  1. I've used WIX with no problems, K&N is pricey (if you can find the right one), but I prefer the OEM.
  2. Just be gentle, don't use any metal tools to pry at the trim, and you'll be fine. I put a 99 Outback tape deck into my 02 Impreza Outback Sport, with no problems. Remove the cupholder first (two screws), then the vents will just pop out,and after that everything should be obvious.
  3. AWESOME! Whatever you do, I hope you keep the original graphics. SUPEROO!
  4. "sideways at over 100mph on unplowed snow"? Who drives 100 mph on unplowed snow?:-\
  5. Anywhere but Les Schwab. Seriously. I have had nothing but bad experiences with them.
  6. There were some of these in a recent SubieSport magazine article. Cool little cars, SOA needs to start marketing them in North America.
  7. Wish I had read this thread bfore I bought my K&N.:-\ Hmmm, but wait a minute, 2000 and up 2.5 engines have MAPs, not MAFs. Excuse my ignorance, but is a MAP susceptible to the same oil/crud deposits a MAF is? Some interesting info: http://www.warpthree.com/info.html
  8. If you look closely, it says Sno-Slick All Season Drag Radial on the sidewall.
  9. Yes, you can. In 1:1 scale. Aisle three, left hand side.
  10. Those gaskets around the spark plug wells are prone to early failure, and the main cause is retarded techs that can't read a dipstick and put too much oil in when they change the oil.
  11. Uhh yeah, XT, that's what I meant. Cellphone? What's that? Like the phone in a jail cell? How would I take a picture with that?
  12. 1) sjrlift.com 2) 14" 3) paint it white with red stripes
  13. I saw a lifted RX, two-tone brown and green paint job, with black pugs in Portland yesterday, 17th and Tacoma. Whoever you are, that's a mean looking rig. I dig the back up light on the bumper.
  14. I checked mine for that, and all the solder joints were fine. It's such a common problem, I'm surpised they didn't do a recall. I guess they want to keep the proud history of Subaru clocks being junk!
  15. What company is that kit made by?
  16. I have the same sound, it's common. Floor it, and it will get louder.
  17. 2002 Impreza Outback Sports have the SOHC EJ25, so no headgasket problems. I have one with 94,000. My complaints are the following: Too much road noise, but this is due to the short wheelbase/cheap interior. Speaking of cheap ineterior, there are lots of weird rattles in the dash. Clock died, and it's a $70.00 part. It needs some aftermarket swaybars, as it leans like drunk pig. Don't buy one anywhere in the Pacific Northwest. You will pay too much, guaranteed.
  18. I like the stubby bumper! Where did you get that sweet pushbar from? Those lights look cool, where did you get those? Toyota clinometer, that's a rare find. Looks like one from a 1983 Tercel SR5.
  19. If there's gonna be a booze holder, you'll need a gun rack too. It's the holy trinity - Alcohol, Firearms, and Four Wheelin!
  20. Hmmmm. When I went to install a new radio and a new dash clock in my 02 Outback Sport, I had to unplug the switch that controls the hazards. I needed to drive somwhere before the install was done, and guess what - no turn signals. Turned around, went home, plugged the switch back in, and they worked. My guess is the switch is dead. But that's just a guess. I know nothing.
