i dont know about detonation, but i dont want an oil lined intercooler. that kills the intercoolers ability to efficiently disippate heat.

your trap speed is faster than what i get in my wrx. how much boost are you running? if you let the clutch out kinda slow, you wont beat up the gears. i think my best 60' was 1.9 or 1.8, so slipping the clutch should take off a few tenths as long as you dont bog.

if we're thinking of the same test, get a spray bottle of soapy water, and pressurize the intake tract. spray the solution over the engine and bubbles will form where your leak is.
