  1. Curt, if you are coming up to CT, stop in at my place and see the brats. i also might be able to hook you up with some parts. i have a rust free drivers fender (a few dings) maybe a pass side, and some other ea81 parts.
  2. that is a bummer, but it sure could have been alot worse on you. no doubt that car is totaled. the rear wheel is turned and the front clip looks pretty tweaked, probly has a bent unibody.
  3. 3k rpms is nothing for a 13b:-p i used to rev mine up to 9k+ try that in sube. 13bs are meant for it, and need it for power. i find subes to be decent from 3k to about 4.5k, but before and after is kindof sluggish. don`t get me wrong tho, i love my ea81s:headbang: rx8s might be a 1300 cc not sure:confused:
  4. rotary engines are only useless if you don`t know how to drive them keep your revs up and they are awesome;) new rx8s are only 1100cc but if driven right, they can hang with a vett
  5. i used black house paint and rolled it on with those mini foam rollers from the dollar store.
  6. i used bondo and it worked pretty good. just put it on lightly as there is not enough room to cheese grate it. also tape up the dash vents so you don`t get too much dust in there from sanding.
  7. looks like a gen 2 to me jeff:rolleyes: either way nice score x2
  8. yeah, i`d like to know how you got the paint off as well. i am trying to do the same thing, but so far i`ve only tried mineral spirits which didn`t even begin the take off spray paint.
  9. i`d say $500ish if the body is rust free or near it. 1600 single ranges are fine for road use, and get great milage. 2wd 5sp's are also nice for milage and have a little more power than the 4wds.
  10. use 87 octane, it'll do just fine. i used to get 34 mpg constantly with my std 1600. that was with 87 octane, and running it kind of hard. right now i`m fighting to get 25 mpgs with my 4wd brat 1800:rolleyes: it was used to premium gas its whole life, and it doesn`t ping at all with regular.
  11. something like this but lower and with black sti alloys, a bigger engine, and red lettering. a gen 1 wagon would be cool as well.
  12. i think a lowered ea81 hatch with a ej20tt and 6sp awd would be sweet. then paint it black with tinted windows and black wheels with 1 red stripe down the side. i`m sure pretty much any older sube you put an ej20g or tt or t will be pretty slick.
  13. i am fairly new to ej's, but i have recently found a 93 impreza awd 5sp with the ej18, and i was just wondering, how well built are they? did the ej18s have comparable power to a ej22? how was the milage? reliability? are they non interference? i'd hate to give the brat a salt bath this winter, so i`m hoping to pick this up cheap. the body is kind of rough, but it only has 100k, and seems to run fine. hopefully it has a little more power than an ea81, cause i`d like to use the drivetrain in the brat next summer.
  14. hi Todd, yea, i`d definatly sell it. i`d like to get $55+shipping. its a new nos door. let me know, Jon
  15. if you pass on it, and its rust free, i`m interested for sure! if its not to expensive, i`d glady have it shipped up here to NY.
  16. cool thanks! looks like mine is 35 3/8 inches so i`m guessing its probly a wagon or coupe door.
  17. hi i just picked up a nos gen 1 front drivers door along with a bunch of other parts i bought for my gen 2 brat, but i am not sure if its a brat, wagon, or coupe door. can someone please measure the outside of their brat or wagon door so i can verify? thanks! Jon
  18. awesome! i sure hope you will be able to make it as nice as this one some day. if you lived closer, i`d glady help you restore some of your vintage subes on a weekly basis. are you driving it home? whos driving the gl-10 and the getaway car?
  19. wow that is awesome! i`m thinking that now i`ll have to find one to ship over from out west to restore. first have to sell the hatch tho. it would be nice to do a resto like that one, but add a d/r 5sp with lsd and a spfi ea81 under the hood. that would be a hell of a truck. i`d ditch the cap tho. miss the old 78 now:-\
  20. Oh, and Andrew, what kind of shape is the sedan in? how about a possible trade for a 97 metro with 85k?
  21. wow you got that smell for free:D and its ran well enough to drive to CT! i had to pay $100 for a non running crx that smelled that way:mad: its almost breath taking
  22. harry's u pull it has a turbo xt in the second section of imports towards the back. it had the spider intake on it, and the motor looked decent. that was last week.
  23. how long did it take you guys to get to my place from Connie's? if you guys are having a meet up, please let me know, and i'll ride down in the new brat. also, if paul will be there, i'll bring the fe motor and exhaust.
  24. harry's u pull it is great. i just went there last week when they had the $35 transmission special. there was only 1 OB there at that time tho. there was tons of legacys, imprezas, and loyales tho. i would suggest Gary's u pull it in Binghampton NY, they had at least 3 post 95 legacies and OBs (same tranny) and i was up there 2 weeks ago. its a straight run up 17, i can make it in about 2hrs flat from walden.
