  1. Um...hello!....see the sig? BTW:It's a daily driver, about 65miles a day.
  2. I suprized that you don't have the code to unlock the CD player, that is if you "really" had it in your old car. Anyway you can't find the code anywhere you might have to send it out to the manufaturer so they can recode it for you. At this point you have to decide if it's worth it or just go get another cheap deck. Thats up to you though. To make sure, try finding a audio store that sells AIWA units, they might know how to take care of it.
  3. I too became obbsesed after my dad decided to trade in the 84 Ford Granade for a brand new 87 GL-10 Turbo Sedan ( I even got to pick the color. Midnight blue:) ) That car was the shizzle, BUT! We also had an 81 VW dezil Rabbit that I started to assume would be mine after my dad got the Suby. So I was also becomming obsesed with VW's. The rabbit died of head failer and cancer about a year before I got my license, so when time came around to look for a first car for me I wanted either an aircooled VW or a Subaru BRAT. I searched for many good VW but never found one solid enough to want to buy. Then one night I went to an auto auction with my freind and his dad (who owns a used car repair shop) and there it was, an 85 BRAT......T-tops, 4 speed, charcoal gray....I was in love. He got his father to buy it that night and I road home in it for the first time. :) I later bought it for $995 and was on my way to eternal Subaru ownership. Haven't looked back since and never will.
  4. There has to be a thread on this somewhere already! Anyway Stock Subaru radios use a single ground for the speaker wires, (DON"T do this for the new deck) You will have to run new speaker wires to the front speakers, (At least to the plug that run through the doors) If you unhook the stock plug for the front speakers you can use the stock wires to power the rear speakers. The color code is. (according to my book) Green = batt. power Blue w/yellow = key power Black = gound White w/blue = right rear+ Blue w/black = right rear - Yellow w/white = left rear + Blue w/red = left rear - Tape up the white and yellow wires and just run new speaker wire to the fronts like I said. And make sure to unplug the stock connecters to the front speakers. They can be found behind the kick panel plates and the left side should have a Blue w/red and Yellow wire going into a plug that comes out with a Blue and a White wire. The blue will be ground and the white will be power. In the left kick panel you will find a plug with a White and a Blue w/black wire going in and a White and a Blue wire comming out. The White is the pos. and the Blue is the neg. The plugs "should" be red. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
  5. Dude, you are seriously tapped! Not only are you gona make my wagon look really small at Carlise, but really ugly too. That thing is awsome.
  6. I went on the NASIOC 48hr's run in Jan. And all the people on that run were cool and fun to hang out with. I just don't hang out there much becous it moves to fast for me and ...oh yeah I don't own an Imprezza.
  7. What kinda breaking system do you have on it now? How do you raise the line pressure of the master?
  8. Shame on me if I can't park that thing in a 10x10 space. (we are talking feet right?) Consider that spot mine, please and thank you.
  9. I think I had close to that much air in my old 85 BRAT. After I sold it to some kid in highschool for $30. He used it as a farm runner, one day I stopped by and took it for a run around the feilds and hit this one jump that must have sent it at least 3ft in the air, but it nosed down hard and covered us with dirt through the open T-tops. I also got some air with an XT that I was thrashing at a mud bog party. They had a jump built out of a big pile of dirt, and I had a few to many beers and kept trying to roll the XT off the jump. I never got it to roll but when I was done the doors wouldn't open and the motor was toast. They started running it over with trucks before I could even get out.
  10. I just threw one away. Sorry.
  11. Why:confused: I did install an EA82 booster and master in my 81 wagon when I did the EA82T swap. All I know is that in my Loyal, even with very good working 4 wheel disks you don't want to have to panick stop at high speeds. So how does that BRAT stop with 33's?
  12. The housings are close to the same. (both R160's) Other than that I think most of the turbos were 3.90's with LSD's and the L's were 4.11's with open rears. But as long as the gears are the same you could use an L rearend. All these pics really make me want to get mine back on the road.
  13. So is that other spot taken yet? I think with a lawn chair coushion the back of the wagon would make a good tent.
  14. So then it's cool if I want to follow you down right? Assuming you know the way. I started a thread over at the SVX site to try and fill some spots. We can't come this far and not make it.
  15. Yes we do! But what makes you think this thread won't get moved? Or worse, deleated:eek: I only have 3 cars I could register in an emergency last miniute situation. But I can still only drive one, well maybe two.
  16. Good buy man. I stepped up many years ago when I got my 91 Turbo. Such a differance, no exaust leaks, no cracked heads, real power. Pretty soon you'll be buying an SVX and swapping in EJ motors where EA's once were.
  17. A hotel would be nice, but they seem to be going fast. I would go for the camping spot but I have no tent and I really like to take warm showers in the morning. I guess I better start looking for a hotel room real soon. Can we sleep in our cars?:-\
  18. I had my lifted 88 wagon stolen. And it was ugly, mostly red with black quarters and two silver doors. Ofcousre like a dumb ***** I left my keys in it at work for the weekend. And what do you think they did with a lifted wagon? Took it in the woods of course. Someone found it and called the cops, it was sitting in a mud hole with a tree branch through the windshield, bend lower control arms, two destroyed front tires, and they got it so hot it melted the timming covers and radiator.
  19. That set up in Mudrats Beast, was that with a 4EAT or just a 4AT/3AT? It's funny but I just thought of the possibility of using a 4EAT in a RWD conversion instead of a 5 speed. With the auto you can remove the FWD peices to make it more efficent and create less heat than normal.
  20. Hell I didn't even see this till tonight.:-\ I was buzy building an exaust on my freinds Impreza and putting door speakers in my SVX anyway. But one of these days it would be cool to hang out and break stuff. Besides I'm a sucker for free food.
  21. I just registered to play it safe, # 2079 no doubt. Hopfully I really can make it or I'm out $15 bucks.
  22. What you meen the dunes? They are still there, They are one exit pass my sons daycare. I long time ago I took my 81 Wagon on to them. There always seems to be fresh tire tracks in the sand even thoe last time I was there it seemed t obe kinda blocked off. I still have to fix my skid plates before I take the wagon to Mabells, but I'll give you a heads up if your up for it.
  23. 240? as in HP? are you *****ing me? I'm guessing I'm might be getting close to the stock 160Hp, maybe a little more low RPM tourqe due to the higher compression ratio but not real sure. So your going with the T-case mod? Sorry I just think of it as cheating. Probly becouse I didn't do it to start with. I still plan on building a Justy with Zuki strait axles and 35's
