It was kinda hard on things this last weekend Woody, Will, Cody, Lisa, Chris, and I went out to kill our Subys. We went to one of our buddys lots in Conway, WA this is what we got into. This is where the Brat Ended. I blew the trans. in this hole So I went back home and Chris (Audio_file) and I changed it out in 4 hours. Chad and Tami (soon to be Wife and Brother-in-law) Where playing in the SJR Wagon. The meeting place Woodys sedan Wills wagon The one of a kind GL109 Lisa's Hatch other rigs that where there Jason Larse There are a few more I might post up later too. All Said and done I blew a trans., Will (3eyedwagon) lost a trans., LF Wheel bearing, and broke his stearing shaft. Woody had fuel or motor problems, and Lisa, Chad and Tami had no trouble at all. PS Thank you Chris (audio_file) for your help Satuday. Jeff

Will, I got that Short block on the floor that is a EA81. Not sure if that is a hydraulic lifter one or not but if anything it will give us an Idea for what'll be coming up to get one apart. Jeff

Question EA81 SPFI
I didn't put the Spfi on but I did put the EA82 carbed setup is on it. I kept the EA81 bellhousing on it and did Not use the Ea82 Bellhousing. I was wondering how to time this thing now.I used the EA82 flywheel. Did I mess up not using the EA82 bellhousing or do I time it just like a EA81. I hope I made sence. Jeff

I need pics of EA81'd EA 82 Cars (motor set up)
I started a New project tonight, I realized I went in a bit blind. I am trying to put to put an EA81 in my EA82 Wagon, Everything is going fine so far except......... The intake. I'm trying to use the EA82 intake on the EA81 motor, and it don't want to fit, it's pretty close, but close dosen't work. My new plan is to just use the EA81 intake and carb. I would like to see what other people have done, Since I have a bad Idea of what I'm doing. The car that I am working on is an 86 GL Wagon, Carbed not SPFI, The motor I'm putting in is an EA81 I think an 85. I don't know if that matters to know what year the EA81 is, but I figured I would cover all my bases. Thanks Jeff

BRAT registration, car or truck?
In Washington I think that the 78-81's are considered a car and 82 up is a truck. My old brat(79) was lilke a, NSF-123 plate number and my 82 Brat is a A76763Y, they charge me tonage like it's a 1/2 Ton Ford F-150. But the owners manual says the Max payload is 350lbs:dead: Jeff

pics of progress
I painted my 83 Wagon with it. Seems to stick to metal too:rolleyes: I painted the plastic around the headlights and couldn't match the color so I just kept using it. It seems to stay on pretty good so far. Jeff

NW Subaru Offroad Get together 2008
Sort of. We , Me and 4 or 5 of the other northern guys met up with Zap and Austin back in 2004, We did not know the area and all we knew was the parking lot area. there was not enough hard A in our camp site to stay warm. We had to meet everyone early and living 125 miles away We would have had to leave at 4AM, so we just stayed in the parking lot. In this day and age I would drive the new Wagon I bought from Scott, But the friggin thing is stuck in low range, 4500 rpms for 125 miles = lots of gas. So in turn, that means I'm out. Jeff

Should just straighten that one up a bit and lift it. You look to be right near reiter pit so it sounds like a good reason to do it right? Jeff

NW Subaru Offroad Get together 2008
I've camped there before, in the parking lot. It was the worst night of my life. I woke up to 3" of water in my tent. I stayed in Oct. though so you know what that would be like. I'd be up for a meet if it was up this way more. Evens creek is just way, Way to far, if anything breaks, it's over. Canada to marysville is my "Comfort" Zone. There has to be some place up your way isn't there Scott? Maybe up past kendell or Maple Falls? Jeff
