my weber gets doesn't get great gas mileage, but i'm sure it's jetting or the throttle plate is going bad... as for checking for vacuum leaks, try spraying carb cleaner on around the hose connections or suspected leak, if engine stumbles it's a vacuum leak.

i was wondering if anyone new of an easy fix for a sloppy ea82 shifter, it seems to have excess swing and play. i remember a long while ago there used to be a sloppy shifter fix for one of the d/r trannys. but can't remember for the life of me. i was wondering if anyone would point me in the right direction. thanks

just food for thought. the lower the profile tire, the higher the possiblity of rim damage. are you running pug steel wheels? cause the aluminum ones fracture then break after contact with hard surfaces. been there and broke that.
-
interest all stems from jealousy... hey which tranny? you aren't in need of an ea82 tranny are you? or are you using an ej tranny? might have an ea82 tanny lying around laying around.

well brian has motivated me, so i had to go work on the car. more like changed the tires out this weekend, finally got off my butt and put the tires on. next phase is the pwr steering pump change. then the cooling fans need attention, then the rear shock, then the rear diff. i'm attempting to work in small installments to get it going. the new tires are not very great at approx 8/32's of tread left, but will work for now... all mounted and airsoft bb balanced, smoothest it has every driven down the road!!
-
brian, are you going to be shortening the wheelbase a little to fit closer to the brat wheelbase, but far enough to clear the tires?
-
sweet! you weren't joking that the weather was really hampering progress!
-
looks like it was fun! hopefully within a month i'll be ready...
-
that'd be the one.
-
well if i can't afford it by registration date. i'm planning on camping out there this year, who has a capable rig and is for free memorial day or independence day weekend?
-
what's with the ditch?... having trouble on the main paths? any of you guys air down? side walls are looking real stiff in these pics.
-
not sure, probably, it was on the DC Mountain Lab video... if i ever get to figuring out my video editing software, i'll cut that part out and post it.
-
well it should be a fun trip. the passes have been being dumped on! up to 3 feet of fresh snow in the forecast between now and friday, not to mention the 3 feet of fresh since sunday already... who knows how much fell at reiter, the snow level hasn't gone above 1000 feet that i've seen so far and i religiously watch the pass reports. as long as there are tracks, and they air down, they should be able to make the road to the wall trail. i read a few more posts that people are making it out there. just stay off the tree trails alongside the main path...
-
well i can't post it yet, i need to figure out how to clip it out of the video and post it. but if you have a torrent server, download dc mountain lab, it'd be under snowboarding. the last 4 minutes of the video is a with a subaru rallying in the snowboard terrain park and launching the same jumps as the snowboarders.

hmm... were did the tires go... 36's or 38's hopefully in a few weeks i'll be able to make a run... yes, i'm full of excuses since i got out. college ain't cheap and i have no money.

i wasn't doubting you eric, i was just posting the latest report from the other site. ken had mentioned the wall trail, which is where these guys went, i'll post the pic of the stuck toyota for you. friday, my step dad and i are swapping my tires for the subie, step one!... now i'll have the tires done, minus balancing, but my tax return is pending direct deposit early next week.

sounds like it'll be nice and snowy, here's your update, for the wall, ken.

604-324-6883 shoot, i forgot that was a canadian call... that's gonna cost... well maybe not. it is a machine shop, so who knows call and call... i got ahold of them first try...
-
no, i forgot to grab the shipping info. the $395 should be valid, the $325 one isn't valid.
-
just got off the phone with them at 3:30pm pacific time, they still sell them. presently out of them at the moment, but should have some in stock in the next few weeks, he just needs to machine the flanges. otherwise he said, if you needed them in a quick pinch, go to inchworm.
-
it's 40 bucks cheaper on ott's site, have you called ott and asked?
-
it is still on their site though. http://ottindustries.com/divorcetoyota.htm
-
well that sucks. sorry for the bum info, they used to sell them when i was looking a few years ago. so your project didn't get kanked? i heard a rumor it got canned.
