  1. We're here waitin for ya! Carlisle! Carlisle! Carlisle!
  2. We'll have to scrounge you up a nice Legacy for cheap off of craigslist.
  3. I dont think it looks bad at all. If I lived where it was practical, I could see owning one. As far as being a deathtrap, I dont think it would be any less safe than an ea81 car ever was. ... and the "ricer B.O.V. sound generator" = pathetic
  4. Hotness. Just..... hotness! I really like the trunk-rack, actually. Looks nice. (now, just dont get me going on how jealous I am that youre actually OUT THERE!) Have fun!
  5. Wow! Night wheeling. Youre a braver soul than I am. I always shoot for the main trail about 1/2 hour before sunset.
  6. Maybe so, but up here... this is the way most people are at my rental counter. This is true of many models, lets hope they can do it I dont necessarily agree with all the folks who say that they NEED an AWD. My subaru (Bucky) got me through the last winter just fine in 2wd. If subaru made a 2wd again, I would be open to buying it. Especially considering the gas mileage.
  7. If this is gonna turn into a "gas price" thread, allow me to speculate. #1 - I know that Ford and GM still get a sizeable chunk of change through "fleet" vehicle sales. This being said, their reliability (and gas mileage) are in the toilet, and everyone knows it. I rent vehicles for a living, and more and more customers want a "dependable Japanese car" instead of a chevy malibu thats just like the one they have "in the shop" #2 - If (when) gas hits 4 bucks a gallon (or higher ) Subaru will STILL be ahead of the big-three in fuel economy (and reliability) .... and WE will have bigger things to worry about. :-\
  8. We had a demo derby thread on here a while ago.... it created LOTS of bad feelings if I remember correctly, so I would say NOT to demo a good soob That car doesnt actually look that bad (to me) I would say fix it and drive it! Better yet... lift it and wheel it!
  9. Angle grinder = HEAT (unless you go r e a l l y slow)
  10. I have a dash that sits completely disassembled on the kitchen table right now....we know all about it! The driver's vent I should have. Lemme know
  11. Do you need all the vents? There is no aftermarket... but I have some that arent sun-bleached
  12. I like what you did with the Y-pipe! Does it run any hotter / different?
  13. Good times.... good times! Nice work.... reminds me SO much of when I got my brat. FYI, you'll probably need to dissasemble and clean the blower motor box over the pass footwell to get rid of that not-so-fresh "mousey" feeling. I drove mine for a month before I finally ripped the whole thing apart and cleaned it with bleach in the tub.
  14. +1 Ive seen this as well. Ive frustratingly written it off as more piss-poor planned-obsolescence. To me this makes as much sense as tie rod ends without grease fittings. Best of luck acquiring just the filter (they dont even have a seperate p#) J/Y maybe?
  15. Darn. I was hoping this whole thing with Rocky was just an elaborate April fools gag.
  16. I got mine yesterday. Thank you very much! On a side note, I must say.... VERY nice workmanship! The plate is beautiful. Should the need arise, I would not hesitate to buy another from SJR. They are well worth the price.
  17. Connie, Just remember what we were preaching at Steve all day saturday. If it doesnt see salt, it wont rust. If you are true to your word, and keep that coupe in the garage all winter (and dont let it out until all the salt has washed away in the spring) it wont be any different than if it was out west. From the time I got my brat, it has never seen a winter. The rust it had on it has not spread, because I keep it on a no-salt diet Our situation is better than someone right on the coast. They have salt in the AIR. :-\ At least OUR salt is trucked in and avoidable.
  18. Just to set the record straight.... Buckster gets washed at least weekly (by hand) We just happened to get slammed with a snowstorm in my area just before I had to drive up to Connie's.
  19. OK..... 83 views, and nobody posts? Im steppin up. Bump for a good weekend! (and a solid creampuff)
  20. My old baja This has to be my favorite pic of it.
