could i put together a decent system from the y pipe back without welding?i am thinking 2in to 2.5in straight pipe to a glasspack in the back.would there be much power increase?what would be the best choice for a muffler?i hear thrush makes a good product, but would it be this style: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Thrush-turbo-mufflers-2-New-in-box_W0QQitemZ8010906875QQcategoryZ33636QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem or this style?: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1-Set-THRUSH-Magnum-GlassPack-2-1-8-Mufflers-19-99_W0QQitemZ8010607868QQcategoryZ33636QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem any info is appreciated Jon

did you have a straight pipe all the way up to the y pipe?did it need to be welded, or just clamps?do you remember the cherry bomb brand?i like the look of the big chrome pipe coming out the back

your best bet would be a weber, accel super coil, accel plug wires, ea81 2wd electric disty swap, and maybe a hi-flo exhaust.if you want to go into the motor, a delta cam would help to.it would be a sleeper, caboobaroo did all this, and had his brat set up in RWD.

on 13in alloys, i just put some new tires on, and gained at least 1 & 1/2 in`s from original height.i can check on the size if you want.

i will be adding a weber in the next couple weeks, then an accel coil and electric disty swap.in the process of putting together some kind of decent interior, and putting in a CD player.also putting in a cyclops light Phatbrat just sold me.brake and susp maybe after the winter.i love this little thing, runs smoother than my Dad's forester:lol: also built like a tank:D thanks for the replies guys

thanks for all the comments guys!i used that rubberized undercoating on the frame. (for all of about 6 bucks) did the whole thing.it improves the look and protects from rusting.fyi, its a pain to get off your hands, trust me, i ended up using gas. i love the way the black looks on these steelies, kind of gives the truck a utility look.going to put some chrome trim rings on the wheels also.the best paint for wheels is engine or heat paint (made by krylon, comes in a spray can) it has a much harder and better looking finish that regular spray paint.

picked it up friday.not really what i was expecting (kappy kind of lied about the interior and a couple dents) it still is rust free and has alot of potential.the interior is shot, but it probly runs better than any other sube i`ve owned. after taking off the cap, cleaning it up, undercoating the unibody, and painting the wheels, here is how she looks.

it think sweet82`s subuggy is pretty cool.pop-rivet some metal onto it, and it would look like those hummers.

Latest mod.... at LEAST 50hp :)
75subie replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i put a "high performance" sticker on my brat once, believe me it was very scary fast.i bet it made at least 50hp.i ended up removing it from the body and stashing like 10 of them in the glove box:grin: there are also stickers that increase and decrease the value of your car
