looks pretty sweet and rust free:grin: throw a blower on and some stacks out of the hood, and i`d swear i saw it in mad max the movie:headbang: those wide track wheels look awesome on there too:Flame:
-
got any pics of mad max? i don`t think i`ve ever seen him. i`ve only seen summer and the forester....
-
this was my first winter in a ej series awd roo, and i must say, it was awesome fun. all day i was doing donuts and drifting around. so what if it cost $30 in gas, it was fun. i was getting thumbs up and waves from other subaru people all day as well. got stuck once (high centered) and amazingly, a guy with a legacy GT pushed me out:banana: sUbEs 4 lIfE:burnout:

summer of 08 will be my WA trip year. maybe we'll run into eachother Paul:burnout: can`t wait

Rear disc brakes for a Gen-1?
75subie replied to SakoTGrimes's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
look up zefy's gen 1 rear disc write up. he did it fairly easilly and liked the results. -
i had a 79 cvcc with a 1600, and that thing would have easilly outran my 79 brat. i still like the brat better though, just cause its a pickup with a boxer engine and 4wd. plus no timing belts or chains to worry about.....

buying and selling as many cars as i have, its tough to be that brand loyal. i love subarus, and i keep buying them, but from what i`ve seen, hondas are great cars as well. better fuel milage, higher miles not a problem, comfort, smoothness, acceleration etc..... anyway, subarus are my favorite as well, and i love the great community that comes with them.

i could keep going but i`ll stop........... now back on topic

kind of a hi-jack but... AWESOME rig Rollie!! -
your on crack...... that honda civic must have been a 4wd wagovan with 4 people in the car and a load of groceries. plus, i thought we were talking old gens? not $50k wrx 600hp's
-
well thats a given they also cost about 60 times as much as the gl brat we're talking about........
-
man you need to drive a honda or something. subarus just aren`t fast. they are fun, and they can get rolling to 90, but they are not fast;)
-
plus, whats the point if they are still 13s??

peugeot wheels have the same lug pattern, and come in 14 or 15 inch. also toyota wheels can be drilled to fit by knocking 2 studs out of your subaru bolting plates, bolting them to the toyota wheels, and using the holes as a jig to drill out the wheels. the opposite studs on the subaru plate will match up to opposite studs on a toyota wheel.

i guess you haven`t looked under it yet. the previous owner had the cat removed and a flex pipe put in its place. when going up the hill to matamoras, i either have to drop the brat into third, or if i hold the petal to the floor i can maintain 55 in the slow lane. i`m happy anyway, just cause its a brat..... -

well, i know if it had second gear, it could have easilly hung with my ea81 brat. i will admit tho, it is a throw away car, and thats all. at least if it got stolen, you wouldn`t be in the hole much, and its easilly replacable. total opposite of an old subaru..... -

your pm box is full Andrew btw.......... how is the metro holding up? it was a pretty good little rig if you ask me. i think it would hold its own against any older subaru as well lol. are you or your father driving it? did you swap trannys? -

just spoke to the guy, i guess it was $1300. sadly, he's only going $150 off, so thats still $1150, a little more than i was thinking. he said its been in a barn ever since he bought it. still has the clear AZ title as well...... -

yeah it might have been, not sure. my memory is already shot:dead: its the one i dumped, just can`t remember if it was for $1000 or $1300:lol: -
well, out of the 5 ea81ts i`ve ever seen in real life, 4 of them had head gasket issues, so you can understand my reasoning;) that spfi swap sounds pretty good tho
