87 RS turbo 3-door in junkyard
josh (1ABAJA) id giving them a call to pitch a deal, and for details. but the guy there told me he had no turbos until i told him the black one was turbo i speculate the turbo has a bad head gasket at worst, a broken timing belt, or a bad trans. i would suspect the 4x4 wagon has just a broken belt, or a bad clutch.

87 RS turbo 3-door in junkyard
i am speculating lsd, maybe it doe4snt, but it definately had an automatic. it also has the 87 style steering wheel. the outside is a little rough, but normal for what's expected around here. the interior is in pretty good shape for how the car looks lets say, ported heads, 5spd dual range, or 5spd full time xt6 trans, 5-lug suspension(i have all the parts minus struts) it could pobably be built to spank a stock RX without too much effort

87 RS turbo 3-door in junkyard
i will make an offer for both the RS and the dual range wagon and see if they will accept. if the price is right, i'm sure they would sell both to make thir money quick and all at once. i figured an offer of 300, but i will start with 200, to entertain the notion

Feature YOUR ride on my secret website*sticky please*
i just realized i have 43 megs of stuff. i have started more pages having to do with maintenance, service, and modifications. i have linked the existing pages as i make them, althought content needs to be added to each page. once it goes on-line, all of the pages that have content or are complete will have a link. Text will be there for the pages in progress, and the link will be activated once that page is up All of the content thus far is of my own origination, pictures i have taken myself, or ohotos that i have scanned. and a link to USMB The Frame is complete. The Front page is complete. the "My Subarus" page is complete, with links to mine and our local rides. All of the rides listed will have a link, and all of the rides that are linked are complete, or have all of the pictures but no text, at this moment I have other stuff that the navigation bar links to, but i will get the SUBARU done first

Syncro and CV replacement?
the cv axle can be serviced with a 36mm nut, a 3/16 in drift punch, and a good sized hammer. if you search, you will find a lot on the procedure, many different tricks to the trade. if the axle doesnt pop too bad, the boots can be replaced, also

who has made the xt6 knucle-to-ea strut adapter?
my xt6 parts came minus the struts. i am contemplating making an adapter, if i cant find ea struts. are the xt6 struts the same diameter as the ea struts?

87 RS turbo 3-door in junkyard
i saw it there, black 3-door with wing, no body ground effect. turbo and automatic(i assume its 4wd) does it have a rear lsd? it has a gold soob logo on the rear trunk lid, grey interior. its all there minus the wheels. the motor is all there, but it looks like squirrels have been living under the hood.

New headlight problem
could be a bad headlight. i got a ticket for driving with the brights working only on 1 light(no lo beam) i had the dash apart before looking for a relay when i first got the car. i replaced the bulbs and it was all good(i re-uused the ones from trashwagon 4, which came from a buick)

Starts up then shuts down after 5 sec
try checking the electric choke pull off. i have a hitachi with everytthing taken off, and it would start then die. i disconnected the choke vacuum and now it runs right.

1988 Subaru Wagon Qs
yeah, that spot is perfect for a pop can, 20 oz coffee, or maybe even a 32 oz fountain pop the dual range trans has a lower final gear than the pushbutton, so it would turn bigger tires easier. you can also use the fatter turbo axles from an automatic that matches the same spline you can put on 14 inch pufeot wheels, for bigger tires. or you can mod the hub for 6 lug toyota wheels, or swap in an xt6 suspension to fit subaru 5 lug 13-17 inch wheels it would be easier to put all that into an already turbo car, but if you can find a turbo motor complete with wiring harness, its worth a shot. if you change the whole wiring harness to the whole turbo car, you can use the instrument cluster with the tach an oil p. gauge the spfi motor has somewhere around 95 hp, and the turbo has 115 stock, but a good 125 hp can be had with simple boost mods

'84 brat, front end problem
check to see of the top strut-to-capp bolt is tight. my car was floppy and that one escaped me for a while... sometimes the rubber in the top of the strut cap will tear out. check there too

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone
i am thankful for the cobbled together axle i built from jim's leftovers, the carb i got from alleyboy, and the fact that my car has been reliable nonetheless, with a missing axle and floppy carb before, and making it to tom's to get my XT6 parts, then to my mom's, and here to my sisters, and the almost full tank of gas in my ride! and i will soon give thanks to the sticky greenness:headbang: :bday:

of your pics, the 2nd one is most dramatic. eyesore austin in river. and of course, TrashWagon5(the last pic in the album) my sister's comp wont let me access the photo gallery, so my latter choices are from what i remember seeing

Help needed with oil in air filter and ticking engine
myoss feeces motor puled oil because the pcv HOSES were clogged like a bad coronary artery. he replaced them with standard 5/8 hose. do the 5/8 hose, if you can bend it right, might have to make your own custom lengths so they dont kink:-)

5speed d\r in a 84 turbo wagon
change the tranny crossmember. you will need the 5spd's driveshaft and rear diff. axles will fit the same. you DO NOT have to modify the bellhousing to fit the flywheel because it is TURBO you may have to widen the trans tunnel. also use a "Miles Fox's Kit", about 3 bucks in washers, ask General disorder. it was my suggestion, he an austin have got it to work. a 4 spd will go in with no mods, but you will need its driveshaft, crossmember, and rear diff. the ea82 trans crossmember will fit the same.

EA82/EA81 Intake thought/Idea
yeah, spfi would be th best choice, having the highest compression ratio. i missed that about the ea82t, no it wont work on dual prts. the only thing that fits on dual ports is the turbo intake and the xt spider intake(mpfi)

thread questions
m10 1.25 mm htread for the trans stud, same as exhaust and most every other 14mm bolt. dont know the knock sensor, it may be tha same as the egr to head fittings

what engines fit gen 1 brats
with the xt6 parts i am getting, it comes with the xt's crossmember. i am going to cut thet up to modify the ea81 crossmember, and do the ea82 lower control arm conversion like i did the trashwagon. i will put the xt6 stuff on my gl-10 turbo spfi carb wagon, and use the leftovers for the brat build. after its all said and done, i have a spare ea82 motor to throw in there and get it to fit. but all i have is the 4spd 4x4 tranny for the brat, but the 4wd s/r is coming out of the wagon, i can try to fit that in the brat also. who out there has 5spds in the gen 1 brat. pay attention 78turbo brat, i will let you know how the 5 spd wants to go in! if the ea81 does indeed fit(with framerail mods) i know who has a complete turbo motor with ecu and all the goodies!!! if he will come off it..............

Looking for good head gasket sealant
head gaskets for subarus have graphite facing that allows for different expansion rates between the block and the head. although the head and block are aluminum, the head is going to heat up faster than the block, until it evens out. ps: how much were the head gaskets from auto zone. i recall one account where a head gasket from advance auto was like 40 bucks, but were like 27 at napa.
