  1. http://www.rrr4x4.com/Jayson.html pretty interesting, someone on the nw-wheelers board pointed it out to me.
  2. if you've wheeled walker valley up there. the majority of naches is not difficult. narrow ridge line trails, some rocks, roots and major sidehills on the more difficult runs. naches pass has been ran by the hatchpatrol like 6 years ago. they don't run the lower section on the jamboree, which is the most difficult section.
  3. if you have a lift and welded rear with some oversized tires you shouldn't have any real problems, with half the trails on that list. the trail descriptions make most of them sound worse than they are. pretty much funny rocks and up you should be able to make with no real problem if you've wheeled any real trails before. i made it out to the funny rocks with my stock suzuki on street tires this sept. it was dry at the time, which a lot of years it is pretty dry by the jamboree.
  4. i tried to set up a group to go a few years ago, but i think i got deployed instead. usually they are supposed to be pretty fun. ain't super cheap but registrations need to be started around the 11th of feb. cause the event keeps filling faster and faster every year. http://www.pnw4wda.org/trailjam/not_yet.htm who'd be interested? you'll need a seriously equiped rig if you want to do the intermediate trails. generally right after the 4th of july weekend and is the major fundraiser for the PNW4WDA.
  5. who's the goof in the driver's seat? i would, but i get nervous enough driving your rig eric. i don't have the money to fix mine, won't have money to fix someone else's. too much debt looming to get further in debt.
  6. well i believe in sealing the disty, i still got water in with the stock splash shield. but the only other thing i can think of was the plastic shield --cut up radiator bottle-- i have over my weber to make it suck air from the back of the engine. the only thing i remember with the stock ea81's is the intake portion of the air box, i cut up an oil bottle and fabbed it to suck air from the back and protect from splash. but as eric said you could use a rag.
  7. i'd suggest sealing your disty cap with rtv. otherwise you'll wind up with that wet disty sputter out there. the water is probably fairly deep out there right now.
  8. all the stuff under the power lines is just mud, mud climbs and mud... tons of mud, there's something for everyone there, from a stock car to buggies.
  9. i run 31's. but i do have 8" lift and a divorced case, so i actually have gearing to turn them.
  10. poop chute you guys gonna run up this? an 8 min vid of parts of reiter
  11. and there are some trails that are way more difficult than that! be ready for some adventure and fun.
  12. hmm... ummm.... eric have you had a crazy streak, joining some interesting groups are we? i had to plug my car as for sale....
  13. here's a direct link. http://www.pvpmedia.com/sg.htm
  14. the whole river flow has changed after that last storm. this pic is the river crossing shortly after that major storm that reaked havoc everywhere. notice how it's just flowing in the center. that trail towards the left, where the dark jeep or 4runner is, used to be under water the last time i was there 4 months ago.
  15. and you nailed another reason some have drifted away from subies and wheeling. you can only tweek and adjust ifs so much. they are capable very capable, but i'd take the sammy or toy geared down any day over the sidekick. you can only push those types of suspensions so far, and it's time to upgrade. now i wouldn't mind the motor out of the sidekick in my sami. but since i'm attempting to keep it as a daily driver, i'm only putting on a screaming eagle CV carb kit, a header w/full 2" exhaust and an isky cam when i reseal the head. after the toy is finished, the zuk will be sprung over, 31's and 6.5:1 gearset which will also regear the 2H to 1% over stock w/31's. and it will be used as tahuya wheeler and DD.
  16. ok, i forgot about the tabs till i got home from school today, looked at the car... darn it they expired at the end of december... but i definately need to scrap something together and go wheel! it's eating me alive! i think the last time i drove offroad, was naches when i was supposed to only be on the logging roads... but wandered out to the goofy rocks alone... that was at least 4 months ago.
  17. not good for me. i have to buy tabs, 5000 .20g airsoft pellets (dynamic tire balancing $20), gas, and don't get paid till about the 7th... i'm out for trying on that day. i'll try another day down the road. also depends if i finally get my adjustment on my pay. but i can swing bb's and tabs no problem. if i can go, i'd like to head up to the washout on isabelle and see how bad it really is. supposedly the second major creek crossing is like 10 feet deeper than it was.
  18. the map info was from. http://reitertrailwatch.org/forum/index.php
  19. 12 - Edge Loop Trail - Last time I posted a map, no one knew this trail existed so I'm proposing this name. Honestly, if someone has something better great, I'm tired and not being very creative right now. 13 - Backside Trail - This is a relatively short trail right on the backside of Reiter. As yet nobody seems to have realized it's a Jeep trail and nobody had a name for it last time I posted. Again, if anyone has a better name, great. Not Listed / Not Mapped BYS - With the snow on the ground I couldn't find the start of this trail. I understand that even in good conditions it can be difficult to find. Unless someone wants to accurately draw it on this map and post it / e-mail it to me I'll add it to a Version 2 sometime later. SOL - I understand this branches off BYS so, if I couldn't find BYS, I wasn't going to find SOL. outlet mall

Upper pwr lines area has, the rock garden, grumpy's trail, more power line roads, sand hill,... all sorts of stuff from harder than walker to easier. tons of choices at reiter.
  21. i did a bunch of searching around tonight. all i read was good things and more good things, at that price it sounds excellent. those prices are less than half a decent tire. if not 1/3 of a cheap higher end tire. if i had the money i'd jump on a set for the roo, instead of using some used rubbers. still kicking myself for selling bfg's...... but had to at the time.
  22. i've looked at them, but haven't gotten them. I never really did find out any real info of people using them off-road. maybe you should try them, and let us know. then i could get a set for the roo.
  23. so what weekend did you guys decide on? i'll see if i can pull a miracle... not promising with the way my lack of money and time is. but i'm dying to go off road! this whole being cooped up and only getting to snowboard or go wheeling if i can find a ride is getting old. if i can pull a miracle, i'll probably be taking it easy.
  24. i looked into them about 6 or 7 years ago. after i realized how thick the sidewalls were, it was easy to realize they are a real waste to buy. they'll work... but, will work, is a very subjective term. it's more of how well in all conditions, versus just mud. something to look into is to see if they still are making highliner tires around a 26". those were the tires i settled on originally. 70 bucks a tire, for the same tread as a gumbo mudder bias ply. worked real well. but they might be discontinued now. or go into the tire shop and talk to the people in the stores. that how i found my first few sets of small offroad tires. les schwab should have boks with all that stuff in them. or they might now anymore. haven't bought any tires from them in a long time.
  25. yes and no. if you're lifted you can fit them with some fender modification. but you do lose a lot of gearing. i have ran 27's with little to no problems on stock gears. you'll have to get used to dropping the clutch for hill climbs.
