  1. I'm not actually doing it... (I actually love my EA82!) I just think it could be done... but only on an 85-86 non crank angle car... it's more an idea... the escort dizzy fires the coil the computer reads that.... somehow I thought it was something worth exploring.... but the truth is most of these cars are carbed or spfi
  2. here's the first part of my research. ea series TPS on EJ18 TB.. and add in the escort disty... (problem herei s the later FI has the light in it) so 85-86 only... I think it would work... any thoughts?
  3. I'll take the EA82T... if you get rid of it...
  4. hey smelly cat... where in GA are you?? we should get together and tweak on the subies, yeah! I have a good many leaks too....
  5. EXCELLENT THREAD! I am watching this one! I think I need to scoop up an Ea82t
  6. rock! aerodynamic XTs with tiny engines FTW! (maybe I should put a 1400 in)
  7. how much is a 4wd turbo alcyone from Japan... (roughly?)
  8. that makes sense.. thank you! al my reading/research has been into 85/86 model years on XTs cause those are what I have! (stickedy, are you saying you could reprogram these?)
  9. I never could figure out having both... it's wierd... Map FTMFW though.
  10. no mine's fine the question was more for curiosity's sake! the bad power band is likely caused by the difference in igniton timing and lack of boost... which means there is a difference in the ecus... even thought people have said they are the same (including chiltons)
  11. yeha I saw that after... the brat is an EJ18 which is also cool!
  12. she had the louvers off for a while... while cleaning it up.. I wish I had an invoice to look at! lol!
  13. cruise control is an okay tool... the truth is you will get better mileage out of a pulse and glide scenario.... pulse to 75 then neutral glide down to say 45 (or the slowest you feel safe with) then pulse to 75 again.. this really does help.. that along with extra high tire pressures (I run 50 psi in the thirteens) makes for a rough ride... but my glides are much longer with over inflated tires. the XT's low CD makes it one of the best pulse and glide cars. (I didn't hypermile the Dragon trip, either)
  14. you know,... I bet that's how my Winona passed in Atlanta in 07 before she was MY Winona
  15. mine's into the 40s on the highway! (does it have a spider intake or the log type?)
  16. go walbro.... (or a large aeromotive if you'd like to never out perform your pump ever again.) so this is a brat with a 22T? sweet!
  17. except there aren't any more here... I'd take a sedan, though.... in fact I'd trade the engine for a sedan... lol
  18. mind if I ask what that cost you?
  19. I did the dragon trip on 80 bucks gas total... 32 mpg average. 70 on the highway and 2nd and 3rd gear for 200 miles of dragon running... (I was taking it fairly easy though) yeah it gets near 45 on the highway at 60 ..... no official tests but yeah.... I just found the weight listed in nada classic cars guide as 2280.... (I'm sure that helps.)
  20. I've decided to not do the swap... why would I hack up a good looking 40+ MPG car?
  21. thought you were selling right now not buying... a starter CAN click from a really bad battery which would also make the car die.
  22. thank you and thanks for not just telling me I am stupid... lol FWD it stays... I don't want to mess with finding a 3.9 rear end..
  23. my franken clutch isn't working out... and honestly if I am going to have to get a different FWD tranny to get a big enough clutch for the 2.5RS motor then I may as well get a nice AWD one right? I have the rear end stuff from a 3.7 from an 85 XT I can use.. (this is on the 2.5 swap going in my 86 XT dl)
