no, not for the yota... But from Petroworks! the suzuki's exhuast has a bunch of rust and several large holes. The suzuki is presently my daily driver, (for now) so it takes priority #1. New Doug Thorley Header and a 2" turbo muffler, along with a new timing cover. the timing cover has a hole in it and the bottom section is missing... next month i need to replace the cam seal and that timing cover. i noticed the cam seal leaking away and little runs down the side of the engine. no oil drops where i park though. no blue smoke in the exhaust, but i go through about a quart every 2 tank of gas. slowly tracking down the seals that are leaking and replacing them. Next Package from the tax return... presently on the waiting list... Petroworks "It's Alive" CV Carb kit. remachined intake, with a Screaming Eagle (Harley Davidson) 44mm Constant Velocity Carb mounted in a true sidedraft. fully jetted and setup, remove the stock junk and bolt on the head, hook up the throttle, choke and fuel, then you are ready to roll. reason for changing the carb... carb is shot, choke no workie, horrid gas mileage now... i was getting an avg around 26 miles a gallon... then as the carb started leaking and the choke started staying open... the gas mileage is around 17 to18 mpg... rebuilt carb per spec, leaking stopped but there is some serious issues and major parts that are bad. it was only 200 bucks more to get a new intake, fully jetted and ready to rock performance carb, that won't sacrifice my gas mileage much. most people i've read or talked to running this kit are getting about the same mpg as stock. unless your heavy on the skinny pedal.

if i have the gas money, after a run to reiter the first weekend of march. i'll be there.

planning on camping up at naches memorial day weekend. the naches pass trail won't be open on the west side, but kaner flats should be, pwr line trail and all the stuff at the moon rocks. depends on snow melt how much is open. usually, and last year most trails were open. maximum amount of vehicles 14 per trail, subaru requirements: welded or lsd rearend lift oversized aggressive tires toyotas, jeeps and all modified 4x4 vehicles welcome. except full sizes... alot of trails are really tight for the fullsizes. they can fit if they are short enough, cause we used to run them in my dad's truck. but it becomes a hassle... planned trail runs, subjective to change due to weather and conditions... kaner flats, dependent on types of rigs and conditions clover and mud springs funny rocks and moon rocks manashtash ridge area this weekend will be a busy one, generally it is the season opener.

the only thing i'm looking at that might break this weekend is the welds in the lincoln locker. the spare diff i blew out the center 2 spiders, while it was an open diff... so it's just welded to the carrier, and center pin... and there's a nick in a ring tooth. nothing like the chunks of gears in the oil, like the diff that's coming off the car... so it'll need a replacment before reiter in a couple weeks.
-
that's what i was figuring, you have a lot of important stuff going on this weekend! wheeling should be last on your list. i know eric has something he's already commited to, that and it's tahuya... so i know that you guys can't make it. for sure... me... maybes... Turbone eltoro slideshow i almost consider it funny, all these people complain about toyotas and stuff being posted,... but there's a reason this section is always dead... no one really seems to wheel soobs anymore, exception scott and his crew up north, they seem to wheel regularly. the only thing i seem to see regularly is logging roads and such... i can't wait till i get my finances out of the hole so i can get on the yota. it's easier to find people to wheel with...

anyone going? or is it just going to be me and my girlfriend? hmmm... i should find where my come-a-long winch walked off to then...

I know, I've seen a few pics and rode the atv's over a few trails there this summer. threestep does look pretty wicked since the side bank is missing. the point of my next run there is to scope the rest out that I didn't get to see this summer. but isabel is the thorn in my side. never got to finish it or try past the log bridge. I know I can still make it that far. jeeps on 31's are running the trail. I figure in a couple weeks a reiter run. capable vehicles only, have only really built roos or toyotas. that and I want to take my step dad out there, he hasn't been out thre in years. need to fab a good skid plate for the tcase though. if I could only get people to show to shake down runs... it might just be me at lame tahuya... at least 4 maybes and I posted the run on 4x4network.com also.

the front one i haven't decided to go into the cabin yet. but the rear one is going through the rubber plug under the rear seat. might just go inside with the front diff breather also, now that you mention it... i was just going to put it behind the old strut tower.
-
i guess this is the only pic i actually got, all the others were too dark. it's the breather hose into the engine bay. still have to finish it.

