  3. The Cv Shaft Is An Interference Fit In The Bearing...meaning It Doesn't Just Slip Out. You Are Prob Going To Have To Replace The Bearings As I Did On My 86 Wagon. Just Keep This In Mind. Dave

  5. my 86 was blowin smoke like that and i used some block sealer. if you use it right it will seal the crack in the exhaust port and not smoke. i did this to mine about 30,000 miles ago and now i just check the oil every now and then. mine will roast em in fisrt and second:headbang: make sure that you use like copper seal or something like it and follow the directions on the bottle or it won't work.

I AM GOING TO BE GETTING A 95 LEGACY AWD AND AM WONDERING HOW MUCH OF THIS RIG I CAN USE TO CONVERT MY 86 EA82 WAGON TO AWD OR IF I SHOULD JUST BUY THE MOTOR...I KNOW YOU GUYS HAVE THE STICKY IN USRM BUT IT IS CONFUSING BECAUSE THIS IS A LEGACY AND NOT AN IMPREZA.:-\ I AM GETTING OLD AND AM HAVING TROUBLE USING THE CLUTCH THESE DAYS SO I THOUGHT I COULD SWAP TO AUTO AWD... INFO WOULD BE COOL:burnout:

  13. my fav has got to be the shift on the fly 4wd...i have a pretty fresh motor and from time to time in wet weather the fronts slip on hills...grab the stick stomp the clutch and 4low it is:banana:

  16. yeah, they are really tight and you will probably destroy the bearings is you take the outer hubs apart:-\
  17. my 86 wagon has the lever on the floor by the driver's seat for the fuel door release and the little picture says if you push down it is supposed to open the hatch...but it does not...i suspect there is no cable for it yet.
  18. the carbed ea82's have an anti-backfire valve on the inside of the passenger fender...mine hasn't worked since i bought my car and it pops on deceleration
  19. i plan on lifting mine also and picked up a set of pugs and put some 205/60r15's on them for now:headbang:
  20. i bought my 86 gl wagon d/r 4x4 for $400.00, because of lack of my own time....CLUTCH $600.00, PUG 15'S AND NEW TIRES $500.00, HATCH SUPPORTS $85.00, STEREO (good one with sub woofer) $300.00, T-BELTS $250.00(with tow home), NEW DRIVER'S SEAT $50.00 @ WRECKING YARD, LIGHTS ON BUMPER $200.00, REPLACEMENT COMPOSITE HEAD LIGHTS(2) $100.00 TOTAL....$2485.00 AND WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!!!
  21. i was told that the original flywheel will work, but if you can find an XT6 flywheel it is aluminum and has less weight so it spins up faster....without their permission i won't say who told to be polite
