  1. the 4 relays that were on the driver's side in the junction block are for the A/C compressor and fans..... if this is for a swap and you don't have A/C then you will not need them
  2. i still prefer the addition of fog and driving lights versus the rewiring of the factory headlamps. but nice job dave
  3. i took my EJ22 swapped wagon on the beach with 205/60-15's and FTAWD and had an absolute blast doin' donuts and stuff with the car loaded with dudes and gear:banana:
  4. i agree, not essy, just work on hold. brat looks good tho.
  5. I do about 120 miles a day, which is about 43,000 miles a year. The suspension on my 86 GL Wagon is so worn out that the last time I did RallyX, she hurt the front struts so bad that they are like riding on 2x4's or something. When the speedo cable broke she had 300,278 miles on her:headbang: , and that was two weeks ago.( Haven't had time to get to PAP)
  6. i would (and did) pull the motor, it's just easier to line up motorto tranny i think
  7. "23/27 = 0.85 That means, you're final drive ratio is actually around 85% of what it originally was. So if you're vehicle has 3.9 gearing, this increase in tire size effectively makes the gearing: 3.32" so, this effectively states that if i have a 3.7 final ratio, and go from 23's to 25's, (=.92%) i go to a 3.4. no wonder i got no launch anymore:mad:
  8. hey andy, welcome. is it 2wd or 4wd? if it's 4wd there should be a tag on the back of the rear diff.
  9. i can read them okay, but you're right the very bottom of each line is missing. i knocked 30 seconds off in four runs. not too shabby for my second rallyX ever. HAD A BLAST GETTIN SIDEWAYS!!!!!!
  10. sounds like an engine vibration to me. check your spark plug wires. a bad plug wire will short to ground under a load but not in normal driving. the easiest way i know to check is to spray them with WINDOW CLEANER and then run your hand along them...if they're shorting out you'll get a shock(don't worry, it won't hurt, it'll just sting like a bug bite or something) Good luck, dave
  11. i had my old school/swap there and i rallyX'ed it and broke a strut or something:mad: oh well, time for a new ride:) lego wagon in the works:brow:
  12. so, there isn't like a speed sensor in the tranny to worry about:clap: . just the neutral safety switch. Huh, then what the devil are all the other f***in wires that i had to cut out of the harness when i did the EJ swap on my current wagon:confused: Oh wait a minute......the EJ automatics are electronically controlled, huh? thanks for the input gang, you rock:headbang:
  13. so it has been determined that the wagon is not cost effective to keep and repair and am going to have to take it off the market. However, i have a line on a legacy wagon, 2.2 n/a automatic that i want to put my FT4WD with diff lock in. The question i have is.....am i going to have to get a stickshift wiring harness or can i do the swap with the one that is in it and maybe just deal with a CEL on all the time. I know that guys/gals have done automatic to 5 speed swaps, and i'm pretty confident that someone has done a D/R into an EJ car, just seeking some info if anyone can help. Also, i have found out that it is harder on my knee if i drive an aoutomatic all day because it gets stiff. (just in case anyone read the reason i was thinking of selling my EA car) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Dave
  14. Zap...you should have left it alone longer!
  15. Sweet82.... Drifting doesn't count. heartless.... must have been a wild ride. i actually grew up back there ( Oshkosh North H.S. class of '85) and wish i had gone back a long time ago. i miss REAL winters.:-\ glad to see you and your rig will be okay.
  16. someone used honda front springs in the rear(i think he said accord). found this by torxx.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=66168&highlight=honda+springs
  17. i would not use air as this will probably separate the hose from the pump if the hose is not already disconnected. when you run the washer pump see if there is fluid coming out of the corner of the car, this would indicate a loose connection at the pump or at the connector in the middle of the hose. assuming of course that they didn't change the system from 86 to 88. good luck, dave
  18. WE DON'T CARRY CAMERAS, WE'RE NOT FLIPPIN TOURISTS....WE'RE OFFROADERS?