invites to individuals that i thought would be interested have already been sent via pm... planning on making a run to tahuya sunday the 17th, needed lift, oversized tires, and a traction device in the rear. no stockers please, tahuya is tame, but i want to run a lot of the trails. nothing hard, just planning on running the majority of the trails. car will be done saturday and this is a shakedown run, to check for problems and issues with little roo. shouldn't be any major issues. i just need to go wheel, and needed an excuse to put humpty dumpy back together again. come one come all, it'll be muddy and wet. Safeway Parking lot in belfair at 9:00am, will be stepping off at 9:30am. please rsvp, so i know if i'm waiting for anyone... how many of you have cb's? if so i'll reinstall mine. ---------------------------------------- directions and times ---------------------------------------- PLEASE RSVP IF YOU ARE COMING, i'm only waiting for those that rsvp'd. after the rsvp's arrive at the meeting spot, we are heading out. if no RSVP's then i'm gassing up at 9am at safeway, then on my way to go airdown. ---------------------------------------- directions from tacoma to Safeway Belfair, wa http://maps.yahoo.com/;_ylc=X3oDMTExNmIycG51BF9TAzI3MTYxNDkEc2VjA2ZwLWJ1dHRvbgRzbGsDbGluaw--#mvt=m&lat=47.268105&lon=-122.50554&mag=6&tt=&tp=1&q1=Tacoma%2C%20WA%2C%2098402&q2=4831%20Point%20Fosdick%20Dr%20Nw%2C%20%23B%2C%20Gig%20Harbor%2C%20WA directions from safeway to effendel pass staging area http://maps.yahoo.com/;_ylc=X3oDMTExNmIycG51BF9TAzI3MTYxNDkEc2VjA2ZwLWJ1dHRvbgRzbGsDbGluaw--#mvt=m&lat=47.453352&lon=-122.821903&mag=3&q1=47.453019%2C-122.823769&q2=47.470688%2C-122.913033 Belfair, wa Safeway Parking lot between starbucks and safeway gas station. 9am 9:30am heading to orv park, or earlier if everyone that spoke up to go has showed up 9:45am airdown at Effendel Pass Staging area, cross the street and enter at the 4x4trail head. plan is to run as much of the trail system as possible. check out the errosion on broke axle hill... wasn't much of a challenge last time, but it's supposedly pretty well erroded... then run the south loop, and as much as time, gas and vehicles permit. personally i take the 302 at purdy, through a short cut to 3 into belfair. but i live about purdy and 302 area... a mile or so from hwy16. 302 isn't a freeway, but my soob also likes the pace of 55 and less... ------------------------------------- RSVP'd: Rooinater Attempting: Slideshow86 Maybe, not sure: ElToro Turbone

well got a lot done today. dropped the front diff, drained it, refilled it, installed front diff breather to the rear of the engine bay and reinstalled the diff. let me tell you that's a lot of hard work, that diff doesn't drop out easy like the rear does or go back in worth easy. it's a maze of lining stuff up. installed the new front cv shaft, easiest one i've ever installed... with a little wiggle it just slid through... tightened that down and lost the cotter pin in the dirt... got to go buy one of those tomorrow... for tomorrow, swapping out the rear diff, installing the rear diff breather and finishing the front diff breather install. trim the hose and find a nice location for the end in the engine bay, then tie it off so it stays away from the exhaust. i only got one or two pics, post them in a minute. the car is off jackstands and back on the ground! after tomorrow it can be wheeled, but sometime this week i'll go get the shifter linkage, rear shock, and shifter boot. i'd prefer to get those done, but have all day saturday to finish up the little details for the run to tahuya on sunday. what's left to do: install cotter pin on front shaft fix sloppy shifter clean airfilter hose down engine bay change engine oil swap out rear diff (missing ring teeth in the rearend) new oil in rear diff make rear diff extended breather hose into the cab check tcase oil make or find a shifter boot for the nissan tcase shifter replace rear shock... clean out the inside of the car...

well to all concerned, this was posted on the nw-wheeler's board and the reiter trail watch board, figured i'd share. some of the trail ratings are being debated, and the outlet mall trail is still not added according to jobless... but it's a pretty darn good map! full size image can be downloaded here. 11x17 might as well go to kinko's and get a laminate copy when the final draft comes out... or so was suggested on the RTW site. http://homepage.mac.com/jgreening/.Public/MAPS/Reiter%20Trails%20Map.pdf sample images... front back so lets see here... i've made it 3.5 miles to the log bridge on isabel with a subaru on 26" tires... not that it was easy to do, i had one hell of a tough time while my buddy in his toyota on 33's made it all look easy. gee that was probably in 2002... i need to get back up there and finish the last .5 miles. went all over at reiter with the atv this summer, but it's a lot more fun in a 4wd, too many big rocks on an atv.

sunday??? i got plenty of stuff to do, but should have it done by saturday, and with luck sunday i'll be running tahuya for a shakedown run. let me know if anyone is interested. i'll be working like hell to make the run.
-
well i got the shaft today, and the wrong tabs... got them for my trailer... oh well it needed them changed also. tomorrow va appointment and then to tend to the front diff and shaft. finally inspected the shifter linkage... well a few bushings are loose and the main mount bushing is tore through. so it's swinging all over the place. which explains why i can't get into reverse while i'm in low low. so a run to pap this week is in order. and to find a shifter boot for the tcase shifter. who's up for a possible run to tahuya on sunday? i think i should have enough done to make a trip to tahuya this weekend for a shake down run. anyone game?

it's on the list. the couple summer runs to tahuya made it fairly dirty. but it's been sitting collecting more. the to do list as of now: fix sloppy shifter clean airfilter hose down engine bay change engine oil change front diff oil make front diff extended diff breather to the rear of the engine bay replace front cv shaft swap out rear diff (missing ring teeth in the rearend) new oil in rear diff make rear diff extended breather hose into the cab check tcase oil make or find a shifter boot for the nissan tcase shifter replace rear shock... clean out the inside of the car... anyone have a soob rubber shifter boot laying around that they don't need??
