  1. that man deserves many nomination for best of Craigslist
  2. direct bolt in, you will have some saggy butt syndrome though
  3. Cool didn't realize you'd gotten another one lol. I'll try to snap some pics in the next day or two for you.
  4. From my reading, the ej20r, stock tt engine, suffers from weak bottom end. But the heads are supposed to be one of the best you can get.
  5. Are you needing pics of the turbo analog cluster? I've got one, along with a complete analog dash harness from an 84 turbo wagon I can get pretty much anything you'll need from them.
  6. GT's and outbacks got red needle guages, basic cars got white needle. They are interchangable, I think there is a difference in the circuit board on the 140mph cluster speedo head, I've read a write up somewhere on how to make it work, but still interchange.
  7. Some of them are marked with the fuji logo because felpro buys out old stock when updated parts are made.
  8. If you do tire size with the different final drive the speedometer discrepence basically cancels itself out. But there won't be enough clearance to the stock rear struts to fit the larger forester tires without using the corresponding suspension.
  9. Pricing sounds normal for out here. Any ej22 auto from 95-99 should have the same 4.11 final drive as yours.
  10. for our era cars, unfortunately, there is no easy option for tuning, stock ecu cannot be flashed, or chipped or otherwise effectively manipulated the way it needs to be for tuning a turbo. you absolutely must be able to adjust timing to safely run a decent amount of boost. for no more than 7-10 psi you could get by with an fmu, do a little research to see what ratio would be best, and probably a better fuel pump, walbro or sti seem to be popular. The td04l I believe is the stock 2.0 wrx turbo, and with a boost controller would be a good match for the ej22.
  11. You already have a forged crank in your motor, came from subaru that way. Change the pistons to a set from an ej22t or do a ej25d head swap to lower compression. Some sort of fuel management will be needed. The boost won't kill it, the block can hande most boost than you'll probably ever end up throwing at it. The rods are the same as ej22t as well, don't bother changing them. The best upgrade you could possibly do is a stand alone management and a good tune. Detonation ends most na-t swaps before overboosting does.
  12. rump roast is a.s.s.
  13. That's the one I'm using on my dohc ej22 build, came on the block out of a 94ish legacy.
  14. Great find you made there, going to save my mom a little money in a few weeks when I do the reseal on her 04 outback. They are either m6x1.25 or m8x1.25 I can verify sometime tomorrow when I get out to my building. Leaning towards the m6x1.25 though. Length I couldn't swear to as I don't have any of the updated screws on hand.
  15. The extreme dome pistons in the 06 era engine won't even clear the huge combustion chamber of the 96 ej25 heads. iI know it's not relevant to what you're doing, but it can't hurt to have the info out here somewhere.
  16. I'm a 10 year member, never been, but I'm 2200 miles from it lol. Have fun everyone.
  17. Do you have the part number on the dorman plate? I can't seem to find it on there.
  18. Fwiw the last time I attempted to pull an engine and transmission together out of a subaru it was a complete pain, I do not wish to do it again.
  19. I haven't met one in years that I haven't been able to "finesse" off with a few stern mule kicks.
  20. I wouldn't bat an eye to pay 400 bucks for that car.
