The airbag deploys at an estimated velocity of 300 MPH and if you are sitting within the first 12 inches of that deployment it can snap your neck like a twig. My friend and I deployed one on purpose with a manican(sp) sitting 12 inches from it and it crushed the chest, broke the right shoulder and decapitated the thing. BTW....you can also set them off outside the car and send them about 200 feet in the air. Done that too.

SO....what you are saying is WHOA PARTNER! -
Yeah, running into things and not hurtin' the car would be awsome. Plastic bumpers just aren't very good for that, they tend to be toooooooo forgiving:mad: Allied Armement has the FORCE BUMPER for like 7 bills. Can't wait til I have an EXTRA $700.00:eek: Besides, it would give me more room for LIGHTS:banana: Broke one this last weekend horsin' around with the SubaruOutback.org guys.

85 Gl rear strut, help ????
86ruguy replied to ivantruckman's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The reason you're having trouble finding them for the 85 is because they had adjustable spring seats, which all of the replacements don't have. I'm not completely sure if the 87 and up will fit but if they do it might lower the rear a little bit. There are KYB GR2's available however 1985-86 4WD Wagon (Exc. Air Susp.) Well, I have never been able to secure the crank by using the crank pulley bolt as it always seems to loosen before the flywheel bolts. I'm not super familiar with the 82 MY flywheel but, I sometimes am able to put a small screwdriver thru one of the clutch bolt holes and secure it against the block. Another thing that I have done is to use a pry bar or a flat tip screwdriver on the teeth of the flywheel and brace it against the studs on the bottom of the bellhousing. Again, not to familiar with the earlier cars. Hope this helps.

Stuck in Neutral..... any input is good

My Q is, is the SHIFTER realll sloppy. I have in my Garage an 88 GL10 sedan that will barely go into gear because the shifter bushings are shot. Just an Idea. BTW....offer her 2bills and go from there. -

If the car wont go into gear with or without the clutch while running, see if you can "run it thru the gears" with the engine off. If you can feel it go thru the gears it is prob a cable or clutch fork issue not tranny. I had an issue like that on a car that had a new clutch but when I had it apart I neglected to check the fork. Just my .02 worth. Still 5 bills is workable to at least 3 bills. -
