  1. it's looking like i might even have a car by then!! or at least be able to steer it there... lol!!
  2. let the cry babies be cry babies. it's in the right forum. they are just jealous about your awesome toyota!! otherwise they wouldn't lurk in this section. i like it! bumper is coming along! so when you coming up to run reiter trails, the moon rocks or funny rocks?
  3. here's a link http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=67
  4. there's a new forum, for the yota pics! down by the vanagan forum!
  5. almost, but not really. i always remember after i turn... lol... i'll need directions! sunday i have to go to the zoo with heather though.
  6. so what location are you looking at? all depends,
  7. maybe if i get the steering and suspension fixed. or i might just drive up to hang out. it's only an hour away. i'll see how fundage and parts go.
  8. just make sure your not mudding on national forest land. unless it's the only way through a trail. any off the sides of roads or in meadows is illegal, and can wind you up in jail. just fyi
  9. i already have redrilled 6 lug rims. just never have the time. haven't bothered looking too deep into it, in the last 5 years. probably should. then i could put my toyota's 39" tires, on lol!
  10. if you put in a nissan dual case. your looking just under 60:1 if you keep 3.9 gears.
  11. got any pics? how much? are they for 15" rims? i have redrilled rims at the moment. still need to do the 6 lug. kind of leary about doing the 6 lug myself.
  12. well i got a lot of my parts today. we'll see on making it up there. still need a rack, and vind out the noise/vibration. hopefully just my intermediate shaft's u-joints.
  13. so camp riders camp in manashtash/ cle elum area http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/wenatchee/cle-elum-orv/taneum-jct-campground.html there's also the ahtaum or how ever you spell it. manashtash area bleeds into the naches area.
  14. cough, cough... want to sell swampers?
  15. notice any ea81's with power steering? i need a new steering rack...
  16. you guys should go to manashtash area or can't remember the name of the one even closer to you.
  17. don't think i'll be fixed in time or have m/t's yet. which trails are you guys running? upper mainline, lower mainline, poop chute, or expressway?
  18. hey brian, how much. and do you feel like a drive to the florence dunes, in oregon. say labor day? i might be there!! riding my quad though. might even have my new samurai by then. if so we could go cruise the dunes! as for price range, cheap, well under 200 bucks. i'll be using them for some light use (tahuya), then to sell the car on. not paying for new tires. just did that on the toyota. 1300 bucks later and i still need a spare.
  19. just realize how expensive this would be. the prefabbed kits that still need a lot of parts, cost upwards of $7k... and they don't make them for a car. so it's from scratch, which i understand you want to do. and especially if you intend to to use the soob at race speeds you'll have to reenforce the unibody with a subframe. i've seen a few unibodies tweak and ripple the roof, under regular wheeling conditions... wheel lift is a fact you will always deal with in an ifs setup. which is why the rock crawlers that were trying to pioneer with using ifs, went back to solid axles. ifs is meant for control at high speeds,
  20. nice ride? offroad? hmmm... never riden in a plush riding subaru in the dirt. except on dirt roads. race buggies! now that's plush riding. but your talking 60k to build and 10k to 20k in suspension alone. x2 on what brian said... as for the ea81 stuff. remove and fab longer travel upper shock mounts for the el cheapo rancho 5000's or nicer 9000's or rock some bilstiens that we use on the yotas. with the shocks removed, flex out the rear suspension and measure from the new long travel upper shock mounting hole to the lower mounting hole at full compression and and full droop. take the measurements to your local 4wheeldrive shop. and tell them you need a shock between those dimensions. install and start blowing out them cv's! strongly sugest limiting straps, and talk to turbone about the ej82 doj mod for the cv's. as for the front. don't torque up any of the suspension. leave it soft and remove the sway bar. removing the sway bar only helps with lower speed obstacles. any higher speed stuff with it removed, is going to be a noticable lack of control over having the sway bar. just get used to it and drive it. also weld the rearend. only real option, don't use an lsd in the rear. but if you give it a second tcase, put an lsd in front...
  21. :slobber: definately would like to go there. did you bring the bike?
  22. you'll also need a frame reinforcement kit for mounting the ifs steering box, flat pitman arm kit, and an ifs steering box, the 5th knuckle stud kit, so the bolts on the hy-steer kit don't keep loosening and eventually shear the studs. if not then your back in the boat of it possibly leaving you stranded somewhere on the trail. 5th knuckle kit, or 6 stud knuckles... http://www.longfieldsuperaxles.com/ www.trailgear.com
  23. it comes with the stock ifs pitman arm. you'll want a flat one. http://www.sky-manufacturing.com/steering1.htm
  24. subaru's have attended in the past. dirtbikers, atv riders.... everyone that wants to help clean up reiter.
  25. make sure you buy the flat pitman arm. do not use the stock ifs arm. which is why my hy-steer still isn't installed. the flat one clears everything. if you use the stock one you'll have to kant the steering box.
