  1. well, i guess since i didn't make it to WCSS8 i will have to make the one that is close to home and meet some of you NUTZ. see you there. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=12754&cat=500&ppuser=18606
  2. the only problem with the hell lights is going to be that they are pre-wired to use the switch only, which mean that you have to have a 3rd hand to operate them in case you come across oncoming traffic. wiring the less expensive lights the way i wanted them so all i have to do is turn on the high beams with their switch is much more practical for me and leaves my other appendages to their work:grin: i might be able to post a wiring diagram in my photos in a couple of days to help out with that if you want. Dave
  3. well, i have to say that i was not overly thrilled with my wagon when i first got it, but i drive for a living and having had d/r s.o.t.f. 4wd in the snow was nice. now that she has been swapped to EJ22 and ft awd, i like the way i can fly down a dirt road and whip the wheel one way or the other and she just swings the tail end around and says "WHAT'S NEXT?" with the 15in pugs and 195/70 r 15 tires, i'm running at about 11 1/2 inches of ground clearnce. and don't really worry about too much going under me. just my 2 cents
  4. hey i just went to autozone around the corner and picked up 2 of the 24.99 off-road lights and a set of the rallyX (?) lights......i deliver papers and am in darkness all the time. the off -road lights come on with my high beams the way i have them wired. i run across a lot of deer also, the way the lights are aimed i can see for about 3/4 of a mile ahead of me at night. (my wife says if i'm really careful i could see seattle from our house with them on. ) pic of the front of my car...http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=12755&cat=500&ppuser=18606 the top center light is no longer there
  5. nice rig cab. dareon....life is one GIANT mountain range with pitfalls everywhere. it will work out and you will find the sooby of your dreams, just be patient.
  6. yeah the stereo might get a little sticky if you're not careful, but the liquid seems to splash out towards me instead of forward. i guess we'll see in the near future. also, i just flipped the stereo install kit upside down cause before i replaced my worn out shifter linkage, the shifter would go to far forward to let me put it under the stereo.
  7. here is what i did http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=13239&cat=500&ppuser=18606 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=13238&cat=500&ppuser=18606
  8. i'm glad you found your problem...however, the question i have is....you smoked all four tires with an EA82 motor? or is this an EJ-swapped ride? What clutch? Does the e-management help that much? just curious. cause i have trouble smokin all four in my EJ-swapped rig. might be cause of the 195/70 15's that i'm running tho. Dave
  9. you know....doing something like this is cool...but it doesn't help the rest of the world understand why we like soobs so much:grin:....good luck
  10. fo those of us po' foke that can't afford air....make sure when you wedge open the pinch bolt slot you are doing so from the TOP not the side so as to not wedge your screwdriver into the strut and actually complicate things more. it took me about twenty minutes to get mine apart with the control arm and sway bar still connected.....after of course a good pen. oil soaking.
  11. did you check the fuses....i could be wrong, but i thought there was a fuse for the PB 4WD.
  12. just a couple Q's....what year? What engine?...these will help us help you.
  13. check the plug wires....use some window cleaner and spray it on the wires, then run your fingers along them and you will probably get your self a little wake up jolt. next thing i would check is the cap and rotor. hope this helps. dave
  14. take a peek here http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=65620
  15. just went out and looked at mine....engaged is toward the front of the car
  16. i wish to add my 2 cents... i have an ej swapped 86 gl wagon that i also converted to full-time 4wd and just connected my front diff. lock... my car may not win any drag races but IT SURE IS F******IN FUN TO DRIVE. and it goes just about anywhere i want it to with out me begging it to...it just goes. as far as the 4 banger versus the V8 thing.....power con come in small packages to. Dave
  17. i agree on the location of switch...that is where mine is. also concur on relay use as your aux. lights are going to need more amps than the switch will handle. i have mine wired so that they get switched power from the parking light side of the HL switch, then run that to the switch for your aux. lights, then to No.85 on your relay. lights get battery hot all the time AT THE RELAY and then the relay turns them on when you turn on your park lights. wiring the relay: # 30...batt positive #87...lights (could also be 87 A) #85...switched power #86...ground good luck and happy no shorts. dave
  18. i'm not sure if you are aware of the fact that the ecu gets it's signal to fire the injectors from the same place the coil gets it's signal to fire the sparky bolts, but it does. it all runs off the distributor signal so i would check to see if the ignition is working properly before you go replacing the ecu. just my 2cents dave
  19. well the t-wagon stranded me this morning when she over heated. she's losing water but not leaking it so i figure she is drinking it. any suggestions would be helpful.
  20. SY....if your rig is an ea82 your a/c should have two(2) options on the a/c button. 1 light push turns on the a/c...push it again and it should go into max a/c which is RECIRCULATED AIR ( not recycled)
  21. i have an EJ22 swapped 86 GL wagon, ft 4wd, 5 speed, no O2 sensor, and i can't keep my foot out of it and last check i was getting 26-27 around town.
  22. sounds to me as though the stub shaft has fallen out of the rear diff....right? in the exploded view, do they show the clip? you're probably going to need a new one
  23. my right rear coil spring is more worn out than the left because a third passenger always sits behind the passenger seat.
