of these lifted EA cars together?
  10. Ya know, I'd really like to build another. Just to do it. Most likely I'll ship it to AU. There's a shortage of hatches there. It's got working AC too.
  11. OK, got it home. Paid him 25 bucks for gas, he threw it on his dolly and hauled it @35 miles to my place. What a beauty in the daylight. It's in almost perfect condition for having 206k miles on it. Here's some pics. It's been sitting, so it's a little damp inside, hence the foggy windows. No smell though. pheewww. The sunroof doesn't leak!
  12. I'll meet up with him at noon to pick up the car! Pics to follow.
  13. You should take a walk thru the REI parking garage on any given day. You'd take that back with the quickness. lol Is Tahoe the West Coast? Does Tahoe have any Subaru only Junk Yards? Seattle does. Search for Aaron's Auto Wrecking, White Center.
  14. I went up late in the day to look for Austin and Carl. Austin posted it days before, so you kinda did get a call. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=83235 I wasn't really interested in a group thing, just me and my dog and a little fun in the Brat.
  15. I can see a line thru there. Keep in mind, I never did say they are rock crawlers. But it does pretty darn good, better than I remembered.
  16. I don't think it will work. If no one here steps up with one, try these guys: Aaron's Auto Wrecking 1-800-541-7271 http://aaronsauto.com/ Ask for Tom, tell him Eric Zap told you to call. Maybe he'll cut you a deal. . . They're Subaru only and not scared to ship. Just down the street from me too.
  17. I'd have to wonder if your toe is out. Wheels pointed like this: \ / I've always had the opposite, the tires wear on the outside because of camber that changes with the lift.
  18. Since I bought my Toyota (or as my Grampa from Boston used to pronounce it, "Tie-ata") I've kinda been knocking the capability of a Lifted Soobie in the offroad. Well, I took the Brat up to Reiters Pit a week ago and did some pretty gnarly stuff. I climbed a pretty friggin' hard hill climb, and then managed to get pretty high up under the powerlines trail in mud and 4-6 inches of snow. Brought it home unscathed, no bumps or bruises on the Brat. Thought to myself, damn these really do wheel pretty good, I'd forgotten. Yesterday I took it over to my old man's house and played in his field of muddy swampy bark. I was driving it around it front wheel drive untill it would get good and stuck, then putting it in 4WD and blasting out of being stuck. Haven't done it in a Soob for quite a while. I love my posi by the way. Anyways, she's muddy again after all these years. I think she's happy. And I am back to being a believer in just what a set of swampers can do when put on a Brat/Hatch/whatever.
  19. Still waiting. His son had a baby day after Xmas. The car is in his son's name, so they have to go to the DMV to get paperwork for a lost title so I can get one for it. I told him to wait till after the Holidays, I understand how having a newborn can really put a wrench in the works. Sorry.
  20. My impreza fills up the spare tire area with water. I know it comes from the tail lights. I'm also too lazy to pull the tail lights to re-seal them. A couple of holes poked in the low spot, and whallah! No puddle. Several of my old GLs had the same problem you describe. Same cure, a well placed hole or two and the water goes away as quick as it comes.
  21. I guess if someone tells you enough, it'll sink in eh? Here's a blurry one for ya Andy. Been on the Brat for at least 5 years.
